Jennie Grant has always wished to be a healer, but when her clan becomes involved in the violence that has broken out across the Highlands, it shakes her belief in herself. She no longer knows if she can work in a trade where life and death exist in such a fine balance. Desperate to clear her head and spend some time away from the wounded men who crowd the sickroom in the Grant keep, she travels to Lochluin Abbey for sanctuary. But even there, she cannot escape her calling. The abbey sits on the land of the Cameron clan, and when the new chieftain is injured in battle, Jennie is the only person capable of saving him. Though Aedan Cameron would sooner spend his life as a scholar, reading and watching the stars, than assume a leadership role in his clan, his fatherโs untimely death forces his hand. To make matters worse, he is immediately called upon to ride into battle to protect his land and his people. But everything changes for Aedan when a beautiful girl with a mind as curious as his own heals him. Suddenly he realizes he is capable of becoming the leader his father wanted him to be while still pursuing the stars. Another Grant finds their HEA!!
Another winner in the Grant Clan series. I have read all the books in the series, my favorite being Alex and Maddie's story. We get to see Alex play the overprotective big brother in this one. Not only him but Loki is growing up fast and plays a big part as well in the book. If I had to guess I would say we will be reading his story soon. Jennie Grant is a strong healer but she is plagued with vivid nightmares that she believes are brought on by her talent. Alex agrees after seeking advice that sending his sister to the Abbey could help heal her broken spirit. Bring on the Cameron. Aedan Cameron has recently become laird upon the death of his father. He is determined to make his clan proud and strong and there is no doubt once he meets Jennie Grant that she should be by his side while he does so. It is a very romantic story and takes on a different approach from her other books in the series. KM, IMO, always has an abused h and it is her healing within with the help from her partner. This book has healing in it but with Alex Grant as a big brother Jennie was never physically or mentally abused. The star gazing scene was my favorite part. What a romantic scene it portrays laying under the celestial heavens next to a handsome highlander. There is also one part of the book that gripped me tightly, it is when the Cameron has fallen and the pain Jennie endures at the sight of her husbands unmoving figure while Alex tries to sooth her. They will not allow her to hold her husband one last time and it is such a heart wrenching scene. Does this mean that there is no HEA, of course not. Have no fear there is definitely a happy ending that does not disappoint and the journey to get there is enjoyable. The villain in this book while psycho is not as evil as past ones and the violence and torture is practically non existent. Enjoy!

Great minds.
Aedan is the new young laird of clan Cameron. Jennie is a healer and the youngest sibling of the Clan Grant family. She has nightmares and is overwhelmed with the constant injuries she deals with in her role. Her brother Alex agrees to take her to the abbey for respite and mental healing for a time. The abbey is located on clan Cameron land. Aedan is injured in a battle and Jennie is called upon to bring him back from deaths door which she does. They begin to realize how much they have in common and the attraction grows. However, hidden forces are in place trying to take over the Cameron lands and kill Aedan. This is a great story with many facets and familiar characters. Well done.

Shot by "Cupid's" arrow!
Jennie and Aedan meet again, when Jennie, in an attempt to get away from all the noises of the injured and dying in her brother's keep, plague her even in her sleep. As the clan's healer, Jennie has been drawn to spend night and day with the soldiers, tending to their wounds and avoiding sleeping, when the moans and screams haunt her dreams. When her brother delivers her to the Grant clan, she arrives just in time to care for the laird. Though he's been severely wounded in battle, caring for him brings no nightmares or uneasiness while caring for him. She still remembers him from her childhood; wonder if he'll remember the young girl, as well?! A pleasure to read. So well written you'll feel a kinship with the brave Scotsmen and women who brave the unknown men attacking their homes.

I loved this book! Would have given it 6 stars if I could!
Jennifer's and Aedan's story is magical. It is about two dreamers whose responsibilities are so burdensome that they stop believing in themselves. Aedan dreams of the stars but is forced into becoming chieftain of his clan. Jennie is a healer whose horrible nightmares make her question her calling. By finding each other they find the strength to become who they are destined to be. This book is a wonderful addition to the series, just as wonderful as the previous installations. I loved Jennie, she was such a strong female lead. I also loved revisiting the Grant Clan. This series is a must read!

Beautifully Written
I always enjoy reading stories written by Keira Montclair and this one was no different. Keira delivers a beautiful love story in โThe Brightest Star In The Highlandsโ. Jennie is a an intelligent young woman, a sought after healer and she works tirelessly to heal those sick and injured. She is plagued by nightmares and feels itโs because of the strain of seeing so much suffering. In an effort to heal herself she goes to the Abbey to find peace in perspective. Aedan Cameron, a good and honorable man didnโt want to be Laird just yet but upon the death of his father he took up the mantle determined to make his clan proud and strong though he would have preferred to study the stars. He is injured defending his lands and his mother goes to Jennie to plead for her to heal him. Aedan and Jennie share a wondrous connection and thirst for knowledge, clearly to people who belong together. This is such a beautiful love story and Keira has written us so wonderfully. I loved it and couldnโt stop reading until the last page. Thank you so much Keira for such a fantastic story of a love that must have been written in the stars.
