Better Than Otterbox & Gumdrop for Average Use
This is an awesome case for a great price. Make sure you order the one that is designed for your generation of iPad. The case fits very snugly and is lightweight, but sturdy. The case does not add very much thickness or size to the iPad, yet it seems to provide great protection nonetheless. The screen protector is AWESOME in that you cannot even tell it is there once it is installed! Be careful when installing it, however, as you may trap dust or pet hair under it if you are not careful/quick enough. I didn't notice that I had trapped a speck until after I had completed installation, so I had to take it apart to get rid of the speck. I would not want to do that multiple times. My stepdaughter, who has severe Down Syndrome, had an Otterbox for her previous device at home, which was an iPod, and she was obsessed with peeling the rubber back off of it from the edges. She successfully ruined the Otterbox in less than a day. With the Supcase on her new iPad, she has not been tempted to do this, nor would the tougher/stiffer rubber material or design of the case allow her to do so. The construction and installation is such that it is fairly difficult to disassemble for a child once it is installed. However, after watching the 30 second installation video, any neurotypical adult can probably install and uninstall this case fairly quickly as needed (in less than a minute). I had no trouble with it, anyway. The case DOES NOT need to be removed to charge the iPad (but I charge it with a cord, not with a dock, as we have an iPad Air 2). Furthermore, as a teacher of students with autism, I have seen and worked with Otterboxes and Gumdrops for iPads and this case beats them both in my opinion. I can't attest to its ability to protect the iPad from a determined throw or frequent drops, but it feels very sturdy - at least as sturdy as an Otterbox (if not more sturdy). The Gumdrop may be more your style if you want more throw/drop protection, but this one is plenty good for average use and protection from gunk/spills/the occasional drop, and its screen protector (not to mention size, weight, and style) is much nicer than the Gumdrop's, I think. With this case on, our iPad has been dropped a couple of times from a moderate height (like out of an adult's hands) on wooden flooring. It has also had pop spilled next to/on it. The case has successfully protected the iPad from both kinds of incidents so far, even though I do not believe it is 100% waterproof. This case is worth a try if you aren't looking for bomb-worthy protection - after all, you can always return it to Amazon if you don't like it.

A Life-Saving, Toddler-Proof, Apocalypse-Ready iPad Case
Look, I’m not exaggerating when I say this iPad case is the greatest invention since sliced bread—or, if we're being real, probably since the invention of the iPad itself. As a parent to a toddler who has the subtlety of a sledgehammer and the coordination of a drunk giraffe, this case is not just a “nice to have,” it is a necessity. Without it, I’m fairly sure I’d be living in a house with zero working electronics, a broken heart, and a collection of shattered screens that would make a tech store look like a war zone. Let’s talk about durability for a second. This thing is practically indestructible. I once watched my toddler launch my iPad across the room (because, why not?)—and in that moment, I truly feared for its life. But nope, the iPad case caught it mid-air like a superhero diving to save a falling kitten. It’s like the case has been imbued with the power of 10,000 armored tanks and the resolve of a mother watching a toddler hold a spoon for the first time: "This will end in disaster, but it must be done." My kid is a literal wrecking ball. She has used my iPad as a stepping stool, a teething ring, and—my personal favorite—an emergency flotation device during bath time (don’t ask). But every single time, the case just laughs in the face of danger. It’s like the Chuck Norris of iPad cases. Drops? Not even a scratch. Spills? Please, the case laughs in the face of liquid. The iPad’s screen protector? Untouched. Now let’s talk about grip—because if your toddler is anything like mine, they’ve probably tried to turn the iPad into some sort of slippery slip-n-slide where the device is launching out of their hands with all the grace of a greased watermelon. But this case? Game over. It’s got grips so solid that even my toddler’s little sausage fingers can’t manage to make it slip out of her hands. Seriously, the thing sticks to their hands like it’s a long-lost, superglued friend. She’s like, "I got this, Mom!" And I’m like, “You sure? Because last time, you tried to turn the iPad into a hammer and a chew toy.” But she can’t drop it. She just can’t. This case has powers beyond comprehension. And the design? If Apple had known toddlers were going to get their hands on their devices, they would’ve hired this case to design the entire iPad. The colors are like a toddler’s dream come true—black, bold, and practically begging to be squished, poked, and drooled on. I’ve watched my kid walk around, gripping the iPad like she’s got a million-dollar business deal to close, and honestly? I’ve never been more proud. Lastly, the sound holes. Parents, do you ever find yourself yelling, “PLEASE TURN IT DOWN!” because your child’s game sounds like a symphony of jackhammers? Well, with this case, the audio comes out crystal clear, without the eardrum-shattering echoes that usually follow a game of “How Loud Can We Make the iPad Without Mom Having a Meltdown?” In conclusion, this iPad case isn’t just a “nice” addition to your device; it is the armor your iPad never knew it needed. It’s the guardian angel that protects your technology from your tiny, unpredictable whirlwind of destruction. If you’re a parent to a toddler, you NEED this case in your life—because your iPad's future survival depends on it. Five stars doesn’t even come close to doing this iPad case justice. If I could give it ten thousand stars, I would. And then I would leave a review where I talk about how this case single-handedly saved my sanity, preserved my screen, and won the battle against toddler chaos. BUY THIS CASE NOW, and thank me later. Your iPad (and your sanity) will thank you.

Durable, safe, secure... The best case, at an amazing price
I purchased this case here on Amazon shortly after purchasing my iPad Air. I bought an iPad in the first place because I knew I would need it for flight school. So I needed it to be well protected. I refused to open my iPad box until I had a case to put it into straight away (yeah, I'm just that clumsy) and this case looked like the right product for me. I'm usually partial to OtterBox cases, but seeing their price for a similar case, I decided to try my Amazon luck. Talk about an amazing case. This case is big, and will definitely change the way your iPad feels in your hands, but in a good way. It feels truly secure in this thing. The case is a LITTLE difficult to get on the first time (the switch to turn off the ringer is the hardest part), but it gets easier if you ever have to take it off and put it back on. All of the buttons work well with this case, but the slider switch to turn off the ringer is almost impossible to get to. Not that it's very useful on an iPad, anyway (at least in my experience). The thing that worried be about this case was what if I drop my iPad on something? The protective plastic over the screen is nice and durable, but it still worried me. I bought a generic flip-folio thing, one that will prop the iPad up when open, and will cover the screen when closed, and with some work, I was able to get the iPad with the case into the straps. The side of the iPad sticks out of the folio a couple centimeters, but it works, and that's what I care about. All in all, this is a fantastic case. Difficult to get on and off, but that's a good thing! That means this case fits on like a glove, giving the iPad the most protection possible. Seriously, thank you, SUPCASE, for this great product at a phenomenal price.

Good product over all with one minor flaw
I received my order on time and in good condition. It was easy to slid my ipad into. The back is durable and so far its holding up to everyday use and the occasional drops. My only issue is that that screen protector doesn't fit flush against my ipad so there is a bit of a gap. I can live with it though. The edges are protected nicely and all the ports, buttons and switch are well covered. The rotation switch is deep to reach so you would have to really use your nail if you have a large hand(fingers). Be careful sliding it in as that switch may get caught. Once the case is on its hard to get off so there is no shifting around of the ipad in the case. I would suggest this product if you don't want to spend otter box money on your device. It doesn't have a separate face cover but that is not something I really need. Once the case is on, the iPad and case are heavy. The boarder(the gray part) is like a tougher rubber maybe but its good in my opinion. Overall, I like the product. It has kept my ipad well protected. I have had it for maybe 2 months now and I don't have any issues with it. Just be mindful of that gap between the screen protector and the screen of the iPad. It doesn't interfere too much with using the screen but there are times when I would have to tap something more than once. I would give it a 4.5 for that little gap issue

An Honest Review - Please Read
I recently got this beetle case for my iPad air. I had a concern for buying this case because a few reviews talked about how hard the installation was and how some of their iPads were scratched installing the case. I had ordered an otter box but unfortunately it was taking forever to ship (3+weeks not through amazon) so I just ordered this one instead regardless of concerns. Once I got the case and watched the installation video, I must say the people who had a problem installing the case must not have been the brightest bunch... It was incredible easy, and probably took 15-20 seconds. The fit of the case is remarkable, extremely solid design. The screen cover sits very tight as well (at first I did not like the feel of the plastic screen, it felt rough...but after you use it for 10-15 minutes it gets glossy smooth and feels identical to the screen of the iPad) Everywhere I bring it people ask what case I have and where I got it. It's cool looking and sturdy, providing a rugged protection but not taking away from the reason of having an iPad air (lightweight and thin) I have 0 regrets in bailing on the otter box case and getting this one...which was half price of the otter box case. Get this case you won't regret it. UPDATE: recently I was walking up a flight of stairs and tripped. My iPad was in my hands and I accidentally dropped it over the railing. It fell all the way to the first floor (about 10 feet) and hit the hard ground right on its side.... I was almost sure my iPad air would be broken. But not one problem, which I am certain without this case I would have been screwed.

Speaking as a long-time OtterBox fan, I have to admit I like this case better
I have been an Otter Box fan for years, but have become weary of the high prices they demand. So--I was a bit dubious when considering this lower-cost option. However, those doubts were assuaged when I read the reviews, and the videos about this cover. Even though there are some negative things said about this product, you have to figure that many of them are misunderstandings, or improper installation. Some folks just complain to complain, I guess. Regardless of the negative-ninnies, I ordered one for my new iPad Air anyway. When I received this unit I was not disappointed at all. After following the installation instruction video provided by the manufacturer, I had absolutely NO PROBLEM installing this case at all. It took me about one minute. All the ports and cutouts for the various connections were absolutely PERFECT. The case is very solid, good-looking, and fits very well: it fits snugly and provides excellent protection--at HALF the cost of an Otter Box. The screen protector is, in my opinion, better than the ones provided by Otter Box. It is pristine in clarity and the iPad works perfectly--to the point of seemingly not being there at all. The home button and volume buttons work like nothing is there, as well. The ports open easily and seal tight. The camera (s) and speakers are absolutely unhindered also. One heads-up, though: be sure to SLIDE your device into this case, and be sure to check the "silent" slider, as it will be pushed into the mute position while installing. Watch the videos provided by other reviewers, and most definitely watch the manufacturers video--don't just assume you know how to install this case because it IS different than the others, in-that it is not a silicone inside that fits into the pvc outer shell. The device slides into the front piece containing the screen saver, and then that fits into the back, which has the silicone molded into the back. I don't regret this purchase in any way. While it IS different from the Otter Box, it is an excellent case. I do miss the kickstand, though. That is my only criticism of this product.

Thank the maker for SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle cases!!!
My entire family is a SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle family. 2-iPads and 3-phones each are wrapped snugly and securely in these attractive, colorful, amazing, and extremely durable contraptions. I am such a fan of these cases that I almost didn't get my son his 1st cell phone because initially they didn't make a case for the Motorola G6. We still got it temporarily settling for a knock-off "Unicorn Beetle LIKE" case. I was thrilled to learn when SUPCASE put out a case for the G6 and I immediately got one to replace the cheap piece of garbage we originally went with. As for our iPads as with all of our devices the fit is about as snug as you can get. Each port is protected by a durable flap along with the screen and backsides protected by the very nice and durable cover. Minor grips are we've had problems with finding head phone jacks that fit with the case on. The opening is restricted by the case surrounding the headphone jack. We found a set of headphones with a narrower jack and overcame the issue. Also, BT headphones are a great alternative to corded headphones. Otherwise my biggest gripe is just getting the case initially installed on the devices with absolutely no lint or other debris under the screen cover is challenging. I'm very picky about having nothing under a screen cover. It's annoying. I've done it enough now though that I've got it down. It is an art... Having a lint free cloth and continually wiping until there's nothing visible and then quickly installing the case has been my trick. I don't view either of these gripes as worthy of affecting my review rating. These problems exist with most cases and so you overcome, which we have... Other than those two insignificant issues, I have absolutely no other complaints. I will also say for one of my Samsung S9+s I saw their blue case options was on back-order and after deciding to still order it, I called after a couple of days to get an ETA and they were very apologetic and offered to send me a pink colored case at no charge. I took them up on it and I actually like the pink case a lot and am still using it after a year. They also still mailed me the originally ordered blue case. We have couple of blue cases in the house so having one as distinct as the pink color, I'm able to find my phone with no problem. Durability wise every device we have has been able to handle every drop we've thrown at it with no problem. Even the occasional toss from across the room and missed catch. No problems. We are thrilled with SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle cases and highly recommend them. You won't be disappointed!

GREAT Case and price. Almost as good as Otterbox
I have both cases-- the SUPCASE and the OTTERBOX DEFENDER on 2 iPad Airs. OTTERBOX-- this is the case on our work iPads. It has withstood throws and spills from our special education students. My iPad with the Otterbox doubles as my work iPad--- I use it to type documents/notes so the included cover with stand is necessary. When the cover is locked into the back of the iPad it also doubles down on the edge protection. SUPCASE-- this I have on our personal home iPad Air. I was skeptical, but wasn't thrilled about spending close to 25% of the purchase price of our Air on a case. We have a 2 year old who uses it so it needs good protection though. The case looks almost identical to the Otterbox. Looking closely, the Supcase has beveled its corners and edges, and has some "cut outs" that help cut down on the weight and bulk of the case. It still leaves ample protection for a 2 year old accidentally dropping it or falling off chairs and couches. If I had a child who throws the iPad or you're worried about larger falls (say dropping it on cement in a construction site) I'd go with the Otterbox. It is a bit bulkier (not that noticeable) and offers more protection. For personal use the SUPCASE does have a noticeably better screen cover-- the screen is much brighter and true to the Air sans cover. UPDATE: the Supcase has survived many throws and drops. It protected the iPad when a glass of milk spilled on top of it. As with the Otterbox also- when a direct liquid spill occurs you need to take the iPad out of the case and wipe down any areas where liquid got in. The Supcase, however- broke in a corner as I was trying to get the iPad out of the case. The Otterbox I've removed many times with no problem. The plastic of the Supcase just seems more brittle- it will have to be replaced.

Wonderful! Couldn't fit more perfectly and I'm impressed by how sensitive my screen still is. It's heavier than I was hoping for but it certainly is sturdy and safe. I'm pleased!
