1027819 Dime Mini Multi-Tool Black

Tiny but effective tiny multitool. Got all the necessary bits and smaller than my thumb, so the smallest functional device. No locking blade so compatible with UK carry legislation. Package cutter surprisingly effective, scissors and pliers good too but very small so will be relatively delicate unlike my "big" Gerber multitool.

I collect multi tools and can recommend the gerber Dime.Its a really handy piece for the pocket and has useful functions.The scissors work effectively as do all the other components on the piece.It’s available in a range of colours which may be appealing to a collector.A great little tool.

Firstly off the bat this is a miniature multitool at a low price so your not going to get high end steels and over engineering. This is a very modest little guy that offers alot of "get you by" tools for minor tinkering tasks. The Dime mini seems to be better built than the disappointing Gerber Splice as all the tool depltment operate smoothly and are not gritty or crunchy. My Dime did not have the greatest edge on the blade as it arrived pretty dull but 10 mins on the sharpening stones soon had it razor sharp. So overall for the Dime i would recommend this as a keychain multitool where its better to have something over nothing and in that aspect its a great little multitool.

The small non-lockable blade makes this a great choice for EDC in the UK. Build quality is what you would expect from Gerber. Box opener is a great feature. I have used this daily for opening all sorts of boxes and packaging. The blade is still sharp! One improvement could be made in the pliers. They aren’t useful for much. Once you apply any sort of pressure, the jaws just slip and miss align.

For the size and price - this packs a punch and I've found this a great tool and easy to use, the pliers work great, the blades needed a little sharpening though but fine for opening packages. The tweezers and scissors are OK but much prefer my Victorinox ones which are far superior. I've paired this with an Olight i1R 2 for a black micro EDC keyring to use in a pinch.

Gerber is always a good make. Great for the everyday things, box opening, needing to screw something in. Sharp and very lightweight. This will last a long time and has pretty decent functionality

Returned as not really what I needed. File was too short and blocked by the bottle opener so not useable, blade is rounded so doesn’t work well for opening boxes, pliers flex a bit more than expected. Difficult as probably what should be expected for a mini tool but just not useable

1) It's very tight. I keep breaking my nails trying to get the tools out. 2) None of the cutting implements are very sharp. 3) The small screwdriver becomes thick very quickly up the handle, if that makes sense. So if your screw is in a hole, which a lot of small screws are, the driver is useless for no apparent reason. But, this is far cheeper than any of the compatible tools I've seen, and everything basically works, so I'd still say it's decent. The stiffness should get better with time (hopefully) and the cutting tools can be sharpened if it's really an issue.

This is the second one I bought. The first one got confiscated by TSA at the airport. Good quality, size is great, good value for the money. I'm even planning on buying some to give as gifts

Auf der Suche nach einem alltagstauglichen Mini-Multiwerkzeug habe ich das Gerber Vise und das Gerber Dime bestellt. Hier ein paar Worte zum "Dime": Das gute Stück wurde in einer Blisterverpackung geliefert. Diese war unter Zuhilfenahme eines Tools schweizerischer Herkunft rasch geöffnet. Dennoch ist die Art der Verpackung eigentlich eine Frechheit und wäre Grund für eine Abwertung. Das bleibt aber außer Betracht... Das Gerber Dime liegt angenehm wertig (für den moderaten Preis) in der Hand. Bei Aufklappen wackelt soweit nichts. Die Zange ist im Vergleich zum "Vise" etwas filigraner, macht aber nicht den Eindruck, dass sie beim Anblick des ersten Drahts gleich in die ewigen Jagdgründe einzieht. Gut. Die Werkzeuge stellen sich nicht fest. Sie rasten aber doch halbwegs stabil ein, so dass man nicht gleich Verletzungen beim Gebrauch befürchten muss. Die Auswahl der Werkzeuge finde ich gegenüber dem "Vise" stimmiger. Die Klinge ist angenehm scharf geliefert und für die Größe des Werkzeugs ausreichend robust. Die Schere stellt (meiner Meinung nach) doch einen Mehrwert gegenüber den zwei Klingen (normal und Wellenschliff) des "Vise" dar. Sie ist durchaus brauchbar. Die Schraubendreher (einer "flach", einer in der Art eines Kreuzschraubendrehers) lassen sich jeweils über einen Nagelhau problemlos öffenen. Eigentlich eine Selbstverständlichkeit, nicht aber beim "Vise", wo sich der "Kreuzschaubendreher" mangels Raste nicht so einfach öffnen lässt. Ob man den Paketschneider braucht, muss jeder für sich entscheiden. Ich hätte mir da vielleicht eine Minisäge gewünscht, vielleicht wäre das etwas für eine neuere Generation. Eine kleine Besonderheit ist der Flaschenöffner. Dieser ist nicht wie bei anderen Tools "einklappbar", sondern quasi fest als "Wurmfortsatz" im Griffteil integriert. Auf den ersten Blick ein störendes Element. Es fällt im Alltag aber erfreulich wenig auf und stört tatsächlich überhaupt nicht. Und im Gegensatz zum Vise greift der Öffner bei handelsüblichen Kronkorken sehr gut. Daumen hoch. Und am Ende des Tages? Ich würde wegen der stimmigeren Auswahl der Werkzeuge und der besseren Erreichbarkeit derselben jederzeit das "Dime" bevorzugen.

J'étais à la recherche d'un outil multifonction suffisamment compact pour tenir dans ma poche de jean sans se faire remarquer, et le Gerber Dime est tout simplement parfait pour ça. C'est le complément idéal à avoir sur soi en permanence, pour toutes ces petites situations où l'on se dit "il me faudrait une pince ou un couteau". Pourquoi je le recommande : Ultra-compact et léger : C'est vraiment sa force. Il est si petit qu'il s'oublie complètement dans une poche ou au bout d'un trousseau de clés, tout en restant extrêmement robuste grâce à la qualité de fabrication Gerber. Fonctions essentielles bien pensées : Malgré sa taille, il regorge d'outils très utiles au quotidien. La pince est étonnamment précise, le coupe-fil fonctionne à merveille, et la lame est bien affûtée dès la sortie de boîte. Mention spéciale pour l'ouvre-colis qui évite d'utiliser la lame principale et permet de ne pas l'émousser. Qualité Gerber : On sent immédiatement la différence avec les imitations bas de gamme. Les articulations sont fluides, le métal est solide et la finition noire est non seulement élégante, mais elle semble aussi très résistante aux rayures. Le système d'ouverture : Tous les outils sont accessibles sans avoir à déplier la pince, ce qui est un gain de temps énorme quand on veut juste couper un bout de ficelle ou ouvrir un paquet rapidement. En résumé : Si vous cherchez un outil "Everyday Carry" (EDC) fiable et discret, le Gerber Dime est le choix numéro un. Il ne remplacera pas une boîte à outils complète, mais pour le bricolage d'appoint, le camping ou les petits services quotidiens, il est imbattable. Un petit bijou d'ingénierie
