Review: Best Book for New and Seasoned Art Teachers EVER!!!!!! - The Art Teacher's Book of Lists, 2nd Edition, was suggested to me by a fellow Art of Education University Master's Degree Student! I can not recommend this book enough for future and seasoned art teachers! I provide an incredible amount of information in one place, which would take hours to find and many sites to click if searching the internet for similar information. Thank you Helen Hume for pulling this all together in one place! Review: Great book for any art teacher of any kind - I bought this book and have found it very helpful. It gives you a great overview of (mostly) all art topics. I find it very helpful to be a spring board for art lessons. It also has some helpful diagrams throughout the book to help show the students' different concepts.

the first had some great ideas that were omitted from this edition
Used this book in a recent graduate class. Comparatively, the first had some great ideas that were omitted from this edition. Some of the information is a bit dated, Ms. Hume (i.e., 2010 NAEA Visual Arts standards). Otherwise, students made good use of it. Nice reference tool.

Better than the print version
I love this book. I bought the print edition but the quality of the printing is so poor I had to buy the digital. I use these lists almost daily in my advanced classes. There are great website resources as well as art history and technique breakdowns. This is NOT a book of premade lesson plans so if that's what you're after don't spend your money here. It is a quick jumping off point.

Amazing art reference book!
What a treasure this book is! It's not an exaggeration to say it's almost exhaustive in its scope. Everything from names of art supplies with their purposes, great websites for art reference, museums around the world, names of art techniques, timelines, names of art movements, etc. Well worth it!

Great for Art Teachers (in training)
I bought this to add to my collection of helpful books for teaching art while completing my year of student teaching. It is great. Has fun, complete, and diverse lists, can be easy to incorporate in the classroom daily. Everything you need to know and all the stuff I forgot in undergrad Art History. :)

For Frozen Artists Lost in Current Events
Do you feel paralysis because art is supposed to be... "realistic", "abstract", "poster of current political movement", "purchase worthy", on & on... Helen D. Hume takes you personally as an artist into your unique perspective, encouraging creative starting points that make sense, and once again finding your voice. It is a doorway that opens outside the former class room and straight into your own art studio or design platform.

Great content, but disappointed the cover and first several pages came damaged.
I ordered this because it was required for one of my classes last year and I loved the information it contained. I wanted it as a reference for my future classroom, so I ordered it. I was upset that it came damaged, but none of the content was destroyed, so to save a return I am just going to fix the cover, tape a few pages and carry on!
