On its loudest setting, this is LOUD. However, you can easily change the volume, and on medium it’s loud enough to hear in another room without being at risk of waking the dead. The controls are simple, and the buttons are large. The display is also large. It takes common AA batteries, not coin cells. Downsides: not cheap, quite a big box, one of the buttons is a bit wobbly (but still works perfectly). I’d recommend this for everyone, but I *strongly* recommend it for elderly people, those with poor hearing, or those with poor eyesight.

Brilliant little timer! I bought one of these for my elderly mother who is deaf and she can hear it at the loudest volume even when she's in another room. I ordered this one for myself and just the lowest volume is fine for me, haven't needed anything louder yet. Maybe if I was out in the garden or upstairs I might use it. So easy to use with a very clear display.

Salter usually a well made product, which it is. It has a separate hour facility, which makes it simpler to use rather than having to press the minute button up to an hour. My one complaint is the alarm sound it makes when timer goes off. It is far too much like a fire alarm. Really unsuitable. If I hadn’t opened and tried it I would have returned. Please Salter reconsider the sound. One star removed due to this.

Brilliant little alarm, solid construction and easy to use. Magnetic so we keep ours stuck on fridge. Very good for forgetful teenagers. My teenage son pops food in oven, sets the timer and takes it with him upstairs. Takes the worry out of it for me that he will forget he's got food in the oven! I use it all the time as well. Can just sit back and relax instead of clock watching all the time I've even started to use it when heating up the hot water as I often forget to turn it off wasting money. With fuel bills set to rocket this proves very useful. We've had it for a few years now and still going string. It replaced a flimsier version that fell to pieces very quickly. So although it's expensive it's worth it as it's well made. Just purchased another one for son to take with him to University.

Brilliant! Better than expected. No gimmicky, complicated clock, duel settings, modes etc. Just a well made timer. The buttons work perfectly, unlike all the cheaper ones I've ever had, where if you press 'start', they often sort of double press onto 'stop'. The switch on the side sets the volume to 3 levels, which is REALLY useful! The lowest setting is bit more quiet than my old timer. I have just compared them. The pattern of the alarm is 3 beeps, then the 4th beat is missing - repeated. The set of 4 beats lasts 1 second, which is a third slower than my old, cheap, tacky white one, which had the same beep pattern. The pitch of this is a bit higher and is not annoying. Its magnets stick very tightly to a fridge or radiator. It is about an inch thick, and feels strong, heavy and nice. Didn't know that 'Salter' is a 260 year old British company, although this is made in China.

Good idea but poor exection the diary is readable and the magnet strong However the alarm -even on the low setting -is too loud .- its sounds like a snake alarm. The buttons on the device don't ways work [esprciily the start timer button] .You have to check . Fior some reason mine dices just to go off on its own despite no buttons being pushed .

This kitchen timer is quite small yet very robust. Display is easy to read and when the alarm goes off, it is quite loud even in low setting. Very useful for people who are hard of hearing. This item uses 2 AA batteries, which means it can last longer than most timers and it has magnets making it ideal to attach on the household fridge. Large simple button are easy to use and set and it costs reasonably well for its size. A definite must have for your kitchen cooking needs.

Good. Chunky design. For the magnetic "stick up" to work you pretty much need to stick directly on to something metal. If you're like me, and you use the magnet to also pin up the recipe you're using, this will disappoint. The timer beeper is loud, so excellent if you need leave the kichen while your recipe cooks. Buttons and setting all easy to use with sticky, floury hands.

Doet zijn werk en het maakt een luid geluid, voldoende om boven het kookgeluid te komen. De duurzaamheid moet nog blijken want we hebben het nog maar enkele weken.

Excellent kitchen timer with super loud alarm. Easy to set and use. Have tried other brands but this is the best. This is our go to timer. Highly recommended.

By day, the magnet holds it securely on the fridge. And when the sun comes out, it is perfect for BBQ time in the garden. Large easy to read display. Selectable alarm loudness. Simple to use. Was a little worried that the display is always on but as it is LCD, battery drain is not an issue. Now it it is finding new uses as timer for when my daughter is taking a “break” from school homework. Glad that I purchased this...my daughter, less so :o)
