TEKTON Everybit Precision Tool Kit with Case (27-Piece) | 2830

Just used this tool kit to replace the keyboard in my Macbook Pro laptop, and it was perfect. The entire kit is tiny and weighs nothing. As advertised it has every single bit you could ever need to work on any electronic. I do highly recommend putting small 1/4 inch diameter super magnets inside the hollow screwdriver to make the screwdriver magnetic as others have mentioned, which helps a lot if you're doing a projects involved pulling out hundreds of microscopic screws from a machine. The only pain is if you're working on a machine that has a lot of screws of different types, you continually have to change the bits, but it's a very, very, minor nuisance, and the tool is extremely useful and seems like it's made of good quality. I bought this for one project, but at the price, it's a kit that's great to have for life and I'm sure will come in handy again...can't beat the value, highly recommended. UPDATE: Have owned for a few years now, and this thing is f*****g awesome, have gotten so much use out of it and it is great to have around. Very pleased and if I ever lose it I will buy another immediately. UPDATE: 8 years since purchase, worth every penny and more.

I bought these as I needed to open up a MacBook Pro, and they have the correct star shaped driver I needed. You should know this is the 3rd driver I have bought for Apple products, but if they have poor quality the driver gets easily stripped and stops working. Apple uses mild loc-tite on their screws and that seems to be enough to strip most cheap drivers from China. However, these appear to be much better. I have done my work on the MacBook and there is no sign of stripping. It also has many other bits for things I have laying around, and I will get a lot of use out of them. The case is nice, plastic but solid feeling. It is nice and compact, not taking up much room, and easy to get bits in and out. My previous set held the bits so hard I couldn't get one out at a time, which is not a problem here. When you put the bit in the handle the quality is really good, feels solid, not flimsy and cheap like the other sets I have had. The bits are strong and well made, and readily took apart my Apple items, no stripping on the bit or the screw, it fit in perfect and snug. There's not much else I can say about a screw driver set. The optional pieces are really nice, but I haven't needed them yet. I really like the look and feel, and the case. It's all around a great deal, I think it has the bits for all the Apple products I own in a single, small and tidy case.

I was a bit concerned after reading reviews about stripped screws, but I decided to give this kit a shot. It was not a matter of cost so much as a matter of preventing damage to the MacBook that needed a new SSD drive. The kit turned out to be excellent. Very nice and precise bits made of some sort of alloy (chrome vanadium?) that has held up with no sign of wear after a few uses. I suspect that people that have stripping issues are using the wrong bits or not properly holding the bit in while turning the screws. Many of the kits out there really are cheap and poorly made, but not this one. This is the one to get. Just remember that even the best tools can be damaged by user error. UPDATE: One of the torx bits stripped and twisted so I decided to try the lifetime guarantee. The form on the website asks to describe the issue and submit a picture. Within ONE HOUR I received tracking info for a replacement bit to be sent free of charge. That is phenomenal and will make me buy Tekton tools again. Fast and no hassle service. Much appreciated.

A great compact and quality screwdriver set with most if not all the bits needed for hobbiest and the like. The metal bits are well made and the screwdriver with its high quality plastic body is lightweight and very comfortable to hold. The only downside is perhaps the prying tool which seems a little flexible, making it opening laptop cases a bit more challenging.

Purchased this to use for removing set screws on bathroom wall attached pieces worked so much easier than using included tools especially for those with small flat head screw driver heads. Also nice for tightening glasses up.

Perfect little set. Very compact but very manageable size to work with. I do a lot of computer builds, and device repair and this set is great. Well built, all the bits I need with a soft pry tool included. The stash spot in the handle is perfect for actually doing jobs and not wanting to go in and out of the whole kit. Tips are strong and don't seem like they will strip or damage anytime soon(they actually tore up the screws on a cheap accessory). I would not recommend this set though for a general purpose or mechanical application. The screw tips are very small, as well as the handle. This is strictly an electronic and small appliance set. Only con I have is the set is not magnetic, but you can easily fix that by just putting a small button magnet on the shaft.

Spilled green tea latte on my Macbook Air. Let the computer dry then used this to open up the back and cleaned everything with isopropyl alcohol and baby wipes. Apple is infamous for making their products hard for users to repair, but this set has pentalobe screwdrivers and different sizes of hexagon star shaped screwdrivers, which was everything I needed to take apart my Macbook. The screwdriver is easy to hold, the bits fit perfectly into the screws, everything was a breeze. After cleaning it, I plugged in the charger and found out that the whole computer worked except the battery so I purchased a new battery and used these screwdrivers to install it. Now my computer's like new! Thanks! This set is especially great because it comes in a little carry-case small enough to fit in your palm and has the bits needed to take apart all sorts of electronics (I believe this has the bits required to take apart my brother's windows computer too). I really like the case because taking apart electronics can be a messy process and having everything in a case can help keep things organized which is very important. The little plastic spudger was useful for lifting the battery and other sensitive electronic components out without damaging it though I feel that it's a bit cheap and may bend easily.

This toolkit is extremely useful and well made. I purchased it so I could replace the failing hard drive on my Mac mini myself. I had seen fixit sites that showed me how to do it and they recommended certain tools that I did not have. The recommended each individual tool for $5-10 USD to perform the repair. I purchased this entire set for much less than it would have cost to buy the three individual tools for the job. The plus side as well is that any future repairs I am prepared for because this set includes many more tools that will probably work for my phone or tablets as well. The tools themselves are not cheaply manufactured, but are rather of high quality materials. I am very pleased I found this toolkit and would recommend it to anyone in a similar boat of wanting to perform a DIY repair such as this. Much less expensive than both individual tools and paying a repair shop to fix it for you.

He mirado mucho por internet y este juego de TEKTON ha sido el único que me ha servido a la perfección. También vale para iphone SE, 6, 6S... y me atrevería a decir que para la mayoría de los productos de apple que se empeñan en ponernos las cosas difíciles para quién quiera hacer pequeños cambios. Sinceramente recomendaría este juego de puntas ya por calidad como por precio, además porque también viene con una palanca de plástico para no estropear las partes sensibles.

I had some repairs to do on my Galaxy S3 so I scoured online stores for a kit that would give me what I needed at a reasonable price. After coming across the TEKTON 2830 kit and reading the highly favourable reviews I made the purchase. When I sat down to do the repairs I was very impressed with kit as a whole. For me, the pros and cons are: Pros: - the variety of included bits was excellent; - the spudger was a very welcome inclusion; - the rotating head on the screwdriver made it incredibly easy to maintain constant and uniform pressure on the small screws of the phone making it easy to avoid stripping or damage; - the seemingly good quality of the bits; and, - the price Cons: - the plastic used in some places (ie: the case lid, inner tray, and spudger) seems fairly low grade and may not withstand much use or applied force I tried to come up with more cons but I really couldn't think of any, especially at this price point. All-in-all I'm quite happy I decided on this precision bit and driver kit and would happily recommend it to the casual tinkerer or DIY repair person.
