Works flawlessly as described. This is an awesome product for anyone with a 1.4 HDMI receiver/av-processor that needs to support 2.0 HDMI for 4k TV. I have a Marantz AV7701 av-processor and when I bought a 4k TV (Using Apple TV to stream content), I could not enjoy the 4k content. I used to have the ViewHD audio extraction without the HDMI switch and connected an external 4k switch. That ViewHD product worked but from time to time the video colors went off and I had to manually unplugged it and plug it back. This product with the 4 ports switch has an on/off capability and an IR remote. I easily programmed it into my Logitech universal remote, the device was in the Logitech list. I have the device connected to my Apple TV, comcast cable box, and even to my AV7701 video out if I need configure it using the UI. The ViewHD HDMI out B (Audio) goes to one of my Marantz HDMI input and HDMI out A (video) goes to my LG 4k TV. I programmed my remote to set the ViewHD on the correct HDMI input for what I want to see, and it turns off and on together with the rest of the system. It works flawlessly transfers Dolby vision and HDR video without any deterioration in quality and the same for transferring Audio in all formats (DTS HD, Dolby atmos etc.). One thing to improve on is to have the option that Audio will not be transferred on HDMI out A, not a big problem I just mute my TV audio.

This works perfectly for me. I have an older Onkyo TX-SR805 receiver that does not support 4K sources, but it is otherwise quite useful. I'm using this device to switch three 4K devices (Apple TV 4K, HTPC, Xbox one X) and a cable box. It sends the video to my Sony XBR55-850b and the audio, via HDMI to the Onkyo. I get all the expected surround formats, and the video does not appear to be degraded. I am using all 18Gbps cables, with short cables from the sources to the switch. I programmed my Harmony remote to change inputs on this box instead of the mix of TV and Onkyo that I was doing before - so it is faster now. The only drawback I see is that the audio takes a few seconds after the video switches. This may be due to my receiver, but either way, it is significantly better than spending $1K for a comparable new receiver. This also replaced three of the older ViewHD HDMI audio extractors that I was using for this function previously.

Problem child. First unit I received died after 4 days. Worked great during those 4 days, but then erratic. Changing the “algorithms “ had no effect, system component power cycles no effect, just a extremely fast blinking screen. So before proceeding, my setup is a Sony 65x900F, Apple TV 4K, PS4 Pro, a Marantz AV8003 PreAmp and.., this um device. I’m running HDR. I’d also note I’ve tried 3 completely new sets (different brand each time) of “certified” 18g 4k premium cables. Some sets are “affordable”, one set, well not so affordable. Cable lengths in each set are 1 - 6’ and 3 - 3’ cables. The 6’ goes to the TV the 3’ers go between components. And this box. Pretty straightforward. Amazon sent a replacement unit. It ALMOST works. That’s the frustrating part. Sometimes (about 25%) everything syncs and works great (until components are turned off) but 75% of the time, picture blanks randomly every few minutes. No amount of power cycling components or changing their “algorithm” improves things. Then, out of the blue you walk in one morning and it works great for hours on end. This occurs whether the source is the Apple TV 4K or The PS4 Pro. The Apple will try to go into Dolby Vision and sometimes (that 25%) it works, the other times it’s says something like “incompatible device”, goes to standard video mode and the blinking randomly starts. If I connect directly to the Sony 900F from the source devices, works perfectly ever time. Having the audio connected/disconnected from this device to the Marantz has no impact on the video reliability. Actually, I really blame Sony, they should have provided an HDMI audio out on the 65x900F. Shame on the bean counters & Product Managers at Sony. Now, to find a way to tell the wife I need a new Preamp. This particular box is gonna be on the receiving end of some target practice. YMMV, this is based on my particular setup with major name brand components (except for this box).

Works well to split our audio for older receiver, up to DTS-HD MA and Dolby Tru HD, and send the 4K UHD signal to projector. Only minor issue is that it is a bit slow to sync, and the audio starts a couple seconds before video. While it is trying to sync the video it displays a black screen saying signal not supported. After it syncs there are no issues and the sound and videoare are in sync. This save me from having to buy a new receiver just to have good sound and pass 4K UHD to my projuector.

I had to sift through a lot of similar products to find this one, but I'm glad I did. I have another 4x2 HDMI switch I use with my basement projector set-up. I was basically looking for the same thing, but compatible with 4K HDR. My older switch works well, but with the audio split out over Toslink, it would occasionally drop the audio stream when switching inputs. The fact that this one will split off the audio over HDMI is brilliant, and I've not had any issues switching. As for the video, I hooked up my Apple TV through this switch and my TV recognized the Dolby Vision signal immediately.

My case use for this was hooking up my Orb Audio system to my Samsung Monitor. Orb istill uses Optical and the Samsung monitor is Hdmi/Arc. It saved the day for me, I love my Orb speakers and amplifier and did not want to give them up. This allowed me to use the Orbs with the Samsung monitor. (Hopefully Orb has a revamped amplifier in the works with Hdmi arc/e-arc). Also if the audio extractor, is going to take up a power outlet, it might as well have additional Hdmi ports, (sometimes you can never have enough. (Although in my case to use my Blu-ray player and Apple TV, I have to shut off Arc, no sound quality is lost however). A full blown receiver is a consideration for the future but for now this device saved me the time, money and trouble and space . considerations. Highly recommended if you have older devices and have no desire to upgrade just yet.

I got a new HDR tv and like others, didn't want to have to upgrade my HDMI 1.4 preamp in order to get TrueHD or DTS-HD processing.. It worked with my old Emotiva UMC-200, LG C9 and Nvidia Shield. I originally bought a competing product but I am returning that one because of audio drops when listening to TrueHD or DTS-HD even after replacing with certified 18Gbps cables.

The product worked fine until one channel stopped sending after 9 months. Customer support was slow and hesitant. They made us pay to ship the product for replacement, and also pay for a return shipment. They then claimed they never received the return shipment label. So two trips to the post office, $25 in shipping, slow and even accusatory emails from customer support, and after all that, warranty not honored. Some companies give the customers the benefit of the doubt and "makes things happen", others do not. I advise looking elsewhere as so much of this stuff is chinese made with poor quality control across all components, even more so with pandemic supply chains, so a warranty that is honored si more important than ever.
