I was redoing my garage and after painting, I thought the old garage door sensor wire looked old and dingy. I purchased this wire since it is the same gauge and type of wire. I am replacing. This wire looks much better and the best part is it is coiled in a box with an opening that allows you to pull the wire without opening the box. I love that feature the best!

TLDR: Use it to distribute low-power DC to my home automation devices throughout the house. Does exactly what it should. Price is agreeable. Quality is good. Easy to run along low-visibility paths. No problems so far. For the last 6 months, I've been moving all of my networked devices, home automation, and so on to local network only. I decided to stop supporting devices that require corporate servers/cloud-dependence to function. Been burned too many times, tired of losing access to features, sending them my data, having to go through THEM to get to MY data, and just tired of supporting that kind of company financially. Part of this process has been building out my own home automation devices. You can buy a lot of excellent (SONOFF, Agara, ThirdReality) home automation sensors and other devices for fairly low cost and many of them will run on battery power for 1-2 years. There are a few specific devices that are prohibitively expensive, though, and not incredibly difficult to build yourself if you don't mind losing a tiny bit of precision or sacrificing some energy efficiency. I don't like battery powering the devices I build, personally. I don't want to deal with changing batteries on a bunch of devices distributed throughout the house, even if it's infrequently. Instead, I have a central power source plugged into an uninterruptable power supply, and I run these low-power DC lines to each room of the house. From there, I can distribute power out to automation devices in that room. Running the lines against the top of baseboards or behind crown molding and it's pretty much invisible.

I wanted solid wire to extend the power supplies for some cameras and solid wires for a long distance or a better bang for your buck if you’re running in a long distance.

I bought this to add in a second garage door button so I could have one in the front and one in the back. I ended up getting a new opener and used this wire for both the front and back buttons. Works great.

Great cable deal. This cable seems good quality. The insulation of the individual conductors (one colored red and one colored white) seems durable. The conductors are solid-core. The outer-insulation is white and seems durable. I intend to use this cable as RS485 control of PTZ cameras. The cable will be run through the attic. If it is run outside, it will be painted.

Purchased to add additional sensors and repair wiring damaged during flooring installation. Wire is as expected. Even better is the self-feeding spool in which the wire was delivered. Very convenient.
