Definitely buy if you're serious about insulation
This product is very well made and definitely high-quality. There is a kind of a string material laid into the aluminum backing which prevents it from overstretching and tearing. I found this to be very useful when installing considering I was walking on it and kneeling with my knees I never had an issue of tearing the glue is very strong so make sure you know where you're putting it because you won't be able to lift it up without destroying the foam. I use this to insulate a transmission tunnel and the entire floor of my vehicle there is absolutely zero heat radiating from my carpet now .The paper backing was hard to take off initially but I took the roll into my driveway and rolled it out completely paper side facing up in the Sun and 20 minutes later the glue was soft enough to easily peel the entire paperback off. So if you have issues peeling the paper just roll it flat and make sure you pull carefully because the the paper easily tears.

Fast, easy, working great so far.
Was easy to install (remove hood first), stuck great, been a month and all is great. One plus, I like the foil, rats destroyed my original -- rats don't like foil. Price was real nice too.

Good stuff with some minor issues
Nice thick foam that is super sticky. I used this for sound insulation on the hvac ducts in my basement. You'd better put it down in the right spot the first time, because it's not coming back up without tearing the foam. I would have given this 5 stars except for 2 things: 1) The backing is harder to remove than it should be. It doesn't always come off in one piece. 2) The backing could use some 1" grid lines to make measuring and cutting easier.

Good for heat and noise
I have used similar to this before for a number of heat shielding and noise reduction applications. Mostly on RV's on wheel wells, under the hood, on the "doghouse" of a van. If you are "hanging" it you might need to use some spray adhesive, like 3M. This time I have a Jeep Gran Cherokee with a the double sunroof, that is getting hot and making the ceiling hot even with everything closed up tight. It's just too hot this year for using the sunroof even in New England. Cut it and slid it into the gap of the sunroof cover. Didn't glue it, so it can be removed for winter, when I like the sun coming in. Really cut the heat!! Good stuff!

Cut to fit!!
Birds and mice ate up the heat shield on our Explorer. Not sure what the attraction was, anyway, this product worked great. I cut it to fit, using the old one to make a template and mark where the plastic push-pins were located. I only peeled 2" around the edge of this shield. My wiper fluid tubes are directly under the shield. I can remove a little easier without the whole thing stuck to the hood. I put silver tape around all the edges for added protection. No animals interested in this stuff. Highly recommend! Cheaper then a factory replacement and you know you can cut it fit, no returns for getting the wrong product, universal fit.

sticks well
Make sure that you have this where you want it before sticking it down. It sticks well, but if you need to pull it off to reposition it, it will rip and leave part of the mat. It does stick very well, so hopefully I will never have to remove it, otherwise it will be a big mess. I haven't run the engine yet to see if the noise level is reduced, but hopefully it will lower it.

(UPDATED) Pleasantly surprised
Update 12/1/2020: This stuff Is still adhering to the old fiberglass on the boat! Also, since I had a little bit left over, I lined the motor compartment of the riding mower (using caution to avoid direct motor Contact of course)...a seriously pleasant reduction in motor noise. What else can I stick this stuff to? 🤔 I was skeptical about this products' performance, but have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. Used on an inboard boat to quiet down motor noise from the 5.0L Mercruiser. I wiped down the compartment with a dry rag, dry fit the sound barrier, cut it with a sharp box cutter blade, removed the paper backing, and stuck the barrier down. Immediate relief! This is about 1" thick...just be sure you're not touching any hot parts directly and it should be fine. I have about 2x the quantity that I need...so have extra to cut and place in various locations to make it even quieter. Good product.

The preparation
If you try to replace your car hood liner with this, plan it out. It can turn out well. I did it myself, and, rushed it a bit I think. The product is very sticky when the backing is off it. Just enough for one try, get it measured correctly, and try to have another person to help with placement, who knows the game plan of exactly the points to start attaching it. I used the old as a template. Then plotted which side to start with. Be sure to stretch it out(without tearing it) before you measure it. There may be gaps, valleys, grooves, you didnt expect. Mine is on, to an ok degree. I could make it look better. And probably will soon. Shoring it up.

Ottimo prodotto
Perfetto, utilizzato per insonorizzate il tunnel del cambio sotto la moquette della mia auto! Il biadesivo che c'è è molto resistente!

Works like a charm!
We used this to re-insulate the doghouse in our RV. It sticks like crazy, so be careful. It's half the thickness of the old fibreglass insulation so we doubled it up. Made a huge improvement, in sound & temperature. I think I'm going to do the floor under my feet next. :)
