Fun way to learn a new skill.
I loved this thing. It came with everything you need to start screen printing. The emulsifier was easy to mix my only issue was I didnโt have a dark space to let it dry but thatโs solved with a closet and bin. Also make sure your water is warm when you wash off the burned emulsifier.

exellent starter kit
ive been dabbling in screen printing for a few years now. the local art store only sells speedball products so i was already familiar with the brand. switching from the drawing fluid method to photo emulsion i wanted a good starter set up. the bulb burnt out after one use and they are quite expensive to purchase and never have a long lifespan anyway. average a few hours i think. either way i use clear 200 watt bulbs instead now but everything that is included in this kit is great and it is an amazing deal. way less expensive than it would cost at the art store in my town. absolutely everything you need is in this kit and the dvd and chart included are of great use. the dvd also covers other methods of screen printing. for anyone looking to get started this kit is a must!

Patience required
Overall I am very satisfied with this "complete" kit. It takes patience and some trial and error to get it right. I wouldn't say that I achieved professional results but seeing how this was my first time I am satisfied. Printing with an ink jet printer was no problem, make sure you print on the correct side and it dries almost instantly. To check which side dampen your finger and touch a corner of the sheet, if it feels tacky that is the correct size. For me the emulsion was a bit challenging. Mixing it is no problem, applying it evenly took two attempts. Quite messy. The first time I tried to set, "burn", the image it didn't work. I used the suggested exposure time in the instructions but as I was rinsing it out the green emulsion peeled off in large pieces. The included emulsion remover worked great and after drying the screen I re-applied the emulsion. I added 3 minutes and it came out great. It took a while to rinse out the unwanted emulsion but it looked great. I did use a very soft bristle brush to touch up a few spots. Spreading the ink required a little practice, using an old t-shirt with a logo helped me decide where to place my shirt under the screen. The negative comments I have are related to how the product was packaged in the original box. The the red and blue ink leaked, since it is water based it was easy to clean. The screen didn't get any ink on it but the transfer paper did. The two included sheets were creased because they are in the box loose. I was able to use one of them. The light was damaged and I had to bend it back in shape to use it. The bulb lasted for a total of 23 minutes, the bulbs have a short life but possibly due to the way the package arrived it could have damaged. One item missing to be a complete, or more complete kit, is a sheet of plexiglass. The instructions say to use a sheet of clear plexiglass or glass to lay on top of the transfer paper when burning the image to hold it down. I took the glass out of an old picture frame and used that. My suggestions; read the instructions a few times, expect to make mistakes and be patient. There are several videos on the internet for reference. Practice on an old shirt or fabric pieces.

This kit made it so easy for me to learn this process and realize I wanted to take this farther.
This was a great deal and includes everything you would need to get started. I built a simple wooden one color press I saw on youtube and it helped speed up the printing process with some accuracy. The light bulb is a short term "3 hour" bulb but mine is still working after burning 8 screens. The emulsion you get in the kit will coat about 4 screens. We have printed up several shirts and tote bags for our business. This is a great package to test the waters and see if this is something you want to do. Our local Hobby stores carry this brand so I was able to pick up some extra screens and material. I have since bought a 4 color press and this weekend I am excited to pick up our 6 color press. I also found a local supply store that I have been purchasing commercial products from as I grow from this kit. This kit made it so easy for me to learn this process and realize I wanted to take this farther. The video provided does not completely explain the process but I did so much research on youtube that I was able to pick up the kit and start immediately. This is great if you are testing the waters or if you have a project. The inks provided are water-based and air dry well except the white. I found that you need to hit the white ink with the hot setting on a hair dryer for a few minutes or it will crack after the first wash. Everything that came with this kit will continue to be used as I grow my system. I will probably only use these smaller screens for tote bags or small print jobs since I now own several 20x24 commercial aluminum screens. I can't say enough good things about this as a starter kit. I really gave me the confidence I needed to spend $2,500 on professional equipment!

Easy to Maneuver for First Time Silk Screening
There is a slight learning curve to emulsification however, this kit has been the best value dollar wise for large scale silk screen printing as it is the longest lasting result I have tried to date. I have used the drawing paint method using Speedball products and found the edges of images to be a bit fuzzy and hard to control the screen filler thickness. I have use the vinyl sticker method which I have found to bleed and lose adhesion with high volume use and rarely does it survive high volume use. This took some time to emulsify correctly but the ability to reclaim screens makes this a process that can be redone until perfect or for multiple designs. Once the emulsification process is understood, the rest falls into place. Used this to make at least 8 screens for an entire grade to silkscreen multiple items in multiple colors and it lasted all the way through. Great bundle!

Okay for the price...
The kit seems like it will be a good starting point, but unfortunately the bottle of emulsion remover spilled in the box and everything is covered. Would recommend based on items included but be mindful as it appears the spilling is a common issue, and for the amount spent that's not a great situation.

Arrived in perfect condition, good quality products
Tbh I saw the comments on the ink leakage issue after I bought this and I was a little bit worried but it came in perfect condition. But the caps weren't fully tightened on some of the inks, the seal was intact so there was no spillage whatsoever. I bought another speedball neon ink set to use with this kit. The neon ones had some spilled ink due to the soft package it was sent in, and probably got squeezed while in transit. Please use hard boxes for every packaging. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase.

Came Already Opened Like so Many Others Said, Everything Just Tossed In. Box in Terrible Shape
This is terrible product presentation. I bought this as a gift and it came in a torn and crumpled box, jars just thrown in, can't even flip it over to wrap it. It's the thought that counts? Well, if my thoughts were to give a gift already opened, trashed, and returned, then hey, Merry Christmas! There are so many other reviews stating this same thing happened to them, but I thought the chances of that happening to me would be low. Maybe this box is like the Christmas fruitcake that keeps getting passed around families for generations. One box continually purchased, opened, kicked, sat on, and finally returned. What stinks is that I'm the sucker who got stuck with it to gift to my daughter. Very, very poor product presentation SpeedBall! You should take a little pride in your product and stop sending out junky looking items. And Amazon, too. You should take these reports and urge the seller to up their game or get out. Highly disappointed. Buyer Beware. This will very likely happen to you as well.

I paid for a NEW product NOT a USED product
Very disappointed. Was awaiting for this excitedly but when I saw the tear on the box (where the tape was) I knew the worse has came. Just like how other reviewers had feedback that their products were opened and used, the one I received was badly used. The Dixo was EMPTY. Out of the 4 inks in the box, THREE were opened and used terribly. The black one was half gone. The red one has ink spilling everywhere I donโt even want to touch it further to prove it. I was really excited to buy this ๐ญ but this is not what I expected and paid for.

Great way to start a hobby
My wife heat presses iron on shirts in her small business, so I wanted to give something a try to make a little more high quality stuff. This was pretty cool kit with all you need to make your first prints. MAKE SURE you watch some videos, I sat mine in the sun to dry and immediately regretted it when the emulsion baked on so hard that I couldn't get it off. It wound up using almost all the emulsion remover and had to pressure wash the screen for close to half an hour. Overall it's a great kit, with a couple under my belt I have ordered some different types of plastisol paint to try out.
