Wonderful book with all the basic notions and feet information for a beginner. Easy beginner projects to learn from and apply all your newly learned skills. With this book, you can start sewing well and just keep going.

Nice book, not as described. I ordered the spiral one as pictured, which would be easier for me to use. The one I received was bound. I rated it 4 since it is a good to use to teach just not what it said it was.

I figured sewing was a skill I should probably learn, and just purchased my first sewing machine. I bought several books to go along with my machine, as I wasn't sure where to begin. I paged through most of them and grew intimidated by the sometimes undefined words, or instructions without enough images for me to grasp what needed to be done. This was the one book out of the four I purchased that I read from cover to cover immediately. This book is perfect for people like me, who have never sewn a stitch, or been around someone who has. I felt intimidated after unboxing my machine, but this book made me feel confident enough to begin my first project. In short, if you've never done a thing with sewing before and want to learn, this is the book you should start with. The images are clear, the directions are precise, and it goes into enough detail that I felt like I could progress without feeling frustrated.

All color with clear and concise directions. Very useful as i haven’t touched a sewing machine since HomeEc some 55 years ago…it all comes back, just a bit more slowly.

As I help my granddaughter learn to sew, this book helped me to refresh my skills and it will help her to better understand many of the tools used to complete a project. Very helpful.

I am super excited to get sewing with this beginners book! There is alot of information in the book that I will be referencing if I need to, I was undecided as to which beginners guide would be the best and chose this one to start me out because it was priced good and if not a complete beginners guide then it's at least a start for me. I have been flipping through the pages and instructions seem to be very clear, will update my review after I go over it more if there is anything else i need to add to this review

This book is best for those who have at least some understanding of how a sewing machine works. As someone who had never touched a sewing machine in their life, this book did not clearly explain how to wind the bobbin, load it, and then thread the machine. I had to watch many YouTube videos before I understood the steps of “setting up” your sewing machine (and yes, I did read the owners manual as well). Other than that, this book seems good at describing different types of seams and fabrics, and will help teach you how to actually sew a seam by learning. Would recommend this book to someone who knows how to work their sewing machine but needs to improve upon their sewing abilities.

Everything you will read here you can find it online because it is just a basic thing to know. But the book is well made.

As a newbie to sewing this book helps out step by step. I will most likely use this book together with the help of others when it comes to using a sewing machine.
