HELLBOY EXTREME HOT SAUCE

Bought this as a stocking stuffer for my husband last Christmas. We both really like this hot sauce. We're "the hotter, the better" kind of people when it comes to wings. If Tapatio is too hot for you, you probably shouldn't try this. 1) It's really hot, but not painfully so. Your mouth is definitely going to tingle for 10-20 minutes afterwards, but as long as you don't add too much sauce at once, it's not unbearable. 2) The thickness is like a chipotle sauce, so it's easier to control the flow out of the bottle. 3) Some sauces are all heat with no flavor. Not this one! It tastes like really good homemade salsa, but with way more hotness.

Good enough flavor, but once you’ve had Dave’s brand concentrate hot sauces (all of which are excellent except but the jalapeño is kind of a joke, but the scorpion, ghost and Carolina reaper are my go-tos: https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Dave’s+hot+sauces&crid=QEAYH8BKK989&sprefix=dave+s+hot+sauces%2Caps%2C355&ref=nb_sb_noss_2), these traditional and resultantly watered-down recipe sauces are more about the cheesy labels than legitimately hot, hot sauce. I used this in chili yesterday and had to add probably 25 shakes with a dispenser proportion cap and it still wasn’t spicy enough so I had to add two drops of Dave’s Ultimate hot sauce to fix it, when just six drops of almost any Dave’s leaves it perfectly seasoned. Also love that they put a little heat index on the bottles with “insane,” “insane+” and “insane++.” And they are but in a wonderful way. However, I also collect hot sauces and the cheesy labels on this brand have resulted in at least three different purchases of the product for my collection.
