Great Machine
We have a superchamp teen who needs a workout besides going to academy. This little machine is compact, relatively light weight and fits in my wife's Mazda RX-8. We had some problem with the charger but the support guys at Lobster were great and sent us new chargers. The number of different programed settings makes this little machine a challenge to work with and keeps our teen sharp, in shape and makes him work for the ball. This type of additional training is a must have for those aspiring pros. The various configurations and price this machine comes in makes it affordable for most. After researching these machines on Amazon and Tennis Warehouse/Tennis Express I chose the lobster and I am not disappointed. Ended up buying it on Amazon with free shipping and everything went very smooth. Buy this machine and buy it from Amazon.

Faulty
The machine calibration stopped working after few months. It is important to note that we did not use machine frequently. As of now we have used the machine for 25 times and now cannot use it because of calibration issues. Not satisfied at all unless someone from Amazon or manufacturer helps. Amazon should not sell substandard products.

Found the machine to be unusable
I would give the machine zero stars if I could. If the company offered to give me this machine for free and to pay for shipping I wouldn't want it, nor would I be willing to sell it to someone else. I've owned ball machines for about 15 years and since I have a lot of free time, I use the machines 3-4 times a week. I have loved the Lobster Elite 1 model for the past 8 years and have been wanting to upgrade to a programmable model for a number of years. I was hoping that someone would create my ideal ball machine, and that Lobster would be the company to do it, but I got tired of waiting so when I found their best ball machine on sale a few days before my birthday I decided that I had to buy it at the deal price of $1800 because I knew that I would never buy it the full $2500 price. I really, really wanted to like the machine because I got such a good deal on it, so I spent two days trying to talk myself into keeping the machine. The biggest issue is that I bought the machine because I wanted to take my game to the next level by using the fancy pre-programmed drills. I found that the first drill worked, but the balls bounced too high. Switching to other drills they either slammed the balls into the bottom of the net or shot the balls out so hard and fast that Roger Federer wouldn't be able to use the drill. I called about the problem and the company acted like they had not heard of the problem and explained how I could use the calibration process to adjust the drills. I really didn't like the fact that I would have to re-calibration the machine before using each drill, but I gave it a try and still found that I couldn't get the machine to give me drills that were useable (realistic), the balls either came out too fast or bounced too high. I decided that even if I couldn't use the pre-programmed drills I would just program my own drills. I found that it didn't repeat the drills that I programmed correctly. I created a drill to all four corners and it would start out with two short and two long only to decide to sometimes turn the two long into four long shots before going back to the two short shots. Also I wasn't impressed with the machine's ability to hit the locations that I wanted it to hit. As a last resort I wanted to see if the machine could just give me some basic hitting practice with placing the ball in one direction with a simple arc. That's where I really discovered the limitations of the machine. At the lowest speed the ball would hit the bottom of the net and at the next speed setting which was 5 miles an hour faster the balls would land past the baseline. I was able to change the height setting to keep the balls in, but at the expense of having balls that bounced too high. By going digital with this programmable machine they took away the great control that their basic analog machines gives you. If they changed their software to allow speed changes of 1 mile an hour that might make the machine usable, but the way it currently works is crazy. I tried to call the president of the company to ask him why he was selling an unusable product but he doesn't take phone calls from customers. Warning: You really don't want to buy a product with a large battery from Amazon, they are willing to sell you such products, but they don't allow you to return them. You can't return it to Lobster either if you don't buy it directly from them.

OK but over bought features don't work.
Can't get distance to work right, Right and left are good, ordered iPhone remote and installed it is not working, co sending a replacement, regular remote working fine. It's nice for a ball machine probably the best one out there. But I have had it 3 months the co can not get me a working remote. I can't get distance consistence so I just have it through all the balls to the line as soon as I move it, it shoots 20% of them out of the court or into the net. I am using penn pressure less balls and all the same brand all new so the balls are consistent so that is not the issue. Once the batt goes lower in about 45 min I have to readjust the height, they start hitting the net. I feel since there are so many issues and I can't get the drills working I should of gone with a more basic lobster and saved a bunch of cash. The machine is nice and portable and does work. Last but not lest the batt last 4 hr more than enough. But you have to take the thing apart to get to it, would of been nice if it dropped in or has a compartment with a connector so you can just carry an extra and when it goes dead swap it, and I don't have to drag the whole machine in to charge the batt. Also winter I could remove the batt so it wont freeze and leave it in the truck, instead of having to drag the whole thing through the snow.

The best teaching tool.
My son is starting to move up in his school tennis program and I am not good enough or consistant enough to get the balls to him and the Lobster has solved this problem, with a remote control in one hand and a coke in the other I can sit on the side lines and run him all over the court with spin balls, long balls, short balls, left court right court.. Its just the best trainer for tennis.

Amazing Support and Machine!
My machine came with some problems. The support since the beginning was great and very helpful. Lobster president himself contacted me to have everything fixed and to guide me, since the machine is with me in Brazil. The solution: lobster president himself, contacted the brazilian distributor, and he got the machine and fixed it to me, with no extra costs. The machine arrived 1 month ago and is working perfectly! Its amazing! Its the best partner for someone who loves tennis: intense and consistent. Happy for the solution and even more happy with the machine.

Inconsistent throws
I’ve had this machine for two weeks and really enjoy it. Played 8 times already and each time for about 1 hour. The battery only consumes about 10% for that hour usage ( includes ball pickup time) so it is really worry-free in terms of running of of powerful which simply won’t happen. The drills that I like most is the “2 line” with medium or wide range. I yet to figure out other drills and how to add more top spin I bought the remote option which really brings convenience. It would be even better if it has a longer range of transmission though. Overall it is a good purchase. Did I mention this machine is truly portable but also produces the speed like from a pro - up to 70/80 mph.

control circut board not working properly
I opened the box after 3 months from purchasing it . I found out the remote control and built in control board not working. I tried to contact the main dealer but not yet responded (4+ days). One more observation is the way wire arrange internally is total miss up vs the cost of the machine. iam an engineer and can judge if thing is cheep or not. For such a cost we expect quality
