Kahuna Magic

This book is a good introduction to Huna, a school of ancient Hawaiian mysticism. I have been familiar with Brad Steiger's works for years and he has written many popular works on the paranormal. Most books on Huna were written by Max Freedom Long and Serge King. Huna is one aspect of Hawaiian mysticism. Other books that address it more broadly are by Joe Vitale and Hank Wesselman.

Although a bit of an "old" publication, this small volume contains all of the basic Huna material, plus a few odd--but interesting--anecdotes.

when one is discussing huna this is the book that i tell them to read to see if the inexperienced want to begin practicing huna. good overview of the belief system and the development one will begin to demonstrate with some practice

Learn about magic

I highly recommend this book. It highlights very interesting subjects in the huna culture. And makes it easy to understand beliefs. While throwing in techniques you can use. After reading this look for Kahuna Healing by Serge King it links up well with this book and reviews Max quite often.

This book by Brad Steiger (BS, American author, expert on the paranormal; 1936 to date) is a summary of key concepts about the Kahuna – the traditional Hawaiian religion - from the writings of Max Freedom Long (MFL, American author; 1890-1971). MFL, ill and at the end of his life, asked BS to write it in 1968 and he (MFL) was pleased with the result. In 1917 MFL had moved to Hawaii as a schoolteacher and stayed there till the mid-1930's before moving to California; he heard stories early on in his stay on Oahu that the Hawaiians had practiced magic e.g., telepathy, astral projection, instant healing … and – finding it was true - spent the rest of his life studying and disseminating Huna, their ancient religion. The Kahuna, the magician-priests, of Hawaii began to disappear, to be suppressed, after the arrival in Hawaii of mostly Christian missionaries around 1820-1830. Steiger's book is clear and well-written, and the Huna religion sophisticated by any standards. Amazingly enough the book says the religion's origins perhaps trace back to Egypt … via a diaspora that spread to e.g., the Atlas Mountains, Madagascar and the Maoris. The sophistication of the religion can be seen e.g., in it's understanding of the importance of thought, and in the understanding that the purity of thought and intent determines what is achieved.

It has keys to understand life and man I have been looking for for decades. Huna is a hidden treasure.
