Will this cord work in spain?

It should as long as the appliance you're using it on will operate on 220 volts.

If this is a 14 awg cable, shouldn't it be 2.08mm² in cross-sectional area? i see the cable says 1.5mm² in the 2nd picture.

The cable is about 8mm thick. I use it for a step up down transformer 3000 VA and it works well.
