Easy to Install
These security lock work great on my Anderson sliders. I researched many different types of lock for my sliders and ended up buying these locks. And I'm glad I did. Plus, my wife finds them easy to lock and unlock with a foot. For me, the best thing I liked about these locks is how easy they are to install. I put them on all 4 of my Anderson sliders.

High quality SOLID construction, may work on non-Anderson doors.
The item says it's for Anderson branded sliding doors and even lists models of doors that support it. I knew this when purchasing it and do not have an Anderson door. As I expected, it mounted just fine to my vinyl framed glass sliding door. I'm not a window/door professional, so I don't know exactly what's behind the vinyl that the mounting screws are biting into, but it dug in real tight. I'm confident it will last as long as the door does. As for the device itself, it's really well made with heavy duty cast metal housing. The only part that was not metal and visible from the outside was a plastic cap on top of the bolt post and the back panel that faces the door. When you work the spring loaded action, it works and feels SOLID with a satisfying "click" sound when the bolt locks down. I've found it really easy to use, that is, you don't have to stomp down or kick on it to work the action. It's smooth and can easily be operated barefoot. This was my experience since I aligned the track hole properly with the bolt in the door's closed position. I imagine if I had offset the hole on accident, it may not have worked as smoothly. So take your time when installing it and follow the directions and you'll be alright. The instructions were easy to understand and the method of installation was written at a professional level to ensure proper installation. Overall, I love it and would definitely recommend this item!

Fantastic Andersen option which works for many other doors as well.
I was using the old steel bar to secure a sliding patio door. While the solution worked well, it was very inconvenient. Having to find a place for the bar when you removed it was annoying and if you were trying to take the garbage out and forgot to unlock the bar first, it was a hassle. Installed this in about 15 minutes. A little bit of light drilling and secured my door very well. Give a tap to the button on the front and your lock pops up and the door opens. You can easily do it with your hands full! When you are done. just push down on the locking rod with the foot and your door is secure. A super easy, highly efficient and convenient product. I had the white version which looked great. It appears to be a solid and well made Andersen product.

Perfect fit for my wooden sliding door
Wife likes it because it’s easy to use with just your foot and holds door securely. I like it because it was easy to install on my non-Anderson wooden sliding doors. Drilled pilot holes in end of door for 2 screws to hold lock, and 1 hole in bottom track for pin lock. 1/2” hole for pin seemed too big for a 1/4” pin. So I drillled 3/8” hole and it works perfectly! Directions show to remove door because hole needed for pin lock in track is about an inch from end of door...too close for a fat drill to keep the bit vertical. However, I used a 12v Dewalt battery drill. Dill was touching door and bit was on a slight angle, but pin fits in hole easily. I did not use grommets to dress up hole oin lock because hole in in bottom of track and can’t be seen.

Great patio door lock- best for Anderson door
Great lock that makes patio door more secure. Easy to install with a drill to create screw holes and hole for locking rod. My door is NOT Anderson so we had to do alternate installation on front of the door where ledge is wide enough for locking rod hole - still works well. Front installation exposes back of lock.

Well built. Why did I procrastinate?
Tips! You will not need to remove your door from the trim if you have a 90° adapter for a drill. (You will use it if you don’t already own one. DeWalt makes mine.) I have an older Andersen door and it required I put the lock on the top of the door because the trim on the bottom would not allow for placement. It looks great, it’s built to last and I can’t believe I put this off- I instead I used a stick for 7 years. As somebody else mentioned, you can use a smaller drill bit than half inch to make the hole for locking, but I recommend taking a half inch drill bit and cutting just enough so you can utilize the rubber grommet.

Just what you need to add a little more security to your Anderson sliding door.
This deadbolt lock works great and is of metal construction and should last for many years, It fit my Anderson door perfectly as that is what it was designed for. I was able to mount it at the top instead of the bottom so it's a little bit easier to use with your hands instead of your foot if you're tall like me. Installation was a lot simpler than the instructions suggested. The instructions suggested that you remove the door to install the deadbolt but I was able to install it without removing the door.

Might have to get creative with installing on non-Anderson door.
I do not have an Anderson door, but I was able to make it work. I used a bit of paint on a nail to mark locations. The inner bottom of my track interferes with the pin that locks it so I had to adjust the location of the unit a bit by slightly angling outward. The pin now depresses about 3/8” into the track and still holds it securely. Not sure I will buy another of my other slider given the additional complexity but I am satisfied. I did not have to remove my door thankfully. The lock does function well and seems well built but you might have to get a bit creative. Durability: Seems solid

Excellent Quality
Superior quality…,very durable. I initially bought a cheaper product….retuned it as it was poorly made. You get what you pay for.
