This book is the PERFECT introduction to piano. If you are a teacher, a parent or wanting to learn yourself, this is a great book to introduce yourself to playing. I am a teacher and have enjoyed watching my littles succeed while using this book

This Beginner piano book is the best place to start to teach your children to play the piano. I am not a teacher, but a piano player myself so I chose this book and the accompanying theory book because it is easy to understand and follow for an adult or child. My son is 11 years old and had no prior musical experience. I read through each lesson with him and used the theory book 1A noted for each lesson. Without much help, he was able to practice on our keyboard. Once he was proficient with one lesson, he would move on to the next. I appreciate the clear direction this book/series gives and highly recommend it to anyone wanting to start their journey of playing the piano.

I love, love, love this series! I have been teaching private lesions for many years and Alfred does a respectable job of introducing students to piano. It uses an interval approach, helping students recognize where note are relatively, but also insisting on a recognition of note names. The lessons are very logically ordered and new concepts are revisited for weeks in the subsequent pieces, really solidifying them as you go.my only complaint would be their introduction of eighth notes seems a little short. I would like a lot more clap and count style exercise that have very simple notes, but lots of different rhythms using the new eighth notes, similar to what is found at the beginning of Book 2 with dotted notes.

Nice size and seems geared toward kids. The book does not include the CD even though it advertises it does. I already knew that from other reviews, though. The first page shows you how to sit and how to number your fingers off, also shows where middle C is on your piano. The first large part of the book teaches the black keys. I had hoped it would teach the white first. I think this book will be a great addition, and really help our 9 year old learn. She will for sure need someone to help with some of the directions. Which, is what i would expect. But, just saying that, so you know what to expect when buying it. I plan to look into other series of teaching books as well. 4 stars for not coming with cd and correctly describing the books content.

This piano book was recommended from my child music school. I like this book as it explain in great detail all basic concepts about piano.

Il libro e arivato in tempo, non ha sofferto durante il trasporto. Ho comprato in torno a 13 fino adesso, ho anche la variante kindle e anche quella con CD. E il meglio che posso consigliare per i miei allievi, e per qualsiasi persona che vuole imparare a suonare il pianoforte partendo da 0. E in inglese,quindi magari questo potrebbe non essere il massimo per chi non parla questa lingua.

This is a very decent piano method. I used it to teach my daughter and I think that she maintained interest a lot longer than she would have without this method. 5 stars!
