A beautifully-illustrated story about a girl who longs for magic in her life and learns that, on the inside, she already is what she wishes she could be. Reminiscent of Studio Ghibli, this lushly-drawn story was voted one of the top 10 manga of the year in 2018 by the Japanese manga industry. AN INKY INVESTIGATION Cast yourself into the world of witches as Qifrey chases after the dark mysteries of the Brimmed Caps! With some quick thinking and ingenuity, Coco and her fellow classmates use their growing magic skills to save some locals from a grim fate. But this triumph nearly turns to tragedy as the Knights Moralis threaten the young witches with severe punishment for disturbing the natural order of magic. Qifrey convinces the Knights to overlook this issue, but a peculiar happening related to this incident puts him onto the trail of the same forbidden magic that brought Coco into his atelier. This may be Qifrey's only chance to come into contact with the Brimmed Caps, but is he in over his head to engage in this treacherous pursuit on his own? Review: An amazing fantasy manga series! - Series Info/Source: This is the third book in the Witch Hat Atelier series. I bought this book. Story (5/5): I continue to thoroughly enjoy the story here. This picks up right where volume 2 left off, the young apprentices have rescued some villagers from a horrible accident but to do so they had to perform magic in public. Qifrey convinces the Knights to overlook this and ends up finding out that the ink Coco used to draw the spells is very strange indeed. Qifrey finds out that the Brimmed Caps are involved with the strange ink and decides to use this chance to contact them. The story moves quickly and covers a lot of ground, while being intriguing and engaging. Characters (5/5): I absolutely love the characters in this series as well. The relationship between the apprentices and the way Qifrey looks over them is very endearing. The mystery of the Brimmed Caps is also well done and I can’t wait to learn more about them. There are never too many characters and all of them have a lot of depth to them and are very fun to read about. Setting (5/5): I love the magical world this story is set in. We are gradually getting to learn more about this world of witches and magic. The world is well thought out and very creative and I have been absolutely loving it. Writing/Drawing Style (5/5): This is one of the most beautifully drawn manga I have ever read. It’s easy to read and very well put together. Everything about this series is spot on and just perfect. The story and illustration is easy to follow and incredibly entertaining. My Summary (5/5): Overall I really loved this continuation of the Witch Hat Atelier series. This series is beautifully drawn and has an amazing storyline. Me and my thirteen year old son both love it. It’s appropriate for middle grade and older readers and is quickly becoming one of my all time favorites. Review: Worth it - Very good, great story and art, very happy.

Enthralling
Started reading volume 1 and it was all over for me. I am totally hooked, having binged all the way through volume 3. The art has a level of detail higher than almost any manga I know of. With Level of detail It is easy to recognize the different characters just from their faces alone. The art reminds me of the manga version of that Ghibli movie "A...? of the wind", I think is how the name goes.

It's official: THIS is my new favorite manga series.
For those of you who left after Volume 2, you REALLY missed out the most amazing character arcs having to do with magic (and DRAWING!) that I've ever seen. I'll try my best not to spoil here but let's just say: A character we've seen before but know little about Has an ailment that prevents said character from doing magic to its fullest caliber. So Coco helps that character with magic HOWEVER If you read Book 1, you know its forbidden to use spells that affect the body and mind directly. (save for the memory wipe spell of course) So how does Coco help the character with magic? It's done in a non-lazy and VERY endearing way. Other than that, more world building is revealed, Qifrey does even more questionable and interesting things, and the artwork continues to be on the same level of detail as Kaoru Mori! (Mangaka of Emma and A Bride's Story, both good reads I highly recommend!) PLEASE give WHA one more chance with Volume 3, and if you stay, glad I could help and enjoy the ride! And if not, take care and good luck out there. :)

Great Manga
Amazon was the only carrier that had book 3 of the Witch Hat Atelier. I asked and look for it at my local comic book shops and if turned out that they were sold out OR they back ordered. I even tried getting it from Walmart but they failed my order. As for the book the art is soo wonderful, such a magical manga with a layout that makes your feel you are watching an anime and part of the magical world that lives outside the Atelier. Looking forward to books 4 and ahead.

Best volume so far
In this volume, the riverbank incident is resolved without anybody losing their memories and we learn why the incident happened thanks to a certain item. Qifrey also takes this magic to investigate it, and we see a bit more of the evil dudes. I appreciated the continued development of all the characters. I think they’ve been doing a good job of managing their cast. Also, recurring characters seem to get character development too such as Tartah. We can see the start of many plot threads from this onwards and this feels like the series is going in a good direction
