Little warriors, big gun
Originally Direct Hit and Power Punch were part of the Micromasters combiner range towards the end of the Generation 1 period. This makes them almost perfect choices to be re-issued a part of the ‘Siege’ Battle Masters line. Purpose and function wise they remain unchanged and on the face of it the figures look little different to how they originally did. As is generally the case with most Generation 1 characters as time passes, they are a bit more detailed, less blocky and possess better articulation than their G1 equivalents. Although, due to their diminutive size their robot forms are still quite chunky and the transformation process is pretty basic. They both still convert into some type of armoured vehicle (Power Punch possessing a roof mounted cannon) and in keeping with the combiner status, still join together to form a larger armoured vehicle that somewhat resembles a train. Separately Direct Hit benefits more from this as Power Punch’s vehicle mode doesn’t look particularly independent. In keeping with the weapons motif of the ‘Siege’ range they also form a large bazooka style gun when joined together which can be wielded by the larger figures. However, although this is a bonus, their weapon mode is really nothing more than them being turned upside down in combined vehicle form. It takes a stretch of the imagination and it means their heads, torso and limbs can be seen from above.

Solid, fun to transform and great colors
Out of the entire line of modern "War for Cybertron" micromasters, this mold is by far my favorite. The transformations are both easy and solid, with no risk of partial "detransformation" like some of the car micromasters tend to do. Direct Hit has heelspurs that are exceedingly well designed (not floppy like Bombshock or Topshot) and visually fit in both modes, and Power Punch's feet are big enough that heelspurs are mostly unnecessary. The joints are tight and hold their pose well, and the tab-in connections are tight but not to a detrimental degree (like on Growl where his arm tabs barely even fit, or Rollerforce where his knees dont even fit together). All in all, even at a higher price point than many other micromaster packs, I think this one is definitely worth it.
