Great quality for the price. I started podcasting with several of these, and they worked beautifully with all my other "prosumer" hardware. Beautiful audio quality, especially for a steal like this. The only thing to look out for is the cable it ships with, as it is rather cheaply made and can cause intermittent connection to the mic. This can translate to random popping sounds or patches of dead air. At this price though, the cable is really just a bonus. With a good quality cable with a rubber boot to maintain a snug fit, we didn't have any more problems. A good set of well made cables is worth the money, I personally went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NFXVB34/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1 to be able to color code my inputs on all the guests. Really though, any decent xlr cable with a rubber boot is all you need. Great value mic, personally have a full set of these for on-the-air backups of the condenser mics we upgraded to.

These are durable little mics perfect for home karaoke or kids who want to live their rockstar dreams. Can't go wrong for the price. We pick up a few every year just to keep around for practice and public karaoke so if the random drunk decides to do a mic drop you aren't out much. Don't expect pro sound but with the right adjustments on the mixer you still sound better than 80% of karaoke singers.

I bought two of these mics during some kind of mark-down sale for around $7 USD each. The first one I opened has something loose inside and I need to shake it for it to make a connection so that it functions. Due to the low cost, and not wanting the hassle of a return, I can't say I care at all. That aside, I really didn't have a lot of expectations for the mostly plastic unit. I bought it primarily to do "unrefined" impulse responses of my guitar speaker cabinet, and does it deliver in that area. In the center of the speaker, it gives me a pleasingly harsh tone that is definitely best suited to be blended with a darker, bassier IR. The far edge capture of the speaker also gives a kind of nasty deeper tone quality that can be blended with a brighter IR to round it out. Will these IRs impress most people? Probably not. But if you're looking to experiment with different mics, this one is surely affordable and just may give you a result you weren't expecting. I haven't tried them with a voice or instrument, so I can't be of much help there, but maybe they'll be a good backup for you or provide an alternate sound that you weren't initially looking for. Since these are mostly plastic, I wouldn't expect it to be used on a stage or for any serious gigging musician. They do have an on/off switch which I wasn't expecting. They are very light in weight and comfortable to hold. I'd expect your best results for these mics would be to place them in a stand and leave them there.

Bought this a while back when i needed a mic but didnt have a lot of cash. works pretty well but you really have to sing into it. upgraded to something better, but we still keep it for backing vocals. had it about a year and just recently its been starting to cut in and out so it might be takin a shit on us pretty soon. but i'd recommend it as a beginner mic.

These are garbage. Mine arrived non-working, nothing but a loud buzz. Clearly no quality control or testing done by this company/mfr...they don't even plug in to see if working before they box up and ship. Tried a different cord...same thing - microphone is a $2 piece of plastic. Buy better,

Tested against other microphones using same input and settings in audacity. Other mics picked up slightly better and had a little more response to a wider range. But, this microphone cost about $80-$120 less and had sufficiently close response for basic needs. Any differences were easily cleared in post with a few filter adjustments. If your budget is tight, this will work great. I believe it's close enough to good - that I'll keep it for 2nd channel recording right beside the more expensive primary mic. If this is a standalone input, it should still provide good sound capture for most users.

First problem is with the description. I should have read the comments from others. Of course for under $5 I didn't (shouldn't?) expect much -- though did expect it to be metal. As noted by others, this is a cheap plastic body mic. The description says it has zinc alloy meal construction, it doesn't in fact have any metal for in housing. As a result, it's neither durable, solid feeling, and clearly not professional. While it does incorporate a "professional" 3-pin XLR connection, it's not wired to the standard. It'll work with the included cable but definitely will NOT work using a standard XLR mic cable connected to a standard input. Only pins 1 and 3 of this mic have connections. SOlved that problem by rewiring the connector in the mic. Moved the extremely thin wire from pin 1 to 2 and we're good to go. Sadly, the cable can't be modified because there is no socket in the #position -- just a hole. If I need to use the cable now, I'll have to swap out the XLR-F. So for reference, normally the signal would be between 2 and 3 with 1 as shield. Connecting it as shipped a standard input (mixer, amp. etc.) wouldn't produce any signal -- though if 48V phantom power was present (between 1 and 2-3 as is normal, it could damage/destroy the element... and remove any future need to be concerned about how cheesy it is. Doesn't really look that bad, but it's plastic. So how does it sound? Once rewired so I could plug into something I have, turns out it doesn't sound that bad, though nothing I"ll probaly use. Weak on the low end, but s usable except for the fact it picks up a lot of noise just by holding it. Not a shock-mounted element, so vibration pickup from hand noise is a problem. Just as well it's light on the low end or the handling noises would be even worse. Overall, a decent $4 mic. So not being happy, I tried to return it. While sold and shipped by Amazon, when I tried to return it using the online process, a "not eligible for return" message was displayed. A phone call resolved that issue. So while the mic is sub standard, Amazon's customer service continues to be consistently great.

Awsome Microphone.The sound is clear and it also captures good amount of bass.Build is not that great,but considering the price of this product,the performance it offers is just perfect.

Switch makes loud popping sound when flicked, very directional and prone to popping sounds.
