Review: Great budget pin pointer - Great if you're on a budget. I bought this for metal detecting and it works very well for its modest prices, has a good strength and can even pick up pipes and cables in walls etc. Obviously not on par with the expensive pin pointers but ideal for starting out. I cannot vouch for its effectiveness in water as I'm reluctant to try Review: It’s good enough. Just. Do not buy a cheaper one. - It’s not as good as a top end model, as you’d expect, but it’s better than the many cheap ones on desertcart. It has a decent range which is ample to get you in the ballpark of the target, but unfortunately gives the same feedback whether you’re touching it or up to a few CM away. This is fine for most targets, but makes locating very small items a pain. The way I deal with that is by also taking along one of the dirt cheap pinpointers available on here that only detects a small target when you’re practically touching it. It’s next to useless on its own, but by using both, I have the functionality of a high end pinpointer at half the cost.
