Combination measuring device - US sizes…

So cool since no footwear place offers this anymore! Just like I remember as a kid! Quality is 100% fantastic! Nice to have for a family to correctly measure your shoe size!

I walk a lot for the exercise, so I need a high-quality shoe. Unfortunately, with my wide foot, finding shoes locally can be a problem. And to make an investment in orthopedic shoes from on online supplier is challenging as you hope to select the right size. When my left foot started bothering me, I decided to invest in top-quality shoes. I purchased this Brannock measuring device. Right out of the box, I noticed this was commercial-grade quality. The instructions are simple to understand and with plenty of helpful graphics and diagrams. Men-women sizes are color-coded. Three critical measurements are made: heel-to-toe length, heel-to-ball length, and foot width. Armed with this information, I visited a quality shoe store that sells the more expensive shoes, to test the accuracy of my measurements. I found the shoe size, tried them on, and they were a perfect fit. I recall the days when most shoe salespeople would use one of these devices to accurately get your shoe size, but I don't know if they even do this anymore. This Brannock tool, although on the expensive side in my opinion, is well worth the price if you are serious about spending your hard-earned money on a nice-fitting pair of shoes.

This product is essentially the same one that shoe stores have used to measure feet for most of the past century. I bought this so that I could measure my feet at home--in different thicknesses of socks, etc. The whole idea is to get an accurate size measurement of one's foot, which this product does just fine. I suspect that a lot of people, like me, will buy this product to get their correct shoe/boot size, so that they can buy shoes and boots online and not guess about their size or have to go off to a brick-and-mortar shoe store somewhere to get their foot measured and to try on shoes or boots. So, you would assume that having the correct shoe size measured with a quality tool like this would eliminate a lot of guesswork and "buy-and-return-because-it's-the-wrong-size" hassles, right? Well, you'd might as well get over that. The hard truth is that, apparently, the shoe and boot makers no longer really give a darn whether or not their boots or shoe size specifications meet the common standard that this device is designed to measure. Sadly, as well-built and well-designed as the Brannock Device is, it likely won't save you from the nightmare of buying shoes or boots online in exactly the size the Brannock device measures, only to find out that shoe or boot that you are buying is not sized by the manufacturer even close to what it should be. The one thing that the Brannock Device will tell you is how completely awful shoe and boot sizing has gotten. Oh, and the sizing can be way off on both American and foreign shoes and boots, as well as across the price spectrum. The Brannock Device is a great product, but it takes little of the hassle out of trying to get a correctly fitting shoe or boot when buying online.

This thing saved my feet, I live in a small town that doesnt have any shoe stores so I just buy online and have been buying the wrong size too small. I started getting pains and calloses so I decided to get this foot measuring device and found out I needed bigger and wider shoes.

This brannock device seems to measure well and is accurate. I own two brannocks: the combo and Centimeter one. I've noticed that both measure the lenght of the foot accurately. However, the width does not match up for women. If in the US then the combination brannock width is the more accurate of the two. Also, both brannock devices seem to add about .5 centimeters extra to the actual foot length. I find that this is okay for some shoes as I do wear my brannock size in certain shoes. However, other shoes I know I'd like more room and tend to go up a half size. Of course, sizes also vary across brands ao this needs to be kept in mind as well. Personally, I've had better luck going by the centimeter sizes on shoe labels when available.

My shoe size is 14 (male). Full stop. This device INSISTS it's a 13 (male) -- I can't even get my foot in a 13. It's wrong. It insists I have a narrow foot. I do not. I wear an "E" width. But it's a classic device and it does what it's supposed to do. Not sure why it's so far off. And why it was so expensive for what it does.

While it may seem alittle pricey, these days I've been to quite a few places that sell shoes but don't often offer a measuring device. This definitely comes in handy for both store and online shopping. I like the versatility this device offers having both male and female size measurements.

Could have more options for foot measurements. Right now only 2 is possible

This product is awesome and it's made of cast aluminium, meaning every part is not your regular plastic crap. All works as it should with a nice simple illustration sheet and if you get stuck trying to figure it all out? Just go to YouTube and put in the search "branock device" and there is an awesome short tutorial for you to watch. Highly recommend.
