Superior to Field Notes For Less
I'm not sure why these aren't more popular than Field Notes. Thicker cover makes for better writing experience on laps. More pages while still comfortable in back pocket for a portable second brain. Cheaper. More pages. Still made in US (to my knowledge). I keep one of these in my back pocket at all times. I fill up one every 2 weeks. Pages don't seem to bleed with my Pilot v5s, Uni-ball Vision Elites, or Zebras. If you're looking for a better/cheaper Field Notes replacement, look no further.

Useful Pocket Notebook for EDC
These are amazing pocket notebooks for those looking for a basic notebook to EDC. The paper is similar quality to Field Notes. The green covers are more durable than Field Noteโs Kraft paper cover, while the kraft & white covers are similar quality to Field Noteโs. The graph paper variety has margins. Some people hate it. I like it for writing a title or dating the page. The lined paper version is the same.

If you value your field notes buy this ๐
These notepads are nearly indestructible and these are available at the best price I have found. So what's not to like about that? Notes can be very important, whether it is the GPS location of the cache you are seeking or the gear you need or wish you had for next time. During my career keeping track of details was a key part of doing a good job. Retired now keeping track of details is important to having the best experiences and a way to compensate for memory lapses. Lists help tremendously and taking notes helps to ensure those lists just keep getting better. Cheap notebooks fail too often. All it takes is a rainstorm or a playful tussle into a pond or stream or perhaps a rescue of something important or ensuring that big fish doesn't get away. You can craft your own stories to entertain the kiddies. Just buy some of these if you want your doodles and observations to last.

Well made, well priced
The Portage field notebook is a very well made product, available at a great price (currently $8.99/6-pack). Their size (3.5x5.5 inches) makes them perfect for everyday carry; large enough that entries do not look cramped & small enough to fit just about any pocket. Each notebook, with its 64 pages, is ideal for my use (one two-page spread per day) allowing one notebook to accommodate one month of entries & leaving (at minimum) the first & last pages for an index. I also appreciate having the inside covers left blank (unlike some competitors) to use for my own purposes. I have been using these notebooks daily for more than a year & can attest to their suitability & durability. However, two things would improve (but only slightly) their value to me: (1) A stitched rather than stapled binding (the center pages have become loose in a couple of notebooks). (2) A slightly heavier paper (there is a little bleed through with some fountain pens & markers). If these "enhancements" could be made without a significant increase in price, I believe these notebooks would be perfect! As it is, they are a great value & a product that I will continue to use for years to come.

Great value for money, but the lines are darker than most notebooks
This is a good value for the price. I'm coming from the Moleskine Cahier, so in comparison, the pages in this notebook feel slightly thinner and smoother, but still very usable. Also, the pages in the Cahier are perforated to tear out easily, but these are not. Finally, I got the version with a grid on the pages, and the ink is very dark - to the point where it's distracting. If I get these again, I'll probably go for either blank pages or the dot grid. The size is perfect for carrying in a pocket. I've just started using the first one, so I'll update this review if I notice any issues with durability/sturdiness, but so far they seem just fine for normal EDC use.

Well made and good value.
Better quality than notebooks that are selling for twice as much.

LOVE these!
I know all our tech devices have options/apps for notes - but these are perfect for my purse and house. I created a form to adhere to the pages, which helps us track veggies (V), fruit (F), protein (P), carbs (C), and snacks (S). AND track bp, weight, water intake...The opposite page allows for daily notes to indicate major points, or happenings of the day that may have affected each day's tracking information. You can also create a Gratitude Journal. I used some 'designer' cardstock to cover the front cover to perk it up. :)

Nice little notebook.
Perfect size and paper quality. And the cover looks to be durable to withstand a little abuse in my work pants pockets. Plus, the binding is stapled. Price point is also perfect.
