great
This is my 2nd crkt knife. My first that I still own and love is an m-16 z. The only complaint I have about that one is that it needs resharpening frequently but will take a shaving edge. I have carried it daily for 4 years now and finally decided to get a larger knife with better steel for my work as a paramedic. I really like the heft and size of this knife. I can see myself picking up.the trusty m-16 for times when maybe my pockets aren't as big but I can definitely see this m-21 becoming my edc the majority of the time. It came shaving sharp, the blade opens smoothly and if you have carried a knife with autolawks for any length of time u know one handed closing is just as easy as the opening. I am sold on crkt knives and will buy more. I gave my dad one for fathers day the same time I.got my first one. He never liked lockblades and was reluctant to use it. He has since fallen in love with that knife, carried it daily and has lost it. He replaced it with an m-16 titanium. These knives are well worth the money if you stay with the Taiwan made knives. I've never owned a Chinese one but the reviews here and my experience with the one I have that has Taiwan stamped on the blade tell me I made the right choice. Don't be afraid to spend the money, these are very good knives. I'm 40 years old and a farmboy and have packed a knife every day since I was a kid. You can't beat these in their price range and even some above it .

Better Quality than the M21-14SFG
Very happy with the M21-14SF. Seems well made; no detectable wobble in the blade, either open or closed. Opens and closes easily with one hand. With practice, one handed opening approaches that of a spring assisted knife (I have a spring assisted knife from another manufacturer of similar size and weight). One handed closing just takes a little practice. There are videos on the CRKT site and on YouTube that demonstrate the operation of the AutoLAWKS. I noticed that two reviewers gave low ratings due to the size and weight of this knife. At best, this boggles the mind. The size is clearly stated in the specs here on Amazon and even more detailed specs are provided on the CRKT web site. As stated by those reviewers, this is a LARGE folder. If that's not what you're looking for, consider a different model. Another reviewer stated that he prefers the M21-14SFG with the black G10 scales for a better grip. While I would also prefer the M21-14SFG for that reason, my experience with both knives is that the manufacturing quality control may be better on the aluminum M21-14SF. I have owned both the M21-14SF and the M21-14SFG, the difference being that M21-14SFG has the black G10 scales for improved grip while the M21-14SF has the smooth aluminum grips. The M21-14SFG is also less expensive that the M21-14SF. Unfortunately on closing, the blade of my M21-14SGF rubbed on the inside of the liner every time. Checking further, there was some slight side-to-side movement when the blade was fully closed; this movement is NOT present in my M21-14SF. On the M21-14SF, opening, closing and functioning of the AutoLAWKS and associated locking lever is silky smooth. No so much so on the M21-14SFG; the locking lever is much stiffer and harder to manipulate and overall quality seems to be a little cruder. Interestingly, the only other apparent difference is that the M21-14SFG is made in China whereas the M21-14SF is made in Taiwan. Was the problem I experienced with the blade of the M21-14SFG yet another example of inconsistent quality control on Chinese made products? VERY disappointed in the M21-14SFG! Have several CRKT knives and really like the Carson Flippers. Wanted the G10 scales of the M21-14SFG for the purported improved grip in the wet weather here is SE Louisiana, but in my opinion, the overall quality of the Chinese made M21-14SFG was below that of the Taiwan made M21-14SF. Returned the defective M21-14SFG to Amazon for a refund. Am purchasing another M21-14SF for a spare -- while they are still made in Taiwan! Recommend the M21-14SF - BUT - suggest you review the more detailed specs found on the CRKT web site (Google CRKT); this is a LARGE knife!

Best folding knife any outdoors men, survivalist, or prepper can have.
This is one solid folding knife coming out of the box. I love how the pocket clip can be switched from tip up, or tip down and even switched for left or right handed carry all with the same tip up or down carry. When I got the knife, I immediately went to switch the pocket clip from the tip down position to the tip up position (for right handed carry). I was amazed by the fact that the 3 little screws for the pocket clip had lock-tight on them. This is especially important to me since in the past, I had those cheap $15 chinese made pocket knives and those clip screws would come loose. Now i'm going to assume that the other screws had lock-tight on them, but I really don't know since I hadn't bothered to unscrew them. The auto-lawk doesn't really bother me so much. It doesn't take much just to use your index finger to work the safety and your thumb to work the liner lock in one hand. It's actually nice and makes it easier to close since I use the knuckle of the index finger that's activating the safety to bump flip of the knife closed. The other thing, the flippers on the knife are really nice when it comes to opening the knife. First off, using my index finger on the flipper makes for a quick opening, but also, I got to the point to where since my knife is carried tip up, can just catch one of the flippers onto the edge of my pocket and it will open on its own as I'm pulling the knife out. Takes some practice, but I got it down pretty well. Only down side of the knife is that it could be a lil sharper out of the box. Other than that, it's a fantastic knife. You definitely do get what you pay for in this case. I would definitely depend my life on this knife and this knife only if the situation ever rose. I would definitely recommend this folding knife for any outdoors men, survivalist, or prepper. *Update* Today I saw the main axle screw of the knife loosen up. I had to tighten it. This showed me that this screw does not come with loc tight. I just now took out the screw and squirt some loc tight on it. Should be good now.

Terrific knife, but pocket clip paint chips easily
Terrific knife. It is large and might not be suitable for EDC for many. Quality AUS 8 steel blade is easy to keep sharp. The aluminum handle feels good and fits well in my hand (and I have large hands). The only quibble is that the black paint on the pocket clip chips off easily, and I treat it fairly gently.
