"The perfect binge listen." โ Yahoo Lifestyle Instant #1 New York Times bestseller. The Silent Patient is a shocking psychological thriller of a womanโs act of violence against her husbandโand of the therapist obsessed with uncovering her motive. Alicia Berensonโs life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of Londonโs most desirable areas. One evening her husband Gabriel returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face, and then never speaks another word. Aliciaโs refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety. The price of her art skyrockets, and she, the silent patient, is hidden away from the tabloids and spotlight at the Grove, a secure forensic unit in North London. Theo Faber is a criminal psychotherapist who has waited a long time for the opportunity to work with Alicia. His determination to get her to talk and unravel the mystery of why she shot her husband takes him down a twisting path into his own motivationsโa search for the truth that threatens to consume him.... More praise for The Silent Patient: โAbsolutely brilliantโฆ I read it in a state of intense, breathless excitement.โ โ Stephen Fry โSmart, sophisticated storytelling freighted with real suspense - a very fine novel by any standard.โ โ Lee Child โ The Silent Patient sneaks up on you like a slash of intimidating shadow on a badly lit street. Michaelides has crafted a totally original, spellbinding psychological mystery so quirky, so unique that it should have its own genre.โ โ David Baldacci Review: Alex Michaelidesโs The Silent Patient - I really enjoyed The Silent Patient! It is a gripping psychological thriller filled with suspense, mystery, and unexpected twists. The story follows Alicia Berenson, a famous painter who suddenly stops speaking after being accused of murdering her husband. The plot is intriguing and keeps you guessing as the truth slowly unfolds. The characters are complex, the atmosphere is tense, and the ending is truly surprising. An engaging and unforgettable readโI would definitely recommend it! Review: A Tragic Mind Wrapped in Silence - The Silent Patient was incredibly interesting, and once I started it, I couldnโt put it down. The mystery kept me turning pages, and if Iโm honest, part of me never fully believed Alicia did it. I wanted to believe she had been set up. I wanted her to be the victim. In many ways, she was. Rather than a helpless bird fallen from its nest, Alicia felt more like a flower slowly crushed beneath a stoneโtrapped, suffocating, and unable to grow. She was emotionally defeated, and by the time she acted, it felt as though she believed she had already died inside. What followed was simply the final response to years of psychological torment. The characters were interesting overall, although some felt underdeveloped and were used so sparingly that they seemed more like plot devices than fully realized people. The ending, while satisfying in some respects, felt rushedโsomething I often find with thrillers. It ended in tragedy, but perhaps there was a sense of earthly justice woven into it as well. The twist was good and kept me engaged, but it wasnโt the kind of shocking revelation that completely caught me off guard. Still, it was a compelling psychological thriller that explores betrayal, trauma, and the devastating consequences of emotional abuse. Definitely worth the read.

โSilence can say more than words ever could.โ
โญโญโญโญโญ I finally understand why so many people recommend this book. Iโll admit itโthe beginning was a slow burn for me. It took a little while to find its rhythm, and I had moments where I struggled to stay focused. But once the story hit its stride, I couldnโt put it down. Every chapter had me questioning what I thought I knew, and every new revelation made me rethink everything that came before it. One of my favorite things about this book is that it doesnโt hand you easy answers or paint its characters as simply โgoodโ or โbad.โ Everyone feels damaged, flawed, and incredibly human. I found myself understanding characters I didnโt necessarily agree with, and thatโs what made this story so compelling. I also loved how art was woven into the story. Looking back, there were so many subtle details and pieces of foreshadowing hiding in plain sight. Itโs the kind of book that makes you want to immediately start over just to catch everything you missed the first time. The ending genuinely caught me off guard. I had several theories while reading, but none of them came close. When everything finally clicked into place, I just sat there trying to process what Iโd read. Those are my favorite kinds of thrillersโthe ones that leave you staring into space long after youโve turned the last page. If youโre looking for nonstop action from page one, this may feel a little slow at first. But if you enjoy psychological thrillers that reward patience, challenge your assumptions, and leave you thinking after theyโre over, this one is absolutely worth the ride. Alex Michaelides delivered a story that is haunting, intelligent, and impossible to forget. A solid five stars.

Instagram TY Best Novels of the Summer!
Where do I start ... thanks to Instagram, I found a new favorite author!!! Alex Michaelides, his writing captivates the reader instantly, the story-line is addictive, insightful and of course suspenseful, a little Agatha Christie like, yet Alex brings a blend of intense psychological twists and turns making every novel a real page turner! I bought them all, plus the audio read is fantastic, personally the English accent adds to each highly creative read. This is storytelling brought to its highest level and his last novel uses the fourth wall ... lets say I am still at the bar with Elliot! ***** stars to all three novels, Silent Patient, The Maidens and The Fury ! Cannot wait for number four! CHEERS to Best New Author ... Alex Michaelides! BRAVO!

(No spoilers) A decent book, not great
*No spoilers in my review* This book was fine, a solid 3 stars. To me, 3 stars means that it held my attention enough to look forward to reading it and was good enough to make it to the end. Interesting premise, unexpected ending, not super predictable. However, it lost 2 stars because it was just written so plainly and there were plot holes, loose ends, and mismatches that to me seemed like lazy writing. Not to sound pretentious, but it felt like a 5-star book for a simpleton who isnโt going to think too deeply about it. But if you consider yourself someone who is craving a story that is FULLY fleshed out and completely clever or beautifully written, youโll be left slightly disappointed with this one.

Good book
The Silent Patient is a gripping psychological thriller that drew me in from the opening pages. The mystery surrounding Aliciaโs silence kept me curious, while Theoโs determination to uncover the truth gave the story a strong sense of urgency. I particularly enjoyed the short chapters and steady pacing, which made the book difficult to put down. The psychological elements were intriguing, although some parts felt slightly repetitive and a few characters could have been explored more deeply. The final twist was cleverly constructed and made me reconsider many of the clues scattered throughout the story. Although I guessed that something was not quite right, I did not predict the full truth behind what happened. Overall, this was an absorbing and memorable thriller that deserves its popularity, even if it was not flawless.

What a plot twist!!!
It was a gripping read. It kept me guessing throughout the story. More than one twist caught me by surprise. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. It was easy to read and I especially liked how the writer kept me guessing all the way to the end. There were so many things that just didnโt make sense until it all starts to become clear at the end. I donโt believe I would change anything about this book. It is definitely thrilling. I would definitely recommend this book. Especially for those who enjoy a bit of a thrilling mystery, with an unpredictable twist.

Thought it a brilliant read
To be honest, I was unsure about what I felt about the book as I was reading it... but I just couldn't put it down. The story evolves into itself and grows deeper and darker without ever putting the reader off or losing the train of thought. Many times I was wondering how subplot connected, but did not expect the manner in which it did. Brilliant! What an amazing plot. Enjoyed it very much. Strongly recommended... if you enjoy the twists and turns of the human psyche.

(English version) Excellent psychological thriller...
... with a superb twist at the end. Quite a harrowing tale, and at first quite slow reading... basically because the patient is silent, so there's not much dialogue! But as the narrative broadens, the story becomes a real page-turner. The conclusion is a work of genius, in fact this is super writing, thoroughly recommended.

Highly Recommended
The Silent Patient revolves around Alicia Berenson, a famous painter who is accused of murdering her husband, Gabriel. After the incident, Alicia completely stops speaking, refusing to explain what happened. Theo Faber, a psychotherapist, becomes fascinated by her case. Determined to make Alicia speak again, he sets out to uncover the truth behind Gabriel's murder and understand why Alicia chose silence. This was a mind-blowing thriller for me. Throughout the story, I kept making guesses about the mystery, and every single time, I was wrong. The suspense kept me hooked from beginning to end. As I reached the final pages, I started to predict part of the truth, but the actual twist still shocked me. I even went back and reread some pages because I thought I had misunderstood something. The revelation was both surprising and unforgettable. Although I was hoping for a different ending, I still enjoyed the book overall. I also wished there had been more clarity and closure regarding certain events and characters. Nevertheless, the suspense, psychological depth, and unexpected plot twist made it a highly engaging and memorable read.
