I purchased this mount for an 8" Samsung Galaxy Tab A. I liked that it offered the flexibility of a wall or table mount in one kit.My first impression of the mount was that it was OK. The side arms do not come in close enough to fully grip the 8" tablet - but they do envelop it enough that it is impossible to remove when locked in. A slightly larger tablet would be no problem.The side arms ratchet inward with a release that is hidden behind the tablet when it is in position. Only the upper arm locks. This is a secure enough arrangement, but the lock has the security cable integrated into it, and the security cable is designed to be used with the post for the table mount. The lock is finicky. It engages a very small T shape through a slot so probably wouldn't have to be whacked very hard to be defeated, but every time I tried to lock or unlock it it felt like I spent an inordinate amount of time fidgeting with the key to get it engaged or disengaged just right.When used with the wall mount plate, this mount is a little fidgety. The plate is triangular and slides in from one side, and then if the entire mount is pivoted away from that angle the mounting plate is locked in place. The pivoting parts are plastic and wobble a little bit, so the mount never feels quite secure. Also, you have to have the lock engaged in the back, and you need to mount it near something else you can wrap the security cable around. The cable is permanently attached to the lock and is the only thing aside from the secret of the spinning mount keeping the tablet from being removed. This whole arrangement looked OK, but didn't feel like a quality wall mounting setup as it wobbled with every touch.The table mount has its own set of issues - the review by RyanWPowers addresses this pretty accurately. Here, the plate that engages the mount (like the wall plate) is attachable by a screw to lock the plate in place securely. But the post then attaches to the table mount with a single ~2mm set screw that engages one point of a tiny flare at the bottom of the post. There is a nub molded into the ring where the set screw runs that lets it pivot just shy of 360 degrees, which is great for keeping cables from getting tangled up as it cannot be spun all the way around. However, if there is enough slack in the set screw to allow the mount to pivot, it's easy to even accidentally knock the pole out of the mounting base. Since the design is for the security cable to secure to the mounting pole, it secures nothing as you can walk away with a tablet on a short pole. And if you tighten the set screw down to the point of locking the post in, you'll actually bend the post and still be able to lever it out of the base.This has the look of a POS-style tablet mount, but I wouldn't put a tablet in it that wasn't going to be attended. I feel like the post would fall out on its own within a week or two just from forces incidental to using the tablet, adjusting the angle, etc. The mechanism for attaching the post to the mounting base needs to be reengineered for this mount to be worthwhile.I would not feel confident calling this a security mount for a tablet with the current design. If the cable were cut off it, it would be an OK regular mount, but it's not really securing anything except in appearance only. And it's not as beefy as its appearance would lead you to believe. There is structural plastic here that keeps it from being as sound as an all-metal mount.
