Works great, image quality even on CRT is hugely improved. PS2 recognizes component video in the config. Try this with PS1 games to see how good they actually look.

Used this for my PS2 slim on an older model LCD TV. The graphics are better than when I was a teen playing on a CRT-TV or LCD using the standard anolog input. Highly recommend this over an HDMI upscaler if you have the component inputs for it.

Unexpected improvement. As many note, it’s not about resolution (PS2 was no HD console) but quality of image, colors and details. With large LED tvs, the image gets so much washed out if you use the regular cable. With this quality product, you can read and see everything much better. The wires are thick and the product is heavier than the average cable. Plug ‘n play!!!

Biggest thing to watch out for is your TV mounting/bracket solution. This almost didn't work for me only because my adjustable mount is trash.

Great built quality and price

Bought this to see about replacing the original Sony composite cables for my original PS2. TV didn't have connection for the older RCA/composite cables (Yellow, red, and white) so I originally tried buying a cheap RCA/composite to HDMI converter. Had many an issue with that method with the main one being that the picture quality was very poor and the brightness levels were way off (super dark). Whether that was because of the converter or the Sony video cables, couldn't tell you. But switching to these cables made a huge difference. Picture is super sharp (for a PS2) and more importantly the brightness levels are normal. I did have to switch the settings in the PS2 system configuration menu so that the video output was YPbPr instead of just the yellow (composite) video. To that I needed to connect the PS2 using the composite video included in this cable, so beware of that. Build quality is insane as well. Great product!

Permette di risparmiare una presa HDMI e la qualità video su PS2 è molto buona, con colori vivi e contorni definiti. Ci sono diversi video che mettono a confronto le varie opzioni di connessione video e il cavo component ne esce sempre bene, a patto che il cavo sia di buona qualità come questo. La qualità di uscita è simile ai semplici adattatori PS2 to HDMI, che però sulle slim hanno il problema dei connettore di alimentazione che si scontra con lo spinotto di alimentazione della console, cosa che non accade con questo connettore (parlo dei classici connettori neri economici che sfruttano lo stesso segnale component, da evitare quelli gialli che vanno sul composite). Occhio che il prezzo di questo cavo PS2 component con connettore video “arrotondato” varia molto in rete ed anche qui su Amazon ci sono più offerte, nel momento in cui io l'ho ordinato queste andavano dagli 11 e qualcosa con coupon ai 26 euro. Direi che, riuscendo a restare sulla fascia dei 13€ circa, è un ottimo modo per collegare la PS2 alla TV ottenendo un'ottima qualità visiva, senza andare a finire sui rescaler, che sono su un altro livello di prezzo e prestazioni e per un'utenza di appassionati disposti a spendere cifre importanti.

Perfect for me at a good price. Note: If the AV-in was used with standard composite video cable before, the Video input option must be changed to ColorStream or Component on most tv set. Otherwise the display won't be proper (Rainbow-like hues and odd colors). Just saying cause I've seen people unaware of this.
