How do you know which tip to use?

Dear Customer,

The YIHUA 947-III soldering kit comes with a variety of tips for different purposes and styles of soldering. Selecting the tip depends on the type of solder joint (or the kind of components) you’re working with.

For example, most through hole solder joints can be worked with by using type-B (conical round-head tip), type-C (bevel tip), type-D (chisel tip).

If you’re working with SMD components, we recommend the type-K tip (knife-shape tip).

All the above are the applications, there are users who have individual preferences over the shape of tip they like to use when soldering. However, the use of tip simply has to follow one principle, maximum contact for both the surfaces you’re trying to solder. Because only by heating up both the surfaces sufficiently, you can form a solid intermetallic bond between the two via solder to conduct electricity. (or to avoid a cold solder joint!)

How does the "sleep function" work on the digital models?

Unfortunately, the heating element for the YIHUA 926 III is not available as an individual item at our store, and heating elements from other brands must not be installed on the YIHUA 926 III for safety concerns.
