very good! This should have been the first car alarm I bought! The remote is loud enough and the range is good enough or me to be alerted at the back of a full size supermarket when my car is 200 meters (yards) in front of the store which is not small! My viper remote can not be heard except in a library, my avital had low range and did not last! My main requirement was to be alerted when someone impacted or reached inside my convertible! I added a directed field disturbance sensor! There is a good, detailed but complex, installation pdf if you search the web hard enough. I had no interest in remote start or locking. This should be the first one you buy! There is an addon device that can alert your cell phone for greater range!

So far I love it! Keep in mind that you will need a bypass with this that is sold separately! I purchase this one "Idatalink Compustar BLADE-AL Web-programmable data immobilizer bypass and doorlock integration cartridge" & it worked like a charm. Basically the bypass is what takes the imaginary place of the key to turn the car on (that is it! You can drive it though even if the car is on unless you put key in ignition). It took a professional installer about 2 hours to do this. FYI: The ALARM that comes with this goes BERSERK when activated!! It sounds like 10 different sounds blasting at the same time! I hated it but lucky was there when the installer turned it on & I asked him if there was a way to do something to stop it? He actually cut one of the alarm lines & it made the alarm much simpler & if you hate car alarms going off at night, you might want to avoid it by doing the same thing. Now it sounds perfect (not to wild and not too low)! The best thing I like about this device is the remote control! It feels & looks attractive. Not like the cheap looking ones I have seen. It is has a LED screen that some put thought into & even lights up! The only thing I probably will not like in the future is changing the two triple A battery's but that's not a big deal. I haven't checked the range but was able to use it this morning from my house & the car was half way up the block. It comes with two remotes (one is better than the other...two way vs one way) & one is cheaper looking. All in all as they say, "Let it snow, let it snow....LET IT SNOW!
