Loctite Naval Jelly Rust Dissolver, 8 fl oz, Bottle

I grabbed this for my tiny dorm tool kit because the metal bed frame and my old bike both had gross rust spots. First time i used it was on the bed frame joint that squeaked like crazy. I brushed a little on, waited, then wiped and most of the rust was just gone. The squeak calmed down a lot so my roommate stopped giving me side eye every time i moved. It smells kind of strong so I just opened the window and it was fine. I like that I dont need any fancy tools, just gloves and paper towels and it works well for random dorm fixes.

It works to remove rust. I used on 1/2" steel pipe left outdoor. Along with steel pipe clamp. Rust removed cleanly, in preparation for rustoleum coating. Did same for steel bicycle frame with rust on frame and wheel mounts. But steel wheel chrome rim removed some rust but not on spoke holes. Will need another application using wire brush but better if spokes are removed and both inside and outside of hole can be accessed. Easy to apply.

There's no better rust remover than Naval Jelly. Easy to use: just spread it on per the instructions, wipe off when it says, done & done. Stick with the brand name; I've bought others for here, and oxalic acid tends not to do the job. You won't waste your money with this.

Pleased with how well this product works on rust. It has a mild smell and washes away easily after use. The smaller container size is just right for my needs, especially when working on a few parts during my repairs. I like that I’m not stuck with a large amount that I’d need to store or get rid of later. It’s a handy option for quick jobs around the garage.

not as strong as it use too be.

I grabbed this because my dorm’s metal bed frame and an old fan I brought from home both had rust spots. I brush a little of the jelly on, wait a bit, then rinse it off in the bathroom sink. The brown rust turns this grayish color and comes off way easier after. It smells kind of strong, so I open the window and it is fine. One night I used it on my desk chair legs before my roommate’s parents visited and the metal actually looked decent. The small bottle is enough for random repairs but still fits in my storage bin.
