Corsair VS2GSDS667D2 2GB (1x2GB) DDR2 667 MHz (PC2 5300) Laptop Memory

I've been around computers my whole life, but the hardware side of things always intimidates me. My laptop has tons of software that would be almost impossible to transfer to a new unit, so as my laptop has become bogged down with added processes, my options have been reduced to: eliminating processes running in the background or upgrade my RAM. I chose to do a little of both. After searching the web for instructions/recommendations on upgrading RAM, I came across this product. I wasn't sure if it would work, but I went ahead and ordered 2 packs and installed one on my wife's Toshiba netbook (previously had 1GB of RAM) and one on my HP laptop (previously had two 1GB sticks). My Pavilion has Windows Vista and my wife's Toshiba has Windows 7. I can already see a huge difference in Windows Task Manager. My HP was running at above 90% previously and is now sitting at around 60%. My wife's Toshiba went from about 95% down to around 60% as well. If there's a bottleneck now, it's the CPU. However, the added RAM is a significant improvement and much less expensive than a new laptop.

bought this used and its glitchy on my laptop and turns off or restarts every now and then, it is the right ram for my laptop, and sure made it faster but with those glitch's.

Ok just installed the new memory works great with Compaq CQ40 107. There was no need to go into BIOS. The memory showed right away. Works great with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 9.10. Easy to install, but that might depend on your Laptop One bad thing was the packaging for the memory. it's difficult to take out without bending or scratching it. When I finally popped it out it slipped and fell on the floor. Thankfully no damage was done. Buy the product but take care when getting it out of the packaging. That's why I gave it 4 stars Corsair are you reading this--- change your packaging For future reviewers a suggestion-- when it works on your laptop list down the brand and model no. of the laptop as well as the operating system. some people have done so but others haven't. It makes it easier for future buyers

I purchased this Memory together with a 10" ACER Aspire NetBook to upgrade its memory from the standard 1 GB to the maximum 2 GB. Installation was a breeze: remove a small screw, open the small hatch over the memory and switch them out; SUPER EASY PROCESS. My computer recognized the new memory without problem and thus far (over a year of use) memory has worked flawlessly and fast. For the price, it is a steal and from my experience I would highly recommend this memory, no doubt!

After installing the memory chip in my Samsung NC-20 netbook, the system produces an error or crash every 2-5 minutes. I informed Corsair Tech Support about the problem, and didn't hear anything for four days. And, I only received a response after emailing customer service on the third day. It turns out that I have to seek a Return Authorization. Assuming that they grant the authorization, the next step is for me to de-install the unit, and send it back to them. They will test it. If they don't detect any problem, they will send the original unit back to me. Otherwise they will replace the unit. In the meantime, I am without the needed memory upgrade. At this point, I am not favorably impressed with their products or services. So, I would prefer a refund. However, they do not grant refunds.

in one word, perfect! I installed this 2gb corsair module in my asus eee pc 1000ha. and it worked just fine, I was thinking I need to switch manually from bios but I did not even needed to do that, it totally worked, and I like corsair as a brand, I hope I will be satisfied with this product in the future too.. P.S: the ram has been downclocked to 333mhz and running just fine, and that is just because asus eeepc 1000ha 's bus speed does not supports 667 mhz and I know that working at 333mhz is not memory's fault. Actually in winxp it was saying that 333mhz, then I installed win7 32bit. It is less likely but it might be changed to 667. Idk.. but I am totally satisfied with the product.

It's unreliable. I got this module also. It did not work in pair with the same module on one laptop which was running Vista Home Premium dumping memory. it did the same with another laptop (which was running Windows 7 ) once, then it worked for 20 minutes and freeze Win7 completely. It worked with another 1Gb module (different brand) on iMac. I do not think I ever gonna buy Corsair again.

I used the 2 GB SODIMM in a Asus eeePC 900 ( the cheap version with Xandros ) it has a 4 GB SSD card installed... *************************************************************** I did Flash my BIO's to the lastest...which is suppose to help the memory upgrade.. **************************************************************** Now I did install Puppy Slacko 5.3.1 (Linux) on the internal SSD.... [...] If you have never used a Version of Linux... Puppy is the best about 75 MB .ISO... Second I use a 8 GB SD-Card (Class 4) and have Android-x86 3.2-RC2 live and installation iso for ASUS Eee PC family [...] Now you can access the Android Market ( I am assuming you have a Google Account .... e-Mail or Youtube account) Now if you are interested they are working on a Porting "Android 4.0" ( Ice Cream Sandwich ) I personally am going to wait unit the RC-1 is released.... This memory upgrade is well worth the small amount of money it cost... The Internal SSD card is NOT cheap... Hope this helps... Habe ein Samsung N140 das ich fast des öfteren an die Senkrechte geschmettert hätte weil das Teil manchmal echt verdamt lahm war... Keine ahnung wieso ich den Gedanke an einem größeren Arbeitsspeicher immer wieder verworfen habe, ABER ich hätte es schon viel früher tun sollen und somit die Stresspustelbildung eliminieren können!!!! Es ist auf jedenfall sehr zu Empfehlen (vorallem bei Netbook's aller Marken) einen größeren Arbeitsspeicher zu installieren (vorallem bei Win7)!! Das Netbook is viel schneller geworden und es lässt sich endlich "normal" damit arbeiten! Programme starten schneller, mann kann mehr Prgramme gleichzeitig im Hintergrund laufen lassen, viel weniger Ruckler und Aufhänger und das ganze System fährt schneller hoch! Der Einbau gestaltet sich sehr einfach beim N140 (Schraube auf, Deckel ab, Klammer lösen, Speicher raus, neuer rein, runterdrücken bis es klickt und einrastet - fertig!) Im Bios muss man nichts einstellen. Alles wird sofort automatisch erkannt! Nur bei Win7 sollte man danach eine neue Leistungsbewertung (zu finden in der Suche mit "Leistungsinformationen") durchführen damit Windows mit den neuen Reserven besser umgehen kann! Preis und Verpackung von Amazon TOP!!! Corsair-Speicher ist schneller als Kingston und absolut zu Empfehlen! Finger weg von No-Name Produkten! Da ärgert man sich bloß! Bin begeistert! So macht das Netbook wieder Spaß und ich kann ohne Stresspusteln durch den Tag gehen.. Nicht überlegen...einfach --> KAUFEN <-- !!!! Ihr werdet mir Recht geben! Grüßle

Ottima ram, veloce ed affidabile. Montata e riconosciuta dal notebook senza problemi. Economica ma altrettanto valida. Installata insieme ad un'altra ram con frequenza 533 ed ha funzionato senza problemi.

The 2GB RAM Module from Corsair fits perfectly and works without any problems in my Netbook (Medion Akoya E1222). I upgraded from 1 to 2 GB and you can really see the difference.
