This center finding square is used to accurately and efficiently find the center of both round and square stock. This center finder square is made from tool steel and lapped to a fine finish. The joint is taper pinned to maintain accurate measurements. Length of the leg from the inside corner to tip is 3", overall length is 5-3/4". Overall thickness is 0.500". Will find the center of a 5" square and a 6" circle. Review: Clever design, SUPER ACCURATE! Near fool proof in use - Any given week at work I will have 20 or more hours on a lathe. On any given day I may turn diameters as small as 3/16 ths to as large as 7 feet in diameter. Over 90% of that work is done at sub .001" tolerance. On the small stuff this thing rules! And to me that is the stuff that is hardest to find center on, especially with a combo square. I love the bevel on the scribe arm! Every surface is machined very accurately! So it doubled as a small machinist square. Set it in your V block on the mill and indicate the true center of it! I cannot begin to list half of the ways I have used this lil cutie pie! Oh! When I put a set screw over an internal keyway! Especially the big stuff that can't fit in a mill vise and you have to align it all by layout.... Scribe the centerline of the keyway on the face, the from the outer diameter, blade facing the keyway, rotate this gem gem around until it lines up with the centerline and you have your screw location on center of your key. I always get excited when I get to use my lil cutie pie! LOL This isn't a gizmo or trinket. It is an innovative design manufactured from quality materials and is over built All honesty? I would compare it to something made in Athol, Mass or Japan..... But they don't make any thing this versatile that does it's intended job so flawlessly. To TayTools: Make a 6" 12" and 24" bladed version and I will purchase 1 of each! Ray the Maker Review: Reliable, accurate, and heavy duty. - This center finder has a lot of heft. Itโs heavy but more importantly, it is very accurate. Ifs hard to say anything negative about Taylor Toolworks tools. Theyโre made well with high tolerances. I recommend this for general woodworking and turning.

Great Idea!
This tool simplifies the process and allows you to find center of a circular object or a square one. I know these type of tools are out there, but I've been looking for this one for awhile. It's very heavy duty in make up but also heavy in weight for what it is. The quality is very good. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is because of its weight. Seriously, it feels more like a weapon then what its suppose to be used for. I think if it could be made out of a synthetic material over a thin metal, it would be better. Bottom line though is it does what it was designed for very well and I'd by it again if I lost this one.

does what it says.
This is a great little centerfinder for any round or square stock that is less than six inches in diameter. Obviously if the item is over three inches, you can't draw a line all the way across but you can still find the center. It has a nice weight to it meaning it's solid and can be used as a paper weight if you're so inclined. It will also stick to magnets which is how I have mine stored on the wall.

Worked perfectly for my needs so far.
Purchased specifically for my metal arts class, this tool has proven its worth on a single project so far. Its performance aligned seamlessly with my requirements, functioning flawlessly. Notably robust in build, this tool's sturdiness assures me that with prudent care, it should serve reliably for an extended period without succumbing to any unlikely mishaps. I look forward to its continued assistance throughout my artistic endeavors.
