The author even takes time to personally email you ( you have to email her first ), with tons of supplemental worksheets, a certificate of completion, and even practice sheets with your child's name - so they can work on having a superb signature! This book is an excellent resource for 1st time learners, or those who need to re-learn what was taught to them. All of my children, except one, earned their pen license by learning cursive in Grade 5. The year my daughter hit Grade 5 the school chose to stop teaching cursive. The following year they decided it was important again, but did not bother to correct that skill shortage for those kids who had missed out. These books are addressing that gap in her knowledge. I firmly believe it is a necessary skill for adults to have.
