can you trim pubic hair with it ?

You can trim any hair from the top of your head to the bottom of your balls.

Is there a way to lock the touch screen so that you don't accidentally change the blade length during the cut?

The Remington MB4700 Smart Beard Trimmer has a travel lock button that locks the settings/length of cut.

What type of blades. What metal are they made of . Self sharpening?

The blades are made with Stainless Steel. The moving blade has a Titanium coating. These are self sharpening.

Can this be used in the shower? The questions regarding this are contradicting in answers.

Manual says “Do not allow the product to come in contact with water while plugged in”. But cleaning instructions suggest to keep the trimmer running while rinsing it under the tap. So running the trimmer while wet may be ok. That said, I choose not to do that. Call me old school but I don’t think electricity and water mix well. I would want an assurance from Remington before I try it.
