Very nice external drive for my MacAir. For me, it was a simple plug and play setup. Slip in a audio CD or movie disc and the drive will spin up automatically while my Mac opens the appropriate software to read the disk. Have used almost daily for several years and still functions just fine.

Works perfectly with my Macbook Air 2022! Super easy to use and I was able to burn a cd with zero hassle. Great product!

Only thing keeping this from being a 5 starred review is the speed. It's not the fastest but it's the most reliable I have found. It's great.

Bought this because my new computer didn't have a CD/DVD drive. I needed something to RIP my CD collection to my new computer. It works great, goes out of the way when not needed and it cost much less than having to pay for a DVD burner pre built into your computer. Simple to use. Easy to understand. Now all my CD's are easily accessible on my computer and can easily be transferred to other devices for my listening pleasure.

Got this primarily to look at medical CDs which tend to be "data-heavy" and honestly didn't expect much but it's come through brilliantly! The size is perfect, I keep it with all the "medical records" in an expandable file folder so that's a MAJOR PLUS! It's also great because there isn't any software to be installed. Simply plug it in and use it! REALLY quick, convenient. And it runs as well as a "built-in" CD reader. Not sure how it is at burning CDs. Will have to give it a try soon. But if it functions this well reading medical discs, looks VERY promising. And for the cost, it was one of those purchases WELL WORTH the investment. Plug it in and use it. Couldn't ask for better.

I never thought I’d ever have to burn a CD these days, but I ran into a situation where I did. It works great with the MacBook M5 Pro. It’s fast and does a wonderful job, and it’s a great purchase for the price. It’s very compact and easy to stow away in a drawer in case you need it again.

Would not connect for me to a Lenovo T16 windows 11 laptop. Not via a powered usbA stack, nor usbA on the laptop, nor usbC on the laptop. Works fine on a Lenovo T530 windows 7, but that one has a built-in CD drive so is no use on either laptop. Ok, upgrade from 1 (doesn't work) to 4 (seems fine). Took 3 days and nearly wore perplexity.ai out, but here's what grudgingly emerged. Device Manager shows its driver as cdrom.sys, which is correct, but doesn't load, shows an error code 32, apparently meaning some other driver got to the device first. That driver turns out to be PxHlpa64.sys (Roxio/Sonic relic), and it comes from the Windows REGISTRY! The key is (I kid you not) \HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318 and the culprit is the value LowerFilters REG_MULTI-SZ PxHlpa64. DELETE that value from that key, reboot, and cdrom.sys gets the job (and works). You really can't hate M$oft and Windows enough.

Despite it says on the box that it works with Linux OS, it does not! There is an email in the manual and the answer I got when I asked for an installing driver for the latest LTS release of Linux was: "Hi, Sorry for not being able to reply you earlier. Having sent your issue to our technical team, we were told this external drive doesn't support Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS. It work fine with Mac and windows system. Sorry for the inconvenience and sincerely thank you for your understanding and patience. Best regards" This is why I gave this item the minimum score for portability. As for easy to use, I think the cable could be a bit longer, because when I'm home I use a platform to elevate my notebook, so the screen is horizontally aligned to my eyesight. I am going to test the drive with Windows, but that is going to be a pain in the neck to keep switching between OS just because of it.

Bin zufrieden. Macht, was es soll. DVDs abspielen. Für den Preis gibt es nix zu meckern.

Je l'ai branché sur mon ''laptop'' car celui-ci n'a pas de lecteur CD/DVD intégré. Globalement, je suis satisfait du résultat. Bon rapport qualité-prix.
