It's Damn Good!
The product itself is very nice. It is a perfect combination of Beautiful Artwork, Stunning Finishing, Great Quality and a Well-Written Story! It is a very complex game though, and it comes with a whopping 64-page Rulebook. This does make it a little bit difficult for first timers, though following the rules isn't important-having fun is! As long as you have friends willing to play for hours and some snacks ready, D&D is the best game available in the market!

User
great game i mean just amazing
This is an amazing set but if you have less imagination it would be difficult so I would recommend buying the starter kit first but you can go ahead with this. otherwise this is an amazing kit. you can give this as a gift to anybody who enjoys creative games or has a good imagination. you can still get it for yourself if you want to play because this will be fun for almost every single age

Worth the Money!
Includes everything that was mentioned! Best resource to start playing d&d, even the quality of dice is very good!

A great buy!
Delivery was prompt (3 days after ordering). I always wanted to get into DND and I finally have a campaign planned with my friends. I recommend this more in comparison to the starter set. You will get everything inside that will help you play, even if you're a beginner. I also highly recommend getting a few sets of polyhedral dice from elsewhere if you're planning on playing with a party of 3 people or more.

Awesome introduction to the world of D&D
Contains all the essentials to play and know the game. Perfection.

DnD is awesome

Good adventures, some learning curve
TL;DR: Great quests in the book, especially for beginners, easily adaptable to other adventures, but does require some pre-existing knowledge of D&D, and a commitment to spend time fleshing out what's given to you.A lot of this might be due to my own negligence, but I was hoping this adventure would be a little more out-of-the-box. This was my first interaction ever with D&D, and it was a little overwhelming. I had to do a lot more research and preparation for it than I intended (which I love, but wasn't clear to me beforehand) and is the only thing that threw me off.The stuff that comes in this set is great, with a good rulebook to learn the basic rules and start playing, the adventure book (which will need fine-tuning from the DM), and all the handouts you would use during the adventure (love!). A big selling point of this particular adventure for me was that it could be run with just one player, which is definitely doable, and this set helps with that. It's easily scalable for more players too, which makes it more fun.For any first-time adventurers, I recommend either having played a game or two of D&D before, or going over the free "Mines of Phandelver" adventure on the DND Beyond website to get a better feel on how to run a campaign, then explore this set. The free adventure is more out-of-the-box playable, and lets you get a better grasp on how D&D works. Both are set in the same location (Sword Coast, specifically around Phandalin) and in roughly the same time period, so one adventure can lead nicely into the next, and the free adventure will give some necessary practice before going ice dragon hunting. The adventures/quests themselves are very nice, and can be adapted to fit any playstyle, both as a story or as standalone outings, with the book giving good introductions to the world, and some basic information on how to run encounters at each location (but as noted a few times now, the DM will need to have some experience already, as a lot of it needs to be adapted for the specific playstyle of their own game). The way I used this set was to expand on the "Mines of Phandelver" adventure with my friends, to give a more structured feel towards adventuring (as the quests in Icespire are very much sandboxy) and I think this works really well.Overall, I do recommend this adventuring set, as the physical items are super cool and the adventures inside the box are really fun, just be wary that it's something you'll need to put some work into before being able to play.

Perfecto inicio autocontenido a D&D

ESSENTIALS KIT vs STARTER SET: Which is better? (no spoilers review)
ESSENTIALS KIT vs STARTER SETSHORT REVIEW: if you can only buy one set and are new to the game then buy the Starter Set. It explains the rules in a condensed version and easy to read manual--you will be up and running quicker than Essentials Kit. The rules and setup in the Essentials Kit has more steps and might get new players bogged down with too many details. After playing the Starter Set you wil have a feel for the flow and mechanics of the game and can then go deeper into the rules with the Essentials Kit.After playing the Starter Set and you want to move on, choose the Essentials Kit next before buying the hardcover Player's Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide which have way too much information for new players. The Essentials Kit will build on the Starter Set by introducing magic-using races/classes and character customization.LONG REVIEW AND COMPARISON: ESSENTIALS KIT vs STARTER SET:In the Essentials Kit you get a 64-page squarebound rulebook and 64-page Adventure book. The Starter Set has a 32-page staplebound rulebook and 64-page staplebound Adventure book. I'm not going to talk about the Adventure books to avoid spoilers. But both are recommended and both should be played. The Rulebook differences are significant: in this case shorter (Starter Set) is better. The Essentials Kit has 6 blank character sheets. Players will use the Rulebook to help create their own custom character. The Starter Set has 5 pre-made characters which is NOT bad and for first time players it might be better to start this way. It forces you to play different races and classes of characters, it shows you what type of background story you might want create for future characters, it gives you an idea of how a character sheet is put together and where everything goes, and most importantly it gets you up and running quickly so you can learn how the game plays out. On your second adventure you can take the extra time to create your own character knowing what you liked or didn't like based on your first character. You can easily download and print blank character sheets online. I personally think the Starter Set's idea to use pre-generated characters is best for first time play.DICE: There are 11 dice total in the Essentials Kit but there are duplicates; there are only 7 different types. The Essentials includes a percentage die not in the Starter Set which has 6 different dice total. You only need the 6 types of die so both sets are equal to me.For the Starter Set that's all you get: Rulebook, Adventure book, pre-filled character sheets and dice. It's priced less than the Essentials Kit here on Amazon.Additional material in the Essentials Kit includes extra cards that come 9 to a sheet and you need will need to separate them. None of these are necessary to play. You could write down the information on the cards on paper, but the cards are a nice convenience and can help move the game along. The different cards are:9 Initiative cards: these are just cards with a number on them, #1-9.3 Combat cards: these are cheat sheets of combat rules.24 Magic Item cards.9 Quest cards: a description of a mini-quest players might take during the bigger Adventure Book.9 Sidekick cards: your extra character when running a 2-player game.14 Condition cards: when characters suffer from a certain condition this card reminds them of the symptoms.1 Magic Charm card. Some of the cards are helpful to have and the Starter Set could be improved to include them as well.Other items in the Essentials Kit: a thin paper Dungeon Master's folding screen. It has a picture on one side and rules/tables on the other. This is very helpful for the Dungeon Master only--it has no use for players. A color map of the world. Maps are fun! And a thin cardboard box to store your dice (not fun). Both the Essentials Kit and Starter Set are good steps towards introducing new players to the game. I think they are both useful. Starter Set should be first. And the Essentials Kit should come second. After that you can play a few more adventures with the information you currently have. Or if you want to dive into the hardcover books then that's the next step.I highly recommend the Starter Set and Essentials Kit. Both are worthwhile purchases. I suggest the Starter Set first then Essentials Kit.
