Rapala Jointed Minnow Lure – Bass Pike and Walleye Fishing Lure, Jointed Hard Bait, Wide Swimming Action

You can't go wrong with anything Rapala they have the best action. The jointed minnow is one of my favorites to use. It swims at about under a foot deep the key to this lure is to stop and retrieve, bass can't deny this lure neither should you.

I purchased this lure at a sporting goods store and went fishing in my kayak. I caught 3 nice sized bass within an hour of fishing with it. Then I hooked the biggest bass I have ever had on my line with no net, with old line on my pole and in a kayak - what do you think happened? Yep - Bye Bye big fishie and bye bye new lure! I was so disappointed and my fiance thought it was funny. I searched on here and found my new favorite lure here for a better price than my previous purchase at the sporting good store. I love the action of this lure. It stays in the top 3' of water. I got quite a bit of bite action by letting it sit on top of the water for a moment before reeling. Our lake has a lot of algae that grows along the bottom so I really appreciate a lure that will swimming under the water without diving so deep it drags all that algae around with it. The color mimics a minnow very well. The jointed designed gives it a unique swim that I think really catches the fish's attention. In clearer water, it's fun to watch the fish follow the lure before they strike. As I mentioned I was so happy with it that I bought a second one when I lost the first to a fish. I told my fiance I was going to catch that fish again and get my first lure back out of it's lip. So far I have had no luck with that endeavor, but I refuse to give up. LoL! I have caught many fish on this lure and plan to catch many more! (I keep a net in my kayak now for the bigger ones. ) This does have treble hooks small enough to catch larger brim and hook large mouth bass. Brim put up a fun fight, so I like to fish with this size hook where I can catch both species. This is definitely a top lure in my tackle box.

Just used this lure on the Green river in Utah. Only fished 2 hours, but caught 9 beautiful trout of 6 different brands, including the elusive Yosemite Cutthroat. Been using Rapala for over 50 years, has always been the go-to lure for big fish.

Do not be fooled, the size "05" looks as though it would be 5 inches, but it is most definitely not. It's about as long as the lower half of my thumb. I was hoping to find a bass magnet like my last one gifted to me, this was definitely not. I'm sure it's great for panfish but it's not what I'm looking for, a bit deceptive too having the sizes go from 2 inches to 6 inches and conveniently making size "05" actually 2 inches. Luckily I found the actually 8" lure I was looking for.

Took it for a test run and this little lure performed. 3 fish landed ... 2 bass and a crappie. Missed a lunker because I saw the swirl and flash and tried to set the hook to early. This can be fished top water, jigged or varied deapth. The water conditions were horrible, windy lots of churn and super murky. So I expected to catch nothing. But it was 80 degrees and I had a bunch of new lures to try out. This was the only one I even had a hit on. So yeah I'll be using this a lot and if Rapala is smart they should start cranking these bad boys out. Best new lure in a long time.

My "go-to" lure for largemouth bass here in South Carolina in the spring. Several colors are great, but this is my favorite I think.

A steady retrieve usually works best unless you're using this as a topwater lure. As a topwater lure you can make it act like a dying minnow. Have caught some of my largest fish using jointed Rapalas. This is really a specialty lure where you want to work in shallow water with lots of snags about a foot deep. In many cases that is right where the fish are. Just match the Rapala size to the fish your trying to catch. I have 5 sizes. This one is just the right size for bluegill and other small panfish.
