great introduction to big sandy
this is just awesome. Chalk it up the the blues is worth the price of admission alone.I am glad i discovered big sandy i have not found anything of his i dislike yet. this is a good starting point. just make sure at some point you pick up the explicit version of his song back door dan funniest thing i have ever heard

More "Big Sandy" Fun!
As a new fan of the group, I wanted to buy a couple of CDs that would be a nice overall representation. This CD is one that helps fill the bill. A few years old... but a Good One!

"Her Hair is a Mess" may be Big Sandy's best song
This Album has three great songs and his best one that I have heard, but overall it is not as good as "Feelin' Kinda' Lucky."

retro, but not retread
The problem with a lot of retro bands is they simply sound like warmed over versions of the classics. Big Sandy and his Fly Rite Boys are different. They'll make you think you've discovered some long-lost tapes from days gone by. The musicianship is top-notch, the songs are terrific and Big Sandy can sing like no other.

Great, fun band but the album just doesn't match a live performance. If they are in your area, go see them!
