polishes
I have been using natural toothpastes for years and the last time I went to the dentist my hygienist said my teeth were so clean they weren't going to call the dentist in to look them over (too bad they still charged me). I opted for natural toothpaste years ago because the 'pro health' is heavily marketed in its home town and it was causing sores in my mouth. I was also finding it difficult to brush for a full two minutes because pastes were too foamy and filled my mouth up too quickly or the 'flavors' were too intense to tolerate for long. It wasn't till after I switched that I learned about all the chemicals and environmental aspects of regular toothpastes that weren't good so that only solidified my decision to switch. That being said, if you are new to natural toothpaste this one probably shouldn't be your first since it is a far cry from what you find in the grocers and might make the transition rough. That being said, I loved the natural toothpaste I was using before. Then I became sensitive to coconut and had to start looking for a new toothpaste. I was worried because gingivitis runs in my family and some toothpastes are not effective for me and a lot of them have coconut by-products. (avoiding coconut is hard-its everywhere!) so it was really tough at first, then someone suggested this paste. It really works! I sometimes use baking soda to whiten my teeth but have to be careful because it is so abrasive but not with this stuff, the clay is so gentle it gives my teeth that fresh from the dentist polished look! Now to be fair, this only happens when I commit to using it regularly and brush for the full two minutes ( I have another toothpaste I use sometimes when I am feeling frisky for more flavor- also coconut free). There is zero foaming and a very light mint taste. It has a tan/brown color to it but not in an off-putting way so no worries there. I do wish it were cheaper though since it is made with clay which is not an expensive product, but I am not going to start making my own because 'ain't nobody got time for that' so for now I will buy this. So happy to have this product!

Sensitivity - So Far, So Good
Update: I've been using Earthpaste for about 3.5 years now. I've had no cavities and my overall oral health has improved since switching to more "clean" products (I also routinely oil pull since I've had issues with gum inflammation in the past). My husband used to have a problem with skin peeling inside of his mouth (possibly from the sodium lauryl sulphate used in regular toothpaste); he has not had this problem since he started using Earthpaste. There has been some controversy about the clay in Earthpaste containing lead, but anything that comes out of the ground (including vegetables) contains some amount of lead. From what I've read, I'm personally not concerned. My teeth became very sensitive several years ago (to hot, cold, acidic food, even air sometimes) so I started using Sensodyne which was very helpful. I've been switching to more "clean" products, but was hesitant to change my toothpaste because I didn't want to be in pain. I decided to give Earthpaste a try and hope for the best. I was told that my sensitivity would return quickly if I stopped using Sensodyne. I've been using Earthpaste for almost 3 weeks and so far my teeth are not sensitive. I will update my review if my teeth become sensitive. The fluoride controversy is confusing, but fluoride didn't seem to be helping me; I was still getting cavities despite following my dentist's recommendation to use fluoride toothpaste, fluoride mouthwash, and prevident along with flossing, using a rubber tip and proxabrush, and cleanings every 3 months. I'll have to wait until my exam next spring to see if Earthpaste makes a difference, but as long as it doesn't make things much worse I'd rather use something natural. My teeth feel clean and my breath fresh after brushing and rinsing with water. The thinner, non-foaming consistency takes a little getting used to; the first week I was stopping in the middle of brushing to add more toothpaste because I didn't feel like I had covered my whole mouth. The peppermint flavor is more subtle than I expected, but I like it.

Great natural toothpaste.
I’ve been using Redmond Earthpaste for a while now and appreciate its commitment to natural ingredients. It’s refreshing to find a toothpaste free from fluoride, glycerin, SLS, and artificial colorants. The inclusion of bentonite clay and sea salt gives it a unique texture, and I feel confident about the cleanliness of my teeth after each use. While I personally enjoy the natural flavor, my kids weren’t as enthusiastic about the taste. However, knowing that it’s free from unnecessary chemicals makes it worthwhile. If you’re seeking a genuinely natural toothpaste alternative, this is a great choice!

Interesting formula - did not like the texture
I gave this 4 stars because of the texture. As much as it might be a better option for oral health, I couldn’t get past that it’s sandy and there’s absolutely no foaming. It however did clean my teeth well and the flavor was nice. Also, it comes out of the tube like a stick, so you have to paste it on your toothbrush and because of that texture, it can gather at the base of your tooth brush bristles and waste the product. Instead of putting it directly on my toothbrush, I put it on my tongue, swish it around my mouth till it was a liquid and then use my toothbrush.

Horrible natural product
I was excited to try this. It was horrible. The texture and taste. The way my teeth felt after was like I hadn’t even brushed. They still felt like they had a film on them. Save your money and try something else.

Good natural toothpaste that is actually healthy
update after using for 3 months: I had to use a traditional name brand toothpaste for a few days while waiting for a new tube of Earthpaste. Wow... what was I doing to my teeth before?! I didn't realize the difference until I went back. It tasted so much like chemicals and was very abrasive. No wonder I was having issues with my teeth. Earthpaste has definitely improved my enamel and I can tell a big difference in how white my teeth are. Seriously do yourself a favor an give this a try. It takes a bit of getting used to in the beginning, but it is so worth it for oral health!! I was skeptical about this toothpaste when I first ordered it. However, I will be ordering more and I want to try the other flavors. It has helped to naturally whiten my teeth over the course of using the product, which was a big reason I purchased it. My teeth had yellowed more over the years and I knew it wasn’t from my habits. I brushed my teeth often and I rarely drink dark liquids. I found out that regular toothpaste can actually wear away the enamel. This does not. It actually helps remineralize your enamel. So, in addition to whitening, it also has helped with tooth decay. I was having an issue with one tooth because the enamel was eroding around the gum. This has stooped and reversed some of that erosion. Thanks!

Cleaner, healthier mouth
This toothpaste is hands down amazing! This flavor is my favorite so far because it tastes more minty than the wintergreen, but those are the only two I have tried. Why is it amazing you ask? Well... 1. It is naturally derived. Yes, thank you. It is so much better than that junk you can get at the grocery store. 2. I have sensitive teeth and gums, largely due to an acidic diet. Since I have been using this toothpaste, I have noticed much less sensitivity! 3. It kills bacteria in my mouth. (About to get personal here, but hear me out). I have had an overgrowth of Candida in my mouth for several years. This is a yeast infection in the mouth that happens most when I am sick and have a weakened immune system. In addition, I usually have a thick white film in my mouth when I wake up and sometimes also at night. This KILLS it! In the morning, I brush and swish for awhile in my mouth, when I spit, there is tons of gunk! Like thick, nasty gunk that had been on my tongue. This never happened before and kind of freaked me out when I first used this toothpaste. I will never go back to regular toothpaste again. My mouth feels so much healthier and cleaner. In addition, to people with sensitivity issues, alkaline water has also helped. It keeps the pH balanced in your mouth which makes the acid you eat less harmful. It also tastes good.

super Zahnpasta
Nur natuerliche Zutaten, macht Zaehne gut sauber ohne Glycerin dass Remineralisierung verhindert, und Zaehne werden langsam haerter. Geschmack ist auch gut.

Helpful toothpaste that tastes good
We have been using this product for over a year. Love that I have finally been able to find a toothpaste that is truly 'natural' and does not contain any chemicals of which their use in dental care is, at best, not proven. This product contains xylitol, one of the few (the only?) substance that is proven to prevent cavities. The paste is clay-based and thus brown-grey in colour. While brushing it doesn't foam, since it doesn't contain foaming agents (which is good ;-). We find however that it has a nice feel in the mouth, not even that dissimilar in structure to conventional tooth pastes. We use the peppermint flavour and think it tastes lovely: both soft and refreshing, not an annoying hash freshness, if this makes any sense. The tube may perhaps seem pricy to some, but we used 1 tube for a whole year (2 persons using it, brushing once a day). We noticed no difference in our dental health. We were both free of cavities and have stayed so.

We think it's great...
After we were close to using up our first tube my teen son asked when we could get more because he didn't want to use any other tooth paste.... so we bought him some for Christmas this year... he was thrilled.
