Wow! I ordered this trap because a mouse was getting away with eating the peanut butter off normal snap traps. Got the trap set up around 6pm and had the mouse caught by 845pm! Good for homes with pets too because they can’t get to the mouse and it’s safe. Drove the mouse down the street and let it out of the trap. Feels good all the way around! Definitely impressed and I think it’s worth the price.

So we feed birds, ducks, squirrels etc and have seed, nuts and suet cakes near the back door. Discovered a mouse in the cracked corn bag one morning. I had a couple of these already and set them up. Caught one the first night. Bought more the next day. These work great and are soooo insanely easy to set up. A little bit of peanut butter that the mouse never actually gets is all it takes. Love that they are sturdy and pretty decent size in case they are trapped while I'm asleep, which they usually are. Some mice have panicked and make it rattle, while others just chill in the blue tunnel of eviction. They make a distinctive sound when they are set off which we can hear through most of the house which is great. These do what they are meant to while being humane. I've only had 1 get its tail stuck and I was able to free it pretty much uninjured from what I can tell. They do take thumb strength to open to bait and/ or release. My mom unfortunately can't open them with her arthritis, but overall they are pretty close to perfect and have solved our mouse problems.

This is the perfect trap for an animal lover. Ditch the cruel glue traps and live in harmony with nature and the sentient beings! I used this handy dandy live trap and caught a mouse on the first night. I put a walnut in the “catching” compartment instead of the “bait” compartment so it could eat while it waited for me to discover it. In the morning it was just sitting in the trap as cute as can be and I transferred it to a bigger container and gave it a really nice meal of blueberries and fresh greens and seeds before releasing it to a wood pile far from my home and I covered the wood pile with brush to keep it safe. I hope it does well in the wild. I loved that little mouse, but just can’t let it live with me and colonize in my home. The container was well made and did the job and I’ll keep using it to see if there are more. I recommend this trap, because it was easy to use and worked really well at a great price. No assembly required, no reading instructions necessary; simply open the box and push the trap door down, add food, put it where you need it and voila! Please have a heart, relocate your mice with love and kindness!

The first trap will not work - I cannot set it because the trap door won’t catch on the release. I don’t see any way to adjust it. Maybe I’ll try adding a dab of epoxy. However, the other trap that came with it worked well. Set it last night with a bit of peanut butter, and it had a healthy little mouse this morning. I appreciate that I’m not putting poison into the environment to kill owls and hawks, and not leaving a carcass somewhere inside the house to smell bad.

I am extremely passionate about humane and kind options for all living beings. That being said, mice were invading my kitchen, and it was causing me actual severe stress, having to clean up mouse poop and make sure no food was left out. When I finally had the chance to buy these catch and release traps, they changed my life, and brought back my sanity. I caught 2 mice within the first day of having the traps out. I caught 2 more the next couple days. It’s been a month or so, and I have caught 3 or 4 in that time, every week or 2. These traps are the easiest to set I’ve ever used by far, like trivially easy, they work every time, the mice are not injured or even very stressed once inside them, and I’m able to release them back into the forest away from my house. I am so grateful for these traps. If the house is quiet at night, and I hear that a new mouse is rattling around under the stove, I set a trap with peanut butter or something sweet, and within literally 10 minutes tonight I heard a “click” of the plastic door clicking shut, then the sound of a mouse pawing around inside the trap. It’s that effective. I am so grateful to these traps, and so grateful I don’t have to harm living beings to relocate them, until I can find a longer term solution like sealing the holes under the house where the mice are coming inside. Can’t recommend these enough as a humane and super super easy alternate to other methods. And such great quality for such a cheap price!

I have been using four of these to catch voles in my large garden. They work well for catching even large voles and I have been catching one or two almost frequently. It is easy to let the caught animal out far away from the garden, then clean and rebait the trap. They are especially good because I don't catch or injure birds by accident and you don't get hurt if the door closes on your hand. I have not had a vole chew on or destroy any trap in over a month of use. Opening the back of the trap makes it easy to put the peanut butter in the trap and clean the trap with water. It is also easy to see if there is an animal in the trap and then release it far away. Voles have short tails and I have never seen a tail get caught in the door. It is also much easier to set and rebait this trap than using a snap trap.

We just got four of these traps today and let me tell you they work great! Three mice in as many hours and it was so easy to move them into a tall trash can until we can move them away from people. No mice are injured and the shape of this trap actually lends itself to keeping them calm. Just small enough to feel cozy, just big enough that they don't appear to feel particularly trapped. I had just about given up all hope on finding a truly humane trap, but this one has definitely delivered! I personally hate killing things, but living in the woods I've been forced to resort to that with mice more than once. I'm hopeful that finding this product will mean I never have to go that route again. We didn't use the recommended peanut butter because we didn't have any to hand, but we do have Lefaber nutriberries for our birds, so we figured we'd give that a shot. Honestly, I think it may actually work a bit better than peanut butter would have. The nutriberries add just enough weight to reduce the tension on the spring plate and this leaves me no doubt that the trap is able to catch even the smallest of mice (perfect for us because our colony appears to be mostly youngsters). It does make it harder to set the traps, so it's best to set the loaded trap down before you set the door, but the mice go bananas for nutriberries. My husband actually just found a fourth mouse caught while I've been typing this! The only downside to using them is that if you have a little pig who just doesn't care and shreds the nutriberries, the pieces can get stuck between flaps and make it so you can't reset the door. I solved this by running the trap under my sink faucet to dislodge the seeds. It does make some fantastic bait and if humane is truly your goal, nutriberries are actually pretty dang healthy for the little guys. If you're gonna evict them from your nice, warm home, it's not a terrible idea to give them a decent meal first. As far as the trap itself, it does feel well constructed. The plastic is a bit thin as others have commented, but after playing with the mechanism it's easy to see that a thicker construction would actually reduce the efficacy of the trap. I would still avoid dropping one of these as I don't think they'd survive much of a fall. I would also not recommend attempting to wedge them in anywhere they don't properly fit as they are likely to crack under pressure. That being said, for what they are, what they do, and how effective they've shown themselves to be in just the few hours I've had them out, they are a fantastic product and well priced. I'll update my review if I run into any issues, but I currently see myself buying more than the four I've started with.

We apparently had a mother rat that decided to have her litter in our house. She entered through our dryer vent and then made her way to under the kitchen cabinets. We fixed the initial entry point. We weren't able to get her in the trap, but we left a door open and she went outside and we got the door closed before she returned. Her offspring were not as smart and they did go into the trap. I was then able to easily take them away from my house to an open field with an Oak tree to release them. The first critter may have been in the trap a long time (we didn't realize we had caught it) and so it was a little hesitant to leave but one it realized the door was open it left quickly. The next two quickly exited the trap when it was opened. The trap is easy to use and it does work, and it is re-usable! You simply put the critters food of choice (for us Brown Sugar....they didn't touch the peanut butter). Once it is in the back of the door you open the flap for them to get in. We did find it was helpful to have the trap back up to a solid surface so it wouldn't move upon their entry (For us against the side of the fridge and one side next to the cabinet base). They didn't like the one in the pantry that was in a more open space...so try to find a place along a wall. Then when the critter is in the trap you can easily open the door where you put the food to allow the animal to escape. The whole process can happen with no physical interaction with the critter. My husband did set up our movement sense security cameras so that we could see if they were coming out and where they were going. It did let us know the number and that there was more than one and we could make sure they were not going back upstairs. If you would like to try not to kill the critter this is definitely worth a try. If your critter is smart they may not go in. The traps have had us holding off on using poison at least for now.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT, I HAD DEEP GOLF BALL SIZED HOLES IN GARDEN, SO SUSPECTED SOMETHING SMALL. I BOUGHT THESE, BAITED WITH CHEESE, AND CAUGHT 2 FIELD MICE OVERNIGHT. I THEN CAUGHT 1 MORE NEXT NIGHT. EASY TO LET GO, USING THE BACK DOOR. THE NEXT NIGHT ONE TRAP HAD TRIPPED, DOOR WAS SHUT, AND BAIT HAD GONE. TRAP WAS EMPTY, BUT I NOTICED THE BACK DOOR, (WHICH SLIDES DOWN IN RUNNERS), WAS RAISED ABOUT HALF AN INCH, SO THIS ONE HAD ESCAPED. I HAVE NOW RESET THE TRAP, BUT USED A SMALL ELASTIC BAND TO HOLD BACK DOOR IN PLACE. STILL WORTH THE MONEY IN MY OPINION, AND EASY TO USE AND CLEAN.
