Whole Raw Chestnuts 2 Pounds

Love chestnuts and very sweet

I ordered this in error; my intent was to reorder from a different company. This error cost me about $50. I love chestnuts; buy a lot of them every winter. This were the absolute worst chestnuts I tasted in my 50 years. Absolutely nasty taste. I intened to reorder from the Washington Chestnut Company; those were awesome.

Speed shipment and the quality and flavor of the chestnuts is amazing!!! I haven't had these since I was a child and they are as good as I remembered when I was little. Thank you!!! Mickey

Large and beautiful, Decent taste, and Hard to toast. About quarter of them are bad.

The chestnuts had mold, I thought it was maybe one of tow, once I roasted them and looked inside of them they were all gross. I will upload the pictures here. I tried to reach out to the seller but had no response, do not buy this, it is gross and lame.

This is the best. I will order again. Hope they keep the quality. It is time to cook chicken soup with chestnuts. ATTN: I have a follow-up review here. I just peeled the entire bag of the nuts. There is not a single one bad. Every nut is fresh and good-colored.

I'm not sure where the chestnuts were from but I feel they may have been imported from far away. It took them over a week to get to me and they came in a simple plastic bag with some paper tissues stuffed inside to help with the moisture; the entire ensemble was placed in a USPS envelope. They do not taste great and quite a few were already gone bad. I'm sure it's also my fault for wondering chestnuts online but I couldn't find them at my local Whole Foods anymore. Quite disappointing.

most of these are pretty small, like in-the-shell hazelnuts, about a dozen were closer to the size of small in-the-shell pecans. They were loosely packed inside the bubble mailer they were shipped in. ALL of the chestnuts were very evenly covered in what looked like dust or dirt & the package had an earthy smell to it so I'm guessing it wasn't mold. Most of it rinsed off during the float test to check for bad chestnuts, only 7 chestnuts floated during the test. I hand washed all the nuts, and they look pretty good after rinsing. This is my first time with chestnuts, so I'm not sure just how much give a good & fresh chestnut is supposed to have, but to my touch, they were all very firm with just a slightly noticeable give to them. I roasted 6 of these, and they all had semi-translucent grey or brown discoloration throughout the nutmeat. From what I've read, they may not be edible
