Great Lather, Delicate Scent
After trying Proraso in the green can, I thought I'd give the sandalwood scent a try, and Proraso did not disappoint! Same great lather which makes for a comfortable close shave. The sandalwood scent is strongest while shaving, but leaves only a slight hint on the skin afterwards. If you enjoy the fragrance of sandalwood, this version of Proraso won't let you down, especially while shaving. Personally, I prefer not walking around in a cloud of fragrance, and I very much like the gentle leave-behind of this shave soap compared to some that can leave you with watery eyes, struggling to breathe. The lather-up is easy and no fuss. I used a nylon bristle shaving brush and get excellent lather and laydown with it. The soap leaves a nice slick gliding surface, but not enough to impede the efficiency of the razor. You can either load the brush and work up a thick foam in a separate lathering bowl, or go straight to lathering directly on the skin. Compared to extra slick creams like Cremo, I'm finding that two passes is all I need with Proraso. Highly recommended both for veteran wet shavers and beginners. Easy to use, easy cleanup, and comes in its own custom shaving bowl. For the extra mileage you'll be getting from this shave soap, and the outstanding quality of the product, the price is unbeatable.

Proraso red is the best one
This is my favorite Proraso. For me it seems to be the most easy to lather and the most cushioning. The green Proraso is good but it also has a ton of menthol, so it’s not good all the time. The white one smells great but it seems to need a better balance of water to soap. The blue one doesn’t smell like anything and didn’t feel much different than the white one. The red one smells really good, and lathers very well and seems to calm down the irritation on my face better. I also noticed that instead of the vegetable base of the white Proraso this one appears to have beef tallow(stearic acid) in it which would explain why I believe that it performs better overall. Something about beef tallow protects the face well and helps the razor glide. I used shave oil too because their pre shave isn’t that great I think. Also the cream is convenient but i recommend the tubs because they are actually less work on my opinion to lather and they are cheaper and last longer than the tubes. Just a heads up.

Perfect for Coarse Beards and Smells Amazing!
This shaving soap works incredibly well if you have a thick or coarse beard. It lathers up easily in the bowl and really softens the hair, which helps provide a much smoother, closer shave with less irritation. On top of the great performance, the sandalwood scent is fantastic—classic, masculine, and not overpowering. Highly recommend giving this a try

Shaving Cream! Be nice & clean
Shave every day & you'll always look clean. The red proraso smells super duper good. It's a smooth lather & works really well for shaving. Miles above canned goo, this stuff will last you a long time, making it well worth the price.

Excellent shaving soap/cream
This is the best shaving soap/cream I have ever used. In the past, I have only used Nivea, Gillette, and Barbasol shaving creams. I recently purchased a Yaqi shaving brush out of curiosity, and decided to pull the trigger on this Proraso shaving soap based on company history and customer reviews. Well, now I understand why Proraso has the loyal following and stellar reputation that it does. I find it quite different from the other shaving creams I used. I don’t know how else to explain it other than to say that this shaving soap felt thicker, creamier, and more luxurious than anything else I used previously. I also got a better/closer shave when using my Mach3 blades, and my skin felt better afterwards. Meaning, I didn’t feel the same type of discomfort or irritation right after shaving that I felt when using those other shaving creams. I didn’t feel the immediate urge to apply after shave, although, after trying this Proraso shaving soap, I also went ahead and purchased the Proraso after shave balm. The smell of this shaving soap is also pleasant..masculine but mild. I can definitely say that if you’re on the fence, you should definitely try this. It’s without a doubt a high quality shaving soap/cream, and in my opinion, worth the higher price.

These are good shaving soaps
I bought all 3 Proraso soaps (Green, White, Red). With any of the 3 you can get a good lather and a good shave. I personally didn't care for the mentholated green soap. I could feel a slight menthol sensation in my eyes when I applied the whipped soap to my face. Also - Not always a big fan of the cooling sensation it provides. If you like that, it might be the soap for you. Those things aside, it has a pleasant, fresh scent. The white is for sensitive skin, but I never noticed a difference on MY skin. It also has a pleasant, fresh scent, and is probably the mildest scent of the three. I'll likely return to it every once in a while, just for a change. I suspect the "red" might work very slightly better on stiff stubble, which is what it's designed for. (It should be allowed to sit on the stubble for a minute to work best.) In the end, I think the scent is probably as important a distinction as any, and my preference is for the Sandalwood (red). I'd rate them as: Green 4 stars, at most. White 4.5 stars Red 5 stars

High quality and affordable.
Great shaving soap. It’s affordable and very high quality. The smell is not what I expected, but it’s actually very pleasant. Soft, sweet, and clean, not as woodsy as I thought it might be with the sandalwood. Plus no animal products in it. (Beef tallow is gross!) Will be buying more!

Exceeds Expectations
This product is a perfect well-rounder. You can use the soap directly from its bowl, and it has a decent scent and texture too. On another note, I have sensitive skin and it didn’t irritate my skin at all. Definitely would recommend.

Great for daily shave
This is brilliant shaving soap. Smells great and lathers really easily. It’s super competitive from a price point too. My go-to soap these days.
