Zero after taste. Best bottled water ever!
Just the idea of drinking plain water is abhorrent to me. And sure, I've done the fruit infused thing, but who has the time to do that or the money? Not me. Our water comes from a well and it's ok, if you like drinking water. I don't. But I've been having muscle cramps in my legs and feet for weeks. The charlie horse, growing pain type cramps. The kind where my big toe tries it's wish bone imitation or all my toes squish together like a toe orgy. It starts in one foot and after a few minutes it subsides... Only to start again in the other foot. Total agony!!! I've tried muscle relaxers, anti inflammatories, drinking tomato juice, and even soaking my feet in water and apple cider vinegar. And massaging coconut oil with apple cider vinegar into my feet. Desperate? Who me. Nothing worked. I was thinking amputation, and then my brother who knows all said "drink 8 glasses of water a day" and I'm like "I already do. It's in my coffee." And then I remembered ESSENTIA. I first started drinking this water when I lived in Arizona. I used to go into one of those health food stores (hey, it was next to my work and they had a huge salad bar...) and one day they were offering free samples... Of water. I'm like, "no, I don't drink water" and she says "because of the after taste?" And I said yes. She said "then try this." It was like drinking wet, smooth, liquid air. Zero after taste. It has electrolytes, and it quenches my thirst. I used to have to find a health food store to order Essentia for me. And now I find it on Amazon. And what's really great, is it's cheaper than what I paid the health food stores and it arrived a day earlier than they said it would. I've drank almost half of a bottle so far today (and no brother, I didn't use it to make my coffee!) But, hmmmm....

I recommend this product for those who have a particular need ...
This is an interesting product. It has a "soft, lubricating" feel to it. Can't tell from the ingredients why. I don't detect a particular taste. I recommend this product for those who have a particular need for an alkaline (opposite of acidic) liquid, or additional electrolytes. Keep in mind this is $5 a gallon water. The body regulates electrolytes very closely. Those are the names that contain the words like calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, and sodium. Most people get all they need from food. Even if you have a crummy diet, these molecules are very plentiful in food. Even fast food. High activity can cause a temporary shortage. And liquids like this and Gatorade are quick replenishers. Humans evolved, and there are 6 billion of them now, on free water. Still want $5 a gallon water? (If you don't have acid reflux there's no reason to read below). People with acid reflux have a problem with one or both valves in the esophagus. Healthy valves keep the acid in the stomach. If it backs up into the esophagus, it burns the tissue. Essentia being alkaline can help neutralize the acid in the esophagus, reducing the inflammation and sores. I have L-P reflux. The M.D. said it's not curable. I've seen the endoscopic pictures. I'm out to prove him wrong. (I can't if the valves are permanently damaged, but he doesn't know if they are. He's never looked at them. I reason that the acid can't be kind to the valves either). I proved an ENT wrong 20 years ago when he said I had to have a lesion laser-ed off my vocal chord. He said it would never cure. The cost of that made me think hard. I quit all of the peppermints and salsa I came to love six months earlier when I quit smoking. He knew of that. I quit abusing myself with that, and the lesion self-healed. I'm also utilizing a probiotic(fancy word for friendly bacteria) and Greek yogurt (yum) just in case there's some bacterial in-balance in my stomach. And I'm self-medicating with a logical Rx. I can't go into that because it's my own unproven science. I drink 5 mugs of 50-50 coffee (5 x 8oz). My ph strip indicated it takes one Tums to neutralize the acid per mug. Acids (like in lemonade) contribute to the pleasure of a lot of liquids. So I chew up a Tums before each cup so it's there to neutralize the excess acid as it hits. So as far as the stomach is concerned it's coffee flavored water. PPIs don't work very well so I stopped them. Why bother? And during the day I sip Essentia to neutralize any acid that might have backed up. The symptoms stopped entirely for a couple of months last fall, but came back for unknown reasons. I've only used one bottle of Essentia, but I think it helps. It's still way to early to tell.

The best bottled water ever! I am telling everyone about this water!
I have been drinking this water for about 3 weeks now and the results are amazing! I have had acid reflux for about 17 years and was taking medication daily. Not any more! Since drinking this water, I no longer have heartburn everyday and I have been taking my medication only twice a week! Even when I was taking my medication everyday (Protonix, Nexium or Prilosec) if I ate hot wings, pizza, or any other acidic food, I would get some heartburn. Since I have been drinking the Essentia Water I have no heartburn when I eat these foods occasionally. I drink one bottle a day with ease. The taste is so smooth and goes down easily. I told a co-worker about this water who was a die hard Evian Water fan and she loves it also! I sold her one of my cases and she said she feels amazing and is not going back to Evian! I have tried many bottled waters and this is the best! I have more energy and I have even lost 4 pounds since drinking this water. I am not saying this is a weight loss cure but the added benefit of losing weight was welcomed! If you are a water drinker or just want to increase your water intake, then get this water! You will not be disappointed!

Water snob's review
Don't order this from Amazon. My bottles arrive constantly crushed and broken. I had a subscription for year and I finally just canceled it because I can't take it anymore and they won't do anything about it. I'll start getting it from the grocery store again and pay a little more. Amazon just throws it in a box with a piece of brown paper and then the Amazon fleet delivery drivers drop it on my stairs and break bottles constantly. Anyway, onto the actual review... The taste is highly fresh and clean, natural tasting, not bitter or chemical tasting whatsoever unlike other similar products. It's in a BPA free bottle but honestly it gets a nasty plastic chemical taste if it gets too warm for too long (think sun / near heater), so I'm sure it's leeching something. I keep it in a backpack or in glass or steel thermos if I'm going in the sun. Pretty much all I drink is water. Essentia is more hydrating than anything I've ever tried, and I'm somewhat ashamed to admit ($$$) but this is all I've drank in the last two years because my town's tap water is full of nasty chems. This is the water I've settled on. Regular water doesn't do it for me, I need four times (or more) as much than I do with this, and this also absorbs better. I was concerned about receiving it in the mail and having it taste differently from storage/transport but it does not as long as it's not left in the sun or snow. I wish 5 gallon bottles existed because I order 4 cases each month with subscription and it occupies a lot of space in my house. Lastly, I've tested the pH and it is "9.5 pH or higher" as advertised.

Good product -- good delivery
We have been buying 1-case almost weekly -- for quite some time now (1-2? years)... We like the high-alkalinity (alleged) 'health' properties -- & definitely like the taste... I also for the prior 2-4 years, bought / drank LOTS of 'mineral waters' -- almost ALL of which are LOW pH -- & HIGH minerals content... During that time, I had several kidney stones -- which caused the typical problems... Since using the high-pH water, I have been CLEAR of kidney stones (per ongoing urological follow-ups / ultrasounds)... For OUR (level of) need, the cost (& convenience) of these 1.5l bottles -- we believe that getting ~weekly deliveries is better than getting a (high-pH) water machine... Also, because of the (amazingly reliable & fast) Amazon Prime shipping -- we don't (have great) risk of 'running out' -- and (Importantly) we preserve the flexibility of 'skipping weeks' -- (as, for instance, when we go on 'spontaneous' or planned 1-wk - 1-mo trips)... I've tried buying on 'subscriptions' on various products (c.f., vitamins) -- but, 'in no time -- FLAT', it seems that I/we ALWAYS end up with EXCESS supply of whatever we subscribe to... Re this Essentia water, the pricing 'incentive' to 'subscribe' -- at the present time -- is much TOO narrow to 'get STUCK' with having subscription (vs just ordering online every 1-2 weeks)... For ME, to do the subscription option would have to be (say) 20-25% LOWER vs the (~weekly) individual shipments... [ I guess that -- from a marketing standpoint -- (Amazon's) reliable / FAST shipping -- & ('IMMEDIATE') online ordering -- cuts against (traditional 'contractual'-style) 'subscription' marketing paradigms :)... ]

It's chemistry, not magic....
Tastes great, has electrolytes besides a very base pH, and is inexpensive. For all the people squawking about inaccurate pH results: stop using litmus paper! It has limited range and there is an easier, cheaper way. Chop half a head of red cabbage finely, scoop it into a large coffee filter, pour 2 cups boiling water over it and let it cool. You'll need two droppers - one for your tested liquid, one for your cabbage juice - and a shallow dish, preferably non reactive (such as glass) and clear or opaque white. Drop a few drops of your test liquid - in this case, Essentia water - into the dish, then slowly, one by one, drop in a few drops of the cabbage juice. You'll see a color change very quickly. Red cabbage extract shows the entire pH spectrum (unlike litmus paper), going from pink at the acidic end to blue in the neutral zone (7) then green and finally yellow out at 14. Google the phrase, "red cabbage juice pH meter" and compare. And no, the pH will not change after 7 days as stated by one question; pH is the measure of the negative logarithm of hydrogen ion concentration and that won't change by just sitting around in a plastic bottle. And yes, you could just add baking soda and get the same pH, but you'd also get whatever dissolved solids are also in your local water - and possibly not the electrolytes you seek.

This is the best water, imo, so far!
I've been trying to get the last bit of post nasal drip caused by reflux out of my system for the past 2 months and this has been a sure fire!! This is my 2nd time buying a case...the 1st was on Amazon a few weeks ago then I ran out FAST..then I found that my local Yes Organic store carries it so I purchased a case on Thursday. I've run out already. But just after 1 full day of consuming 2.5 bottles my coughing has stopped! I learned that alkaline water helps get rid of pepsin residue left in the larynx caused by the reflux flare ups...and I am just soooooo happy to have found the best water. Other bottled waters like Deer Park do nothing but hydrate me but I was still coughing horribly afterwards. I also found that coconut water also helps with reflux but the taste isn't really a favorite of mine. Essentia water has also done extremely well keeping me hydrated during a 7 day intro week of Bikram hot yoga, hence why I killed the case of water so fast on the initial purchase. I will continue to purchase this by the case until I can afford a water ionizer machine. Update 4/26/17 Packaging always arrives in tact and in the manufacturers box inside of a shipping box. This is the professional manner a product such as this should be shipped and it makes me happy. I do have an expensive water ionizer but unfortunately I haven't been able to use it lately due to some plumbing installment issues. I will keep buying from this vendor as long as I need to!

A Nurses's Review
I am a nurse. I have been buying this water since Sept 2016 and started drinking it to see if it would help with my acne since I've tried dermatologists and everything under the sun. I did not notice a difference with my acne as I've finally figured out it was an allergy related to makeup and products. But what I did notice is that I have been around all kinds of sick people, coworkers, patients, kids, etc and I have not had a virus or illness once. There were 3 times when I felt like I was getting sick and I just drank more Essentia water and it never amounted to anything at all. I've had 2 sinus surgeries for allergies and been on antibiotics off and on for years for viral and allergy related sinus infections. I've barely taken any medications since drinking this water and I was an almost daily Allegra user. I'm real hesitant and skeptical to give such good review over alkaline water because there is very little research to back up what I've experienced. What the research "suggests" though is that viruses have a difficult time surviving in an alkaline environment. If I can spend a little money drinking alkaline water and not get sick, then I'd say it's definitely worth not missing work, time and energy going to the doctor, and battling a virus for several weeks. So I'm going to keep drinking it! I'm the type that gets sick all the time and seasonal sick as the weather changes. Fall and winter is always the worst. Haven't gotten one cold or anything this year yet! This has never ever happened to me! I've tried other alkaline waters but did not experience the same effects. I will update this post in the coming months but for now I'm a believer. Many of my nurse coworkers that have been sick with upper respiratory infections are buying this water. I will be interested to hear their experiences too! My daughter started getting sicker few weeks ago, sore throat and spiked a temp and I had her drink a bunch of Essentia water that night and subsequent 2 days and she had minimal symptoms after and was completely fine in less than 48 hours. Coincidence? We shall see. As for now I'm willing to spend the money for this company to keep making good water. And maybe someday I will get my own ph water system!
