Diffuses a lot of light, blocks a lot of light
This might work well for diffusing direct sunlight on a window, but it dims the light too much if you're just trying to soften bright LED lights. Might be a good material for making a lampshade out of. I had a pool table which was properly lit with 1600 lumen (100W equivalent) bulbs. I upgraded to 2000 lumen bulbs (125W equivalent) when buying the diffuser as I knew I would lose some light. With a light meter on the surface of the table (about 1m away) I'm seeing the measured light level drop from 500 lux to 250 lux with the film in front of it. This means I need to more than double the brightness of my bulbs to maintain similar illumination. The film does an amazing job of diffusion. A light meter placed right below the lampshade reads 20,000 nits without the diffuser and 400 nits with the diffuser. Lights I couldn't bear to look at now have an inviting glow. With the diffusion film about 8 inches from the bulbs, I can't see any bright spots on the diffusion sheet directly under the bulb - it appears evenly lit. An object placed directly in front of the diffuser no longer casts a noticeable shadow on the table due to the large area of illumination. I wish it didn't block so much light, but buying brighter bulbs is worth it to me to get this level of diffusion.

Very Transparent
I took a chance and found this was not as translucent as I thought it would be. No knock on the product though. Also bought a sheet of Rosco Cinegel Silent Frost on the same order and it was what I wanted (to soften the light from some LED under-cabinet strip lights).

Easily damaged/succeptable to stain by touching
For the cost, I was expecting something more heavy duty like a thin plastic that was bendable. This is nearly paper with a slightly more sturdy consistency. Definitely no good placing things on top of it for photos; it simply dirties it up and creates creases in it despite how cautious you are. Better off (much better off) with poster board plus itโs literally a fraction of the cost.

Good Product .. Best for Backdrop
Measures .010"thk, not as translucent as I'd hoped for, but good product. Has the texture of plasticized paper, though it could be plastic. Honestly I don't know, but feels like it will do the job for the right application. I bought for use as a diffuser, which it does well, though it is much more opaque than transparent, so you'll lose a lot of light. I see it excellent as a backdrop where you're going to backlight to highlight a product, or as a very flexible backdrop.

shipped product has changed [UPDATED]
one star b/c this was a repeat purchase (first purchase was in Dec 2017) but the shipped product has markedly changed -- it is now thicker and has a blue cast (vs. slightly red previously). returning. UPDATE: after notified seller of issue, received prompt response explaining the change in product, their plans to re-source the original product, and an immediate full refund. this is now apparently the original product again & have re-ordered. will update stars once rec'd and confirmed. very attentive seller either way

Good material
Used for a light table, worked well but tends to sag. Mostly my problem.

Kitchen Lights
I replaced my old Florescent lights with LED Shop Lights and they were too bright. I cut strips of this material 3 in. x 35 in. and taped to fixtures with duct tape. It worked great. It cut down the brightness just enough for a pleasant lighting.
