As a Mainer born and raised who has since moved all the way to Georgia, I splurge on these once a year as I can. They arrive fast, well packed and cold, and are everything I remember about Maine's red hot dogs. I usually try to get them for the 4th and it's always a treat for my family who misses them as much as I do. It's a huge almost mind-boggling price to pay for hot dogs (even overnighted ones), but they are worth it for the nostalgia.

If you have ever had a Maine hotdog and loved them these are the ones you want to order. Easier than flying to Maine to buy them.

ok, what I was looking for was the old hot dog that Winn Dixie used to sell back in the 90's with the red hot dogs, Now the Red Snapper comes real close to them, except the red snapper has a tougher skin and the meat is like the old taste of bologna, I do belive they are better tasting micro or boiled,but they still fall short of the taste of the old Winn Dixie red hot dogs, plus the Winn Dixit red hot dogs were about $ .79 a pack for 12 in the pack, i have read they no longer make them, that's to bad, plus the price is way to high along with the out of sight shipping even tho the shipping is fast , will i buy them again, NO, reason the price of shipping and cost,it was just a test to compare and they didnot come close taste or price , But they are the best tasting hot dogs on the market today,the taste will put all the other brands to shame ,but the price and shipping will destroy all that
