Gets the job done!
Years ago I had an electronic version of this and it always needed fresh batteries when I went to use it and the multiple different functions and buttons just got in the way when I all I wanted to do was print a label quickly! This is cheap, cheerful and gets the job done. Came with a total of three reels of tape which are quite long too. My son messed with this and it stopped working - quick search on you tube and found the solution- the top and bottom reels were no longer aligned. 3 second fix. I saw in previous reviews that some people said you had to squeeze really hard to get a proper impression of the letter. Honestly, I don't find this to be the case. I have even suffered some weakness in my hands of late due to neurological condition that effects my strength/grip and I can still use it just fine, my 9 year old too. It even perforates the tape when you cut to make peeling the paper off the back super easy. For $10 you really cut go wrong, great little tool!!

Apparently will only do 4 letters at a time
My last Dymo label maker broke the other day, I had just bought 3 refills from Dymo for it so I could do a labeling project but it broke, it was probably 10 years old or so and I loved it. Had a good run with it so I bought this newer one (I had the blue/grey one) and just got it and it won't type full words and it cuts with difficulty. The test strip that says DYMO from the factory looks great but as you can see in the pictures I tried and tried and tried and only once did it work. I was so happy for about 15 seconds.... EDIT: Got a replacement the next day, i'm not joking, i REALLY wanted this, and IT WORKS! Fingers crossed though since it is making some noises my old one didn't but already made several tags and it is printing and cutting perfectly. YES!!!

works perfect for the small tasks that I need
After I finally got the feeling back in my hand after all the squeezing I am very happy with the result. I just wanted something that did not connect to my phone via bluetooth because it would eventually become obsolete as technology advances. This item does not require ink or batteries - for me major win! It will last so long. Comes with 3 tapes - one already loaded and ready to go so I could begin immediately. SUPER easy to use. Only thing is you have to make sure to squeeze to ensure your letter imprints clearly. So it can be tiring if you do a lot like I did. But overall in the sense of wanting to find my spices faster I am thoroughly happy with the work I've done here. If you don't need anything super fancy this is your tool. Only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I don't believe it to be the best item on the market. the letters can be a bit askew, you have to squeeze with force and you cannot see the last letter you added so if you aren't sure if you are spelling correctly you cannot check. but currently happy with this purchase.

Junk, unless it works, which it may, once in awhile
This is not my first, nor my second, go-round with the Dymo Organizer Xpress. It's generally junk, as other reviewers have pointed out. Will this hand up to light-duty projects around the house? I don't know. Maybe. Is it suitable for me managing operations for a multi-million dollar utility program for field installers? Oh, absolutely not, but I didn't even assume it would be. I got through a whole roll with only having to discard about six inches of didn't-stamp-right tape and then the whole thing just ate it. Were the arrows aligned on the wheelie thing? Yes. Still, no dice. As other reviewers have pointed out, the biggest problem with this is that the device is made with positively flimsy materials. It's not just that it's plastic-- like, there are plenty of heavy duty things that are plastic. It's that the important parts are also plastic when they should be metal. Like, maybe replace the plastic parts that do the actual stamping with some precision tool steel or something. Would I pay $20 for this instead of $10 if it held up better? Yeah. Would I pay $30? Absolutely. Why, then, is this a piece of junk for $10? Come on, Dymo. The tape that it comes with has lousy adhesive, so I've often had to resort to using hot glue, CA, or even tape to secure labels to things, because otherwise they'll fall off. Smooth, shiny, powder-coated metal? Won't stay on long, for the most part. Paper? Maybe if it's sitting flat and never moves. I don't know. I have one that's been on my bike for months, puzzlingly, but labels I've put on my big tool box have all come off (and that tool box never moves and I never even touch the labels, so I don't know?). Dymo's customer support is also horrendous. After spending half an hour on the phone with someone, the instructions they gave me were to do the thing I told them I had already done (check the wheel alignment). Please avail yourself of a better brand.

Put a space before and after your “word”
I love this little label maker. The labels are just freaking adorable. The bad reviews are in my opinion mostly user error. Except of course for the ones where the machine is broken. Once I select the character I want, I use both hands to squeeze the trigger and hold for a couple of seconds before releasing and the embossing comes out very nicely. -The labels are definitely on the smaller side, smaller than I thought but they still work great for labeling smaller items. If you’re labeling larger things you might want to spring for the larger model. Or even if you’re just more spendy than me, the larger seemed too expensive for me. -The labels have really good stickiness. It takes me forever to take the back off but that’s because I have very short nails and very bad coordination. -It doesn’t feel sturdy. The label maker is very lightweight and feels cheap. If I dropped it on hard flooring I think it might break altogether or maybe that the back cover where the tape loads might pop off for good since it feels delicate. For the price I don’t mind, I don’t expect it to last forever and when it does break I will buy another one. If you look at my SAMPLE 1 in my pictures you can see that you should definitely put a space AFTER your last character or the label gets cut too short. If you look at SAMPLE 2 you can see that white shadow on the upper left corner. If you don’t want that marking on your label, put a space BEFORE your first character and AFTER your last character. If you look at SAMPLE 3, you can see it’s not as clearly embossed as when I use two hands to squeeze the trigger.

[EDITED] No more bad feels...
[Updated Review]: Okay, so I felt the need to come back and apologize -- this labeler is, in fact, NOT a PoS -- what IS an issue, though is the lack of instruction this product comes with just sets it up for failure. There's two little arrows on each of the two rotating disks (under the cutting slot) and they need to match up, or it just completely stops embossing... Unfortunately, the main action of this device is to fling those disks around, so it's pretty easy to accidentally un-align the two halves without realizing... SO, when that does inevitably happen (and because there are absolutely ZERO mentions of this in the non-instructions the item comes with) it really just seems like it's stopped functioning, for no discernable reason. [OG Review]: Listen to all the reviews telling you this thing is crap!! Literally got through maybe 10 words before it stopped embossing... What a PoS -- returning!

Embossing hard to read and broke after one week. Crap.
Embossing is difficult to read and it kept getting jammed. it no longer worked after a week and after trying to fix it a several times after jamming. I just gave up and purchased a different brand. The vintage ones were way better back in the day (as someone whom used them in the 80s).

This label embosser is fast and accurate, not to mention CHEAP!
I was worried about going with a no-name or lesser-known brand of label maker, and I'm glad I stuck with DYMO. The DYMO embossing label maker is really the perfect grab-and-go label making solution, especially at this price point! The design is sleek and minimal, really boiling down the concept to its bare necessary features. That's not to say it's cheap, mind you; the majority of the construction is ABS, and the design feels sturdy and robust. The alphanumeric character wheel clicks past each letter smoothly when spinning quickly, but satisfyingly locks into place exactly on each letter when slowly rotating the wheel. This makes quickly pressing out labels a breeze, as you hardly have to worry about misalignment; the wheel locks in to place very precisely. Label cut easily, and the label rolls change in about 5 seconds. I haven't used the included blue or red rolls, but they look exactly as you would expect them too, bright and vibrant but not too light a shade as to be unreadable. Overall, I am very happy with this DYMO label embosser. It does everything a label maker like this should do, and it does it surprisingly well!
