Washed Duck Bartlett Jacket

This is an excellent coat. Highly recommended. Fit: I’m 6’1”, 220lbs, broad across the chest and shoulders and the regular XL fits great. I saw some concerns about the length but I think it’s probably a personal preference thing. The front hits me a couple inches below the waist and the back is a bit longer. Warmth: I wore this jacket with just a t-shirt in the upper 30’s with heavy wind and felt fine. It blocks the wind very well and it was warm without being hot. Quality: This coat is well made and it looks great. The front hand pockets are a little awkward (they are lined thankfully) but nothing close to a dealbreaker. My other Carhartt jacket is 30 years old and going strong. I’ll let you know if this one makes it that long. Overall I’m very happy.

It’s a great coat, thick heavy cotton outside with Sherpa inside. It’s expensive, warm, and it is going to last a long time. Good buttons good zipper. Bought one for my and my buddy.

I am a female who hates womens' clothing - flimsy, pinchy, no pockets, inconsistent sizing - and since I'm not blessed with curves, mens' clothing fits me better, anyway. I wear 32/32 mens' pants, and ordered the XL, because I didn't want it to be tight over a sweater/hoodie. In retrospect, the Large would have been better, but I love it and could potentially gain a bunch of weight, so I'm keeping it. I haven't owned a winter coat since 2014, when I moved away from Ohio. However, I lost some of my "natural insulation," so my hoodie doesn't cut it anymore, even living in Georgia. This coat is HEAVY. It will probably pull the command-strip coathook down, but it is WARM. The lining in the arms is gathered around the wrists, and the hood is shaped so that it keeps my ears warm even when the coat isn't buttoned or zipped all the way. The side pockets are weirdly small. They keep my hands warm, but I wouldn't keep my keys in there, because the pockets are shallow enough that they could fall out. Fortunately, it has PLENTY of other pockets that zip or snap, so reserving the side pockets for cold hands is OK. It's not something I'd wear to the opera, but I don't go to the opera, so that is fine with me. Personally, I like how it looks on me, even if it is a little bit oversized. I don't think I'll have to buy another winter coat for a long, long time, and that is delightful.

This is a high quality coat. The fabric is extremely durable and actually pretty warm for what it is. Its really heavy. No light-weight cheap coat here! Also, what I found cool and have never seen before, is the the adjustable plastic things that tighten and loosen the hood and waist, for the hood, they are hidden inside it. You can feel it in the hood when adjusting. Smart. This coat would have recieved 5 stars if the wool insulation went into the sleeves as well. It's only in the hood and torso area. That and the zipper doesn't seem like it'll last long. When it fails, it can be buttoned up at least. Would I buy again in the future and recommend? Hell yes!

Love this jacket. Excellent fit, superb styling and has already kept me toasty warm in sub-freezing temps. This was my first major Carhartt purchase (I've bought shirts and caps before) and worth every penny. My only complaint is the location and design of the inside left breast pocket which I use for my wallet. It sits slightly lower than all my other jacket pockets and the zipper can be tricky to open and close. Frankly, I don't think it needs a zipper.
