Wolfenstein: The New Order - Playstation 3

It's a pretty cool - ok - awesome & fun - game. The graphics kick ass, the game play is good. While it's not exactly like the Doom or Wolfenstein of yesterday where you just wandered thru a level at will dispatching enemies and reaching the level endpoint, it's still fun. Another reviewer mentioned that "it's not a game; it's to a "to-do list", it's true that the game does have a certain linearity to it with objectives to accomplish very much a la SOCOM style. But that doesn't make it any less fun or enjoyable because they're still plenty of old-game style action while accomplishing said objectives. You still look for hidden areas, find hidden "stuff" like the old days it's just on a more linear way. And you have a blast in the process. The only real issue I had with it is that the controls are "wards-back" (backwards). Most FPSes use R1 to fire, and R2 for weapons select (think Socom, Killzone, etc). This one filps 'em , making for an annoying adjustment period while your get your brain re-adjusted. And even then you can get tripped up in a melee or heat of the action. And while I'm only half way thru, there is replay value apparently because the course of the game alters based on certain decisions you make during gameplay. I also have to agree with one of the other reviewers that the sex cut-scene was unnecessary as it added nothing to either the story or the game play. So I'll zing the makers on that. But overall, it's far worth the $15 for Amazon's warehouse deals/overstock. 103 people found it 4 or 5 stars, and the other 22, well... whatever.

If you like Warhammer and Doom isn't your style this is the next best thing...if you know the lore about the main character and who he was before Doom

So I was hesitant to buy this game. I watched gameplay on youtube. Read reviews. I did my research as games are not cheap. I do not have a ps4 and this game is out for current and next gem systems. So i decided to to get this for my ps3. If you are, in any way doubting this purchase for the ps3, do not fret. This is a beautiful game. Through and through. The gameplay is fantastic. The pacing is fantastic. The guns sound real. Loud and destructive, and if you think this a pure 'run and gun' game, you would be mistaken. Some parts are pure survival. You, a knife and a bunch of nazis, If you want my opinion, this is the best wolfenstein to date. It doesn't pull any punches. It takes the hard truth of the past and makes you watch. makes you a witness to the atrocities. There is a scene with a baby...... I will not say no more on that. I like games that make you think and feel. I usually do not post reviews, but this game deserved it.

Wolfenstein is back, and fans of single-player first person shooters have reason to rejoice! This game runs and guns with the best the FPS genre has to offer. The shooting mechanics are smooth and responsive; pulling off precision headshots in a heated firefight is an equally viable option to duel wielding heavy assault rifles and charging in guns 'a blaze. Wolfenstein utilizes a superb cover system that let's the player peak around corners and over the top of crates to effectively use cover to preserve your health and armor. That's right, minimal health regeneration means you'll be picking up plenty of health packs and armor pieces. Enemy AI is sufficient if somewhat unremarkable. Nothing you haven't seen before, but they put up enough of a fight to make things interesting. Our fearless protagonist, B.J., actually has a personality, hopes, and dreams in this iteration, which nicely compliments the occasionally gruesome and morally reprehensible acts of the alternate reality Nazi bad guys. In my humble opinion, this game has a lot in common with Rage from a graphical standpoint. Pretty graphics are somewhat diminished by plenty of texture pop-in; it never significantly detracted from my enjoyment of the game, but its pervasiveness made me wish the graphics has been optimized a bit more for the PS3. No clue how the 360 or next-gen versions fare in this department. No multiplayer means this isn't for you if multiplayer is what your heart truly desires.. As I get older, I seem to enjoy multiplayer less and single player more, and for that reason, Wolfenstein is a gift from the FPS gods. I highly recommend it if you like Resistance 3, Rage, Bioshock, past Wolfenstein iterations, or Killzone 2/3. Watch some gameplay footage if you're on the fence about getting it. If you like what you see, you'll like what you play. Cheers! P.s. This game seriously, really, undoubtedly has a lot in common with Resistance 3, and I can't emphasize what a GOOD thing that is. Alternate reality 1940's-1960's, unique looking weapons, solid-but-somewhat-old school-gameplay, stoic-yet-likeable male protagonist fighting for a worthy cause. . .the similarities go on. Point being that if you liked Resistance 3, Wolfenstein is your game. If you didn't care for Resistance 3, you may still like Wolfenstein anyways if you like some of the other games I listed above.

I'm maybe halfway through this installment in the Wolfenstein series of games. This game is fine. The graphics are great, the storyline isn't bad, the gameplay is clunky and the controls are not intuitive. The levels aren't very inspired and the developer seemed to get stuck trying to decide whether to make this an open world game or a linear game. They didn't succeed on either front (just like Hitler in WWII, amirite?) and the game suffers for it. Some of the levels are downright tedious. Take the incarceration in the Nazi prison where you literally are stuck in an assembly-line, manipulating a machine that makes .... something. Concrete? Helmets? Who cares? I don't know who thought that would be a fine idea for a setting but it's boring as hell. Adding to my "fun" was the decision to not create a multiplayer part of this game. I guess when you've built your reputation as a franchise that creates amazing multiplayer experiences (Doom, Original Wolfenstein, etc) you just have to start branching out into cutting corners. The explanation given that the developers didn't want to take away resources from the single player experience just tells me that this was yet another mis-managed project. Fine, I bought the game knowing that but I still feel that this offering suffers for it, and not just in terms of consumer experience. Look at all the other games which offer multiplayer and sell DLC or allow perks to be collected/purchased and tell me that Bethesda and not-id made a smart decision.

F***in amazing game

This is one of those games you just simply don't wish to stop playing , you truly want the story to keep going. I was surprised and excited to see the level of emotion and surreal graphics involved in the making of the sequel to one of my favorite games. The first was good but the second will grab you and keep you involved . I have played easy then normal then hard and next difficult or uber. you will enjoy the story and the level of involvement you find of the main character in this game will grab you right away . be ready for a thrill ride all the way to the end. you want this game .

First off, those who are stating there's some issue with the graphics must be in need of better television sets. The graphics are crisp and clear. No problem with the audio either. The game play is smooth. The weapons selection is phenomenal. Lots of really awesome weapons. The Nazi soldiers look like Hydra from Captain America. Lots of strange robots and weapons. I love the story line and can't wait to get through to the end. As another reviewer said, if you're uncertain about buying the game, then check out some game play video online.

Primero qeu nada comentar que, a pesar de que es un juego de importación con la portada y contraportada en inglés, el juego se encuentra doblado y subtitulado al español y requiere una instalación de unos 8 Gb. A pesar de que el juego tiene varios fallos gráficos; como texturas que tardan en cargar, si eres de los que se enfocan en el gameplay y no en los gráficos disfrutarás mucho del juego. Aunque hay ocasiones puntuales en las que si puede resultar algo molesto. Los controles es un aspecto que no me agradó, ya que la distribución de botones es idéntica a la de Xbox y los gatillos del PS3 no son igual de cómodos, resulta un poco engorroso adaptarse a disparar con R2 en lugar de R1 y las opciones de personalización no te permiten modificar éste parámetro. A pesar de esos detalles es un juego que recomiendo para quienes han disfrutado de esta saga o quienes buscan una experiencia entretenida de un solo jugador.

フリーズします(ゲームプレイ中では無くオプション設定変更時おこりました)又、画面表示ボタンと実際押すボタンが違うバグも有ります(決定→ｘと表示されますが実際はｏだったり)。 音声は低く画像解析度は７２０/３０です。 今後、スキル解放等で変化すると思いますが銃を打つ感覚が軽く少し物足りなさも有ります。 規制に関して／国内版のゲームプレイでも無修正と公式にて発表されますが、ここに過度な期待はしない方が良いかと？ 個人的にはオーソドックスなＦＰＳだなと感じた為です。 ストーリーは、まだ序盤ですがおそらく後味の悪い濃さがありある意味グロいと思われます。 ＤＯＯＭ βに関してはまだやってませんが、コードが入ってます。 個人的に期待して購入しましたが、それでも面白かった為、購入して良かったです。 また何かありましたら追記します。

Overall pretty good, the alternate story lines are a little weird and probably could have gone without, but I enjoyed the play-through.
