Glad ForceFlex OdorShield Tall Kitchen Drawstring Trash Bags

My husband is the grocery shopper in our family, and he does a great job on groceries. Unfortunately, he often forgets to buy things like paper towels, toilet paper, paper plates and garbage bags. I would sometimes stop at the local convenience store on my way home from work to pick these up. But this uses my time, plus they are expensive. I have found the answer through Amazon’s auto delivery – all these items come right to my door and are a great price! Plus I get 15% off because I order more than five things. These plastic bags for garbage are fantastic! They are thick and hold all of my kitchen garbage. I have not had them split on me…..ever. And I fill the bag up -- the whole 13 gallons. The other nice thing is that they have a pleasant smell to them, so it helps control odor. (Particularly in the kitchen where I tend to use these most often). I also use these bags for a large trash can in my bedroom and for one in the office. I plan to keep on ordering these through auto delivery.

These things are nuts. They do tear, though. But it takes a lot to get them to. My husband, of course, now tries to stuff the equivalent of several truck loads of garbage in to a single bag. It works well for this application and can hold well over what a normal plastic bag does. But all things have weak spots and this bag is no different. The top section of the bag near the draw string isn't quite as tough as the rest of the bag. But even with all our heavy loading, it still won't tear to the point of the bag being unusable. It is normally only small holes. The biggest was the size of a baseball. We order these in bulk every few months. They normally last us between orders, so we rarely ever buy any other bags. They also smell good when you get a new one. The febreeze is really refreshing, considering the job at hand. I'd highly recommend these! They do save money, because you're going to use less of them in the long run.

While these bags are on the pricy side, they are fabulous for efficiency apartments because they give the entire room a pleasant, fresh scent. It won't make 3-month old chicken-fried rice smell any better (been there, done that), but it does cover up most of your day to day smells that you put in the can. Also, the bags really do stretch. They sometimes tear if you have sticks and stuff in them, but they hold up much better than any other garbage bags except the type the lawn people use to put leafs and trash in when they do our motel lot and the housing units next door. Those are thick and huge and inappropriate for use inside a home. My one big idea for Glad . . . to create giant versions of these to line the inside of dumpsters. The dumpsters in our motel, like most dumpsters, just stink because people (I'm omitting names) just toss open paper bags of food and stuff in them. Many people also pop open the top of the dumpsters, exposing everything to rain and then the heat of the sun. None of that would be a problem if the dumpster radiated a fresh scent. You are welcome Glad. I waive my patent rights if you want to run with this idea.

These are the best kitchen trash bags I've come across yet. They are extremely durable and have held up to heavy loads and "pokey" items I've had to throw out without any instance of puncture yet. The drawstrings are likewise sturdy, with only one instance of the string breaking since I've been using these, and that was when the bag got stuck in my trash can due to over filling and I pulled too hard. I use these bags for cat litter disposal (which is basically like throwing out a bag of rocks), and they have stood up to immense weight. The Febreeze scent is great at fighting odor from the smellier trash items, especially old food packaging, however a full trash can can still start to smell. I chalk that up to the fact that the trash can lid doesn't have any odor protection. Bags, once sealed, do a great job of eliminating any odor from both food and spent cat litter.

... if they had the 68 bag Mega Pack in stock. I live in a small efficiency apartment and my 13 gallon tall kitchen waste basket is my primary trash can. Being a primary trash can, it sees all type of waste from foods waste to broken glass.Glad ForceFlex with Odor Shield is just what I need.I have been using these bags for quite a few years along with a white plastic tall kitchen rubbish bin when I moved into my apartment. The inside of that trash can is just as white as the day I bought it. Glad ForceFlex has just enough give to stop most holes from forming, but don't expect the impossible from it. If it is sharp enough, it will slice right through the bag. Although 68 trash bags may seem a bit much, they will last me at least three months. The Clean Fresh scent is very strong when you open the box, but the scent will weaken with time. The only bad thing about these bags are not something Glad could predict. I had the box of these bags on top of my cabinets for easy storage. One day the apartment above mine had a leak and dripped right on to my bags. I heard a dripping noise and decided to investigate. I discovered a leak from the ceiling and it was dripping right into the box. Imagine my surprise when a quick grab for the box caused me to sling about half a gallon of water across one side of my apartment. These bags will hold a surprising amount of water even though they have not been unrolled. Think of that when you are choosing a place to store them

Love these bags and they work way better than the generic store brand. When you first pull the bag out it looks much smaller than a typical 13 Gallon trash bag. Fear not, it stretches and can fit much more than 13 gallons. I also like the tighter fit around the edge of our trash can - it keeps the bag from falling in the trash can when you put heavy loads in there. The scented version isn't too overwhelming and does a good job (as expected) of masking everyday odors. The scented version isn't going to mask any type of extreme rotting/stinky foods (ie rotting meats and veggies) so you should probably just go ahead and take those straight out. That said, we do use it in a diaper genie to avoid having to buy the more expensive Diaper Genie refills and it does a pretty decent job of masking those odors. On occasion, because the product stretches quite a bit and allows you to put a lot in it, it can sometimes be a slight challenge to pull it out of the trash can due to how big it's become. Not a big deal, you just have to hold the trashcan down while you pull the trash bag out. I've very rarely had issues with it tearing - if it does it's usually because I have a something sharp in there.

Good price on a great product. I've been using these for 2 or 3 years now and won't use anything else. PROS: -Hold the 13-gallon can tightly and never fall inside. -Very strong and abrasion resistant. -I have never ripped or torn one, or felt the need to double-bag anything. -They have never leaked on me. -They hold up to being filled with empty 12 oz longnecks during a post-party cleanup. -They smell nice but not in an overpowering way. CONS: -Sometimes I accidentally buy other bags and am sorely disappointed. -I am spoiled for trash bags to the point that lesser bags infuriate me. -The trash will not take itself out, even with this bag, the Cadillac of trash bags.

Is there really any question as to how amazing these are? If you have been living in the world of cheap garbage bags your entire life, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for the overflowing trash bags in your life. I'm sorry for the bags that have sunk down into the garbage can and left you with a mess inside your garbage bin. I'm sorry for the ripped and busted bags that have left a Hansel and Gretel trail for all the ants to find their way into your home. Save yourself!! Buy these bags!! They are like the spanx of garbage bags. They cling to every curve of your trash can and every nuance of your actual trash. No more spilled trash all over your house and yard. Save the headache and invest in GLAD. PS As my girls found out, you can make amazing halter top dresses with these bags!

Incredibly durable, the most durable bags I've ever used. They're kind of stretchy to accommodate all sorts of waste. I dont like the smell though...it's especially disgusting when it mixes with garbage smell. I removed a star for the scent, I prefer something unscented (or perhaps a different scent?). I like the ties that are built in to the bags for ease of closure. J would buy these again, especially if on sale.
