Hello, Before you make your first use, drizzle that board with oil and rub it in with a soft, dry cloth. The oil moisturizes the wood, helps to avoid splitting, and gives the bamboo that lovely burnished look. Repeat this every day for about a week, then condition your boards once a month thereafter. Thanks

Can this be put through a dishwasher?

I mean, it's bamboo, so it's probably not a good idea. It cleans up really easily. Just make sure you let it dry really well before you put it away.
